In the 21st century, with the proliferation of social media and other mass forms of communication, it has become easier to bastardize certain causes that may in some form be noble in order to pursue one’s own political or geopolitical purposes.

 

We have seen it before with the weaponization of women’s rights during the US military campaigns in the Middle East. Also, with the weaponization of concepts like “freedom” and “democracy” in the West’s propaganda wars concerning Venezuela, Russia, Cuba, Bolivia, and others. One of the issues that has also been weaponized against countries not accepting US or Western hegemony is rights for lesbians and gay men. This theme has been used to demonize states and sweeten the taste for war against them amongst the Western public.

 

For example GLAAD, a mainstream corporate-backed NGO which “advocates” for the rights of LGBT people, released a questionable statement in March regarding Ukraine and Russia. It argues that “The Russian invasion of Ukraine is built on the demonization and persecution against the LGBTQ community and has a disproportionate impact on LGBTQ people in Ukraine, who had just started to experience visibility and equality.” That’s curious in a couple of different ways, but one wonders what GLAAD would say in regards to the recent controversy surrounding Ukrainian presidential aide Alexey Arestovich.

South Korea brands North ‘enemy’ – Yonhap

South Korea’s Defense Ministry has referred to the North as “an enemy” in educational materials distributed among its troops in a move that reflects Seoul’s toughening stance on Pyongyang, the Yonhap News Agency reported on Monday, citing South Korean officials.

 

“North Korea’s provocations are security threats facing us, and as long as such security threats continue, the North’s military and its regime are our enemy,” the South’s materials for “military spirit education” read.

 

Last week, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, who assumed office in early May, said in an interview with CNN that the age of appeasing North Korea is over. His comment apparently reflects a shift from the preceding liberal Moon Jae-in administration, which avoided such expressions as it pushed for closer inter-Korean ties.

The South Korean military distributed the materials on May 9, following a speech by the nation’s new defense minister, Lee Jong-sup, at a parliamentary hearing where he called the North an “evident” enemy, citing especially its recent missile launches and the “nuclear threat” it poses.

 

“The minister has told the National Assembly that he would ensure clear education will be given to troops about the North Korean military and the regime being our enemy,” a ministry official told Yonhap on condition of anonymity. “In line with the thrust of his remarks, we have made the materials.”

 

By comparison, educational materials distributed in 2019 stated that the North represented “real military threats,” adding that the country needed “capabilities to respond strongly and sternly should the North carry out provocations or hostile acts.”

 

The change in rhetoric occurred after North Korea launched at least 16 missile tests this year. According to US military and intelligence agencies, Pyongyang may also be gearing up for its first underground nuclear test in nearly five years.

I assume by default that all women were sexually assaulted/molested. The statistics are really bad atm, most of it goes unreported on top of that. Not saying all women but majority are bonkers currently. Met a chick with a PhD in physics and even she was a goner in terms of innocence.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese breaks the law and his first election promise as he keeps National Cabinet secret from the public

 

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has broken Freedom of Information laws which are the same laws PM Albanese accused Scott Morrison of breaking as recently as December 2021. Senator Rex Patrick has taken the initial steps to have it tested in court, if need be, in the near future which will be extremely embarrassing for PM Albanese and the government.

 

When Anthony Albanese was opposition leader last year, he attacked the federal government for not releasing documents from the National Cabinet because the government claimed they were protected from freedom of information laws as the “National Cabinet” was a sub-committee of the Federal Cabinet which is protected from freedom of information laws.

 

But a judgment by Justice Richard White found that the “National Cabinet”, which was set up by Scott Morrison and is nothing more than the Prime Minister and State Premiers, did not have any relationship with the federal cabinet.

 

In August 2021 Senator Rex Patrick won a case in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal with Justice Richard White: “finding the national cabinet was not, as the prime minister had contended, a subcommittee of the federal cabinet.”

 

White concluded none of the documents sought by Patrick under FOI were an “official record of a committee of cabinet” and were, therefore, not covered by the cabinet exemption.

 

Katy Gallagher, the shadow finance minister and chair of the Senate select committee on Covid-19, told Guardian Australia she would move for immediate disclosure of key documents outlining the pandemic response. (Click here to read more)

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell: U.S. Economy ‘In Pretty Strong Shape’

 

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said that the U.S. economy is “in pretty strong shape” as Americans face record inflation, gas prices, and a host of other hardships.

