I have a lot of guesses as to what the science fiction thing is, what, for example a red circle around a target could represent.

I think the X-files for example was perhaps at times a recounting of "monster of the week" but inspired perhaps by the tortured filmed victims and the ways they drove them to insanity through experimentation. Just a theory, and while I understand some of the cult stuff from a family level due to my past there are countless leaps in logic I have to make to understand the context in history. For example, I make guesses about things like counter actions to FDR's death being the deal made to sacrifice family members by "plants" through red experimentation for "sunshine" which seems logical to me yet it's just an assertion I sometimes make. I suppose the answers are coming and I can line up what I got right and wrong soon.
