Attn: Farmer Anons

Had the opportunity to visit an anon residing in the state of Illinois. Out of the roughly 100 acres owned by anon (that is “cash/rented” to a farmer), they agreed to turning roughly 14 acres into a pollinator habitat. From my discussions, it appears this program lasts roughly 10 years and those 14 +/- acres have to remain dedicated to growing local wild flowers. Looking into this pollinator program which I believe is a federal program, it seems the funding given to the farmers and landowners surpasses what a crop would yield otherwise not many would be willing to jump on board.

Pollinators are believed to be a staple in our ecosystem so it’s easy to understand why many landowners would be willing to convert farmland to pollinator programs but during such uncertain times with our food supply, anon can’t help but listen to the gut feeling that this is yet another attack on our livelihood.

Any farmer anons that could speak to this may get more eyes on this topic as it easily segues into the seemingly deliberate destruction of our food supplies.