 

Speaking before a panel at a central banker forum on Wednesday, Powell said that the U.S. economy grew more than 5.5 percent over the past year since it reopened in the wake of the pandemic.

 

“We had expected this year that growth would moderate to a more sustainable path,” he said. “We also, of course, are raising interest rates, and the aim of that is to slow growth down so that supply will have a chance to catch up. We hope that growth can still remain positive.”

 

As noted by the Associated Press, Powell had proposed raising interest rates to “just enough to slow the economy and rein in surging consumer prices without causing a recession and sharply raising the unemployment rate.” However, Powell said there was “no guarantee” raising interest rates would help stave off a recession, adding that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine had complicated matters.

 

Nevertheless, the chairman said that U.S. households “are in very strong financial shape” due to what he referred to as “excess savings” or “forced savings from not being able to travel” during the pandemic.

 

“Households are overall, not every household, and not the ones at the lower end of the income spectrum, but overall, in strong shape,” he said. “The same is true of businesses, very low rates of defaults and things like that, lots of cash on the balance sheet.”

 

“The labor market is tremendously strong, still averaging very very high job growth per month. Overall, the U.S. economy is well-positioned to withstand tighter monetary policy,” he added.

 

Despite his overall positive outlook on the U.S. economy, Powell said that it may never return to pre-pandemic levels.

 

“The economy is being driven by very different forces. What we don’t know is whether we’ll be going back to something that looks like, or a little bit like, what we had before,” Powell said.

 

As Breitbart News reported, the American public does not share in Powell’s positive outlook on the shape of the U.S. economy, with over 85 percent saying it has gotten worse or will get worse.

Comite De Bien Estar is a multifaceted community development organization that strives to both improve and serve our community of San Luis Arizona and its surrounding areas. Comité works to empower residents to help them overcome the many barriers they face, including very low wages, little access to conventional mortgage financing and to overcome environmental limitations that impact their quality of life. Founded mostly by farm workers in 1979 and incorporated in 1981, Comité is a membership driven non-profit that focuses on helping members build assets and strengthen the community through programs that fill needs in the community such as: Nutrition program, Self Help Housing, Construction, Low Income Tax Credit Based Apartment Housing Management and Development, Small consumer & entrepreneurial loans and many more needed services.

 

Comité is located in San Luis, Arizona. San Luis is a town of about 30,000 people in Yuma County in the southwestern corner of the state where agriculture is the major industry. The city is just across the river from California and borders with San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora Mexico, population 250,000, many of its residents work in multinational maquiladoras or agriculture. During the height of the Yuma harvesting season, 30,000 to 40,000 farm workers cross the border each morning to go to work making the San Luis US Border Crossing one of the busiest in the country.

 

The public schools that its land development makes possible; the training it provides for young people and adults; the work ethic it cultivates; the skills it imparts to entire families building self-help housing and the self-help culture Comite promotes makes me feel it will improve the life of its members and community. As an example, Comite’s nutrition program supports more than 360 daycare providers to provide nutritious meals for approximately 2160 children each month. The Nutrition program is the 4th largest program of its kind in the State of Arizona.

 

As an organization we have grown and expanded over the last 37 years but have always kept our promises and our culture of improving and strengthening our community together. We are working to improve ourselves along with our communities while looking forward to a better future.

After a “bad altercation” with an abusive boyfriend put her in the hospital, Jaime Caetano found herself homeless and “in fear for [her] life.” Tr. 31, 38 (July 10, 2013). She obtained multiple restraining orders against her abuser, but they proved futile. So when a friend offered her a stun gun “for self-defense against [her] former boy friend,” 470 Mass. 774, 776, 26 N. E. 3d 688, 690 (2015), Caetano accepted the weapon.

It is a good thing she did. One night after leaving work, Caetano found her ex-boyfriend “waiting for [her] outside.” Tr. 35. He “started screaming” that she was “not gonna [expletive deleted] work at this place” any more because she “should be home with the kids” they had together. Ibid. Caetano’s abuser towered over her by nearly a foot and outweighed her by close to 100 pounds. But she didn’t need physical strength to protect herself. She stood her ground, displayed the stun gun, and announced: “I’m not gonna take this anymore. . . . I don’t wanna have to [use the stun gun on] you, but if you don’t leave me alone, I’m gonna have to.” Id., at 35–36. The gambit worked. The ex-boyfriend “got scared and he left [her] alone.” Id., at 36.

