I read the indictment, and it kind of read like entrapment. The government showed up to Gillum unsolicited with undercover agents over and over again with briefcases of money and "gifts" between 2016(ish) and 2018.
WHY IS A STING THAT ENDED IN 2018 BEING PROSECUTED IN 2022?
I think the government's real purpose was to have blackmail material on Gillum after he won the Florida Governorship (which he missed out on by a hair's breadth). There are other crimes in the indictment beyond the government's "entrapment." Once Gillum's governor campaign fell through he started paying himself from donations, which isn't completely illegal, but can at the same time can be. This whole thing is fishy…
