That is a really good point. And I'm sure the blood ain't cheap either. A quick Wiki search (I know..) says that blood can be $500 a unit!!
And with the technology of re-using/recirculating a person's blood in bloodless surgeries (usually Jehovah's Witnesses will utilize this)… just really makes you think where all that money and donations are going.