It is settled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms that applies against both the Federal Government and the States. District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U. S. 570 (2008); McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U. S. 742 (2010). That right vindicates the “basic right” of “individual self-defense.” Id., at 767; see Heller, supra, at 599, 628. Caetano’s encounter with her violent ex-boyfriend illustrates the connection between those fundamental rights: By arming herself, Caetano was able to protect against a physical threat that restraining orders had proved useless to prevent. And, commendably, she did so by using a weapon that posed little, if any, danger of permanently harming either herself or the father of her children.

Under Massachusetts law, however, Caetano’s mere possession of the stun gun that may have saved her life made her a criminal. See Mass. Gen. Laws, ch. 140, §131J (2014). When police later discovered the weapon, she was arrested, tried, and convicted. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court affirmed the conviction, holding that a stun gun “is not the type of weapon that is eligible for Second Amendment protection” because it was “not in common use at the time of [the Second Amendment’s] enactment.” 470 Mass., at 781, 26 N. E. 3d, at 693.

This reasoning defies our decision in Heller, which rejected as “bordering on the frivolous” the argument “that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment.” 554 U. S., at 582. The decision below also does a grave disservice to vulnerable individuals like Caetano who must defend themselves because the State will not.

The events leading to Caetano’s prosecution occurred sometime after the confrontation between her

A subsequent bench trial established the following undisputed facts. The parties stipulated that Caetano possessed the stun gun and that the weapon fell within the statute’s prohibition.2 The Commonwealth also did not challenge Caetano’s testimony that she possessed the weapon to defend herself against the violent ex-boyfriend. Indeed, the prosecutor urged the court “to believe the defendant.” Tr. 40. The trial court nonetheless found Caetano guilty, and she appealed to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

 TheSupreme Judicial Court rejected Caetano’s Second Amendment claim, holding that “a stun gun is not the type of weapon that is eligible for Second Amendment protection.”

Although the Supreme Judicial Court professed to apply Heller, each step of its analysis defied Heller’s reasoning.

 The state court repeatedly framed the question before it as whether a particular weapon was “ ‘in common use at the time’ of enactment of the Second Amendment.” 470 Mass., at 781, 26 N. E. 3d, at 693; see also id., at 779, 780, 781, 26 N. E. 3d, at 692, 693, 694. In Heller, we emphatically rejected such a formulation. We found the argument “that only those arms in existence in the 18th century are protected by the Second Amendment” not merely wrong, but “bordering on the frivolous.” 554 U. S., at 582. Instead, we held that “the Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.” Ibid.

BHP announces plans to close NSW's largest coal mine at Mt Arthur by 2030

 

Mining giant BHP has failed to find a buyer for New South Wales' largest coal mine, and will close the operation in 2030.

 

The company spent two years trying to sell its Mt Arthur operation in the state's Hunter Valley, which employs 2,000 people.

 

The mine, near Muswellbrook, is approved to operate until 2026, but BHP has told the ASX it would apply to extend that until 2030.

 

After that, it will close.

 

Rehabilitation of the site is expected to take 10 to 15 years.

 

The mine's pit was today shut temporarily while employees were informed of the decision.

 

BHP's minerals president Edgar Basto said the company had reviewed potential options for the mine, including divestment and future investment requirements.

 

"Seeking approval to continue mining until 2030 avoids closure in 2026 and enables BHP to balance the value and risk of those considerations and our commitments to our people and local communities," he said.

 

The mine was once valued at $2 billion, but that has been progressively slashed.

 

After a write-down last year, BHP said the mine was worth nothing, once rehabilitation obligations were factored in.

 

Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell said BHP's decision to operate the mine until 2030 was "good news for the Hunter Valley".

 

"There are a lot of jobs that are involved at Mount Arthur and I need to make sure that those jobs are maintained for the foreseeable future," he said.

 

"It's good that they go through the extension."

 

The Nationals MP said the decision to continue operating the mine until 2030 wouldn't impact the NSW government's blueprint to get to net zero emissions by 2050.

 

"This is all coal that is exported overseas," he said.

Perhaps the #1 problem with Q, is Q itself.

Found the board end of October 2017. Was really engaged with it for quite awhile in various ways. Never baked. So to the point, as life became more of a struggle through all.of the covid bs, and me more or less moving to Central America, not very engaged.

