Question for economicsfags. If we have a trade deficit of 200B in one country i.e..Canada and it impacts our dairy farmers negatively due to the trade war….arent we better off paying the dairy farmers for their losses and still have excess to pocket pay off debts rather than having a fool trade agreement where the only ones that win are the other countries. What am I missing?

there are probably places in your area that could use your help. See about volunteering at your local hospital to rock babies, or volunteer at a children's hospital for sick children, or donate your time to a shelter for women and children. there are so many things we can do close to home
exactly so imagine the entire trade deficits we have world wide. I am thinking that we could theoretically take care of ourselves, build the wall, educate our youth and have enough left over to be a true philanthropist country rather than being bullied to take care of the world.
they are trying to find the "one picture" that they can point and say see?!?! enter Trump hate comment here…
im not disagreeing with you. using dairy/CAN as just one example..essentially all trade all industries. if the trade hurts one industry then lets subsidize our people/industries not other countries (I'm taking subsidize the workers too not just corporations). Fair Trade only…no more Fool Trade.
but don't we subsidize AND lose Billions to unfair trade? do we still pay farmers NOT to plant fields or certain crops? its also not as easy to get someone to plant different crops as it can require different equipment to farm and depending on the previous crop it could be unusable for awhile before a different crop is planted. Thanks for all the input and education for me tonight. maybe if we stop spraying our crops with poison to get the biggest yields that would help with supply/demand as well.
