Well, you pretty much summed it up. I've worked for them twice, and I can tell you that their government contracts, like almost all the others, are just a way to siphoning money out of the government to do work that the government SHOULD be doing for itself. The problem is, the government's expectations for education-to-pay are so fucking unrealistic it's insane. Check out the GS (Government Service) rankings against required education/degrees.
As a contractor with one semester of college, tons of experience, I can out-earn a GS14/15. Only step higher than a GS15 is SES.
Anyways, back to BAH. The real story here is Carlyle. They BOUGHT BAH (which should have NEVER been for sale) using commercial espionage. BAH was one of the oldest and most trusted firms in all the business world. Then they went public. Then they went down. Hard. BAH went from being one of the most squeeky clean firms to a literal shit show in just 5 years.