 

Plus with many of the posts making the board a cluster-fuck of its former self, it became more of a hard read. Finally, never expected Q to return, and I was okay with that. He/they said many times, you have more than you know, so I kind of figured that they did their job as part of the plan, and time for us to do ours. Like anything, easier said then done as I lay on my bed at 5:30 am listening to the monkeys doing their morning wake-up growls. It's all good, and Q's return has definitely energized me for the "fiinal stretch," Shit, I remember back near the start thinking everything was going to happen in months. A Very Dangerous Time Inside Ukraine as U.S. Officials Admit CIA and Pentagon Conducting Proxy War Effort from Kyiv

 

We must always keep focus on the context for information that comes from the U.S. State Dept and the Central Intelligence Agency to the media. Yesterday, as Joe Biden was en route to the G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps, the New York Times published an article saying the CIA and Pentagon special forces are organizing and conducting the NATO war effort from a secret operation center in Kyiv.

 

 

Some viewed the article as the NYT violating operational security for the U.S. led effort. However, that perspective belies the nature of how the media is used in war by Dept of State and intelligence officials. The details of the Times article are attributed to “three U.S. officials,” and should be looked upon as purposeful.

 

 

In addition to the timing of Biden headed to the G7, the admission of CIA officials conducting the war effort from inside Ukraine, comes as NATO partner country Lithuania informs Russia that prior transit treaties to the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad will not be honored. NATO is poking and provoking a response from Russia, the Times article is part of this effort.

 

 

New York Times – … [E]ven as the Biden administration has declared it will not deploy American troops to Ukraine, some C.I.A. personnel have continued to operate in the country secretly, mostly in the capital, Kyiv, directing much of the vast amounts of intelligence the United States is sharing with Ukrainian forces, according to current and former officials.

 

 

At the same time, a few dozen commandos from other NATO countries, including Britain, France, Canada and Lithuania, also have been working inside Ukraine. The United States withdrew its own 150 military instructors before the war began in February, but commandos from these allies either remained or have gone in and out of the country since then, training and advising Ukrainian troops and providing an on-the-ground conduit for weapons and other aid, three U.S. officials said.

 

 

Few other details have emerged about what the C.I.A. personnel or the commandos are doing, but their presence in the country — on top of the diplomatic staff members who returned after Russia gave up its siege of Kyiv — hints at the scale of the secretive effort to assist Ukraine that is underway and the risks that Washington and its allies are taking.

"The death of a French volunteer in Ukraine is the first clear evidence that there are at least some far-right extremists among the foreign fighters who have been deployed to fight Russian forces," The Intercept website reported. Wilfried Bleriot, 32, was killed in combat on June 4, 2022, according to a Facebook post by Ukraine's so-called "International Legion".

 

Bleriot wears the black-and-white patch of the so-called Misanthropic Division - said to be an overtly fascist volunteer wing of Ukraine's ultranationalist Azov Battalion - on the front and center of his body armor in a photo posted by the International Legion, which was formed after the Russian military operation began and is open to volunteer fighters from all over the world.

 

The Misanthropic Division's violent, hate-filled Telegram group was the first to report Bleriot's death one day earlier, on June 3. The statement said Bleriot died on June 1 in Kharkov and attached a photo of him wearing a T-shirt with the words "Misanthropic Division" across the front.

 

What is the Misanthropic Division?

 

The Misanthropic Division was defined as "one of the numerous neo-Nazi groups that have mushroomed around Ukraine in recent years" by the Los Angeles Times in 2018. The Daily Beast described it in 2020 as "the aggressive overseas volunteer arm of Ukraine's neo-Nazi Azov Battalion."

 

A spokesperson for the Azov Battalion, which began in 2014 as a far-right street gang and has since evolved into a professional special operations regiment of the Ukrainian army, did not immediately answer a question about Bleriot and the Misanthropic Division.

 

However, Andriy Biletsky, the founder of the Azov movement, commenting on the presence of foreign fighters among their ranks, said, “We have volunteers from different countries."

 

“We’ve had Europeans, Japanese, people from the Middle East.”

 

Where is the Azov base?

 

The Azov base is located in an abandoned Soviet factory property on the semi-industrial outskirts of Kiev. Inside the main building, a yellow flag with Azov's infamous Wolfsangel insignia in the center-hung from the rafters inside the main structure.

 

Black Sun clocks can be seen hanging on the walls in two spots, such sun wheels or Sonnenrads, which were also found on the floor of Heinrich Himmler's castle in Germany. The Black Sun symbol is extensively utilized by contemporary Nazi supporters to express their Aryan supremacist ideas.

