Sheryl Sandberg is stepping down as the chief operating officer of Facebook parent company Meta.Sandberg, one of the most powerful women in tech and the top lieutenant to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced her departure from the company in a Facebook post on Wednesday. 'Sitting by Mark's side for these 14 years has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime,' she wrote. 'I am so immensely proud of everything this team has achieved.'Sandberg said she will continue to serve on the Meta board of directors, and that her resignation would officially take effect sometime in the fall.