 

On the battlefield, there is plenty of photographic evidence of Azov fighters wearing Nazi emblems. Azov has attempted to clean up its image and depict itself as depoliticized in recent years, but its actions speak louder than anything else.

The Democracy Fund isn’t the only group creating a synergy with the leftists, government agencies, and state and local election officials, and our FOIA sweep is capturing a trove of documents showing more angles of progressive influence over election administration.

 

David Becker’s Center for Election Innovation & Research has emerged as the sidekick to the Electronic Research and Information Center (ERIC), a consortium of state election officials who use data exchanges with ERIC to clean voter rolls and register the unregistered to vote. David Becker has emerged as the party planner for the strange mix of federal prosecutors, progressive activists, election officials, and ex-pats from the federal swamp who now work for corporate America.

 

Becker, the former California Bear drum major—including when the Cal band played Dixie—also matches progressive dollars, state and local election officials, and federal authorities at the United States Election Assistance Commission who have controlled the distribution of hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.

 

These federal dollars move through the EAC and end up in states. How they are used, and which officials and vendors get them, is a top priority for the Center for Election Innovation and Research.

 

Becker, an unabashed progressive, is also skilled at organizing junkets for state election officials.

Some of the participants at the Colorado confab were from states that opposed President Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity (on which I served) and refused to provide that commission information about the same database details they happily shared with David Becker’s progressive organization.

 

All of this is just a first taste at understanding the behind-the-curtain relationships developing between progressive deep pockets, leftist activists, vote fraud deniers, federal officials with prosecutorial power, and state and local election officials.

Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Out Amid Big Sales Miss

 

Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) announced on Wednesday that its CEO was stepping down as it released its Q1 earnings report to disappointing results.

 

Mark Tritton will leave his role as president and CEO and also as a member of the company’s board. He will be replaced by Sue Gove, who will serve as interim CEO until a replacement is found. Gove is an independent director on Bed Bath & Beyond’s board.

 

Gove will focus on reversing recent sales results, addressing supply chain and inventory issues, and strengthening the retailer’s overall balance sheet.

 

In a statement, Gove said, “We must deliver improved results. Our shareholders, associates, customers, and partners all expect more.”

 

Upon the news of the leadership shakeup, Bed Bath & Beyond’s shares were down nearly 22% in early morning trading.

 

Other leadership changes included the appointment of Mara Sirhal to chief merchandising officer, replacing Joe Hartsig, who is leaving the company. Sirhal most recently served as general merchandise manager of health, beauty, and consumables at Bed Bath & Beyond and will report directly to Gove.

 

With the announcement of Tritton’s departure, Bed Bath & Beyond also released its first-quarter earnings report, which fell short of analyst expectations.

 

Net loss was increased to $358 million, or $4.49 per share, up from $51 million or 48 cents a share, reported a year earlier. Loss per share was $2.83 compared to the $1.39 per share loss analysts expected, CNBC reported based on Refinitiv data.

 

Sales also took a dip, dropping to $1.46 billion versus the $1.51 billion that was expected by Wall Street, according to the news outlet.

 

Bed Bath & Beyond has seen its sales falter despite a turnaround plan under Tritton. The company was accused by analysts at Bank of America of making drastic cuts to save costs, such as turning off its air conditioning in stores, which come amid a rash of store closures, CNN reported.

This is the sixth graphic of six.

I have not been entirely consistent here in how much explanation I offer.

At the top, I point to several clues that leap me to examine the leaflet drop sequence in the Ghosts video.

This eventually leads to a completely unassuming post that turns out to be the JACKPOT.

There is a whole slew of connections to Santa Claus and Q drops about him.

I draw those connections.

Then at the bottom I return to a chess scene from the Ghosts video.

We have already seen two totally different decodes of this same scene.

This is a third.

Q team and the PSYOP crew have literally encoded three totally different hidden meanings into the placement of a single word over a chessboard.

I cannot overstate how ingenious this is!

Iran Escalates Enrichment At Underground Nuclear Facility, Now Has Enough Material For Weapon: Reports

The Islamic Republic of Iran is reportedly continuing to escalate its enrichment of uranium by preparing to use advanced centrifuges at its underground Fordow nuclear facility as U.N. experts warn that Iran now has enough of the material to build a nuclear weapon.

 

The development, which was contained in a United Nations nuclear watchdog report that was obtained by Reuters, comes after the overwhelming majority of nations on the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) Board of Governors condemned Iran for failing to explain why uranium traces were found at sites Iran did not disclose.

 

“IAEA inspectors verified on Saturday that Iran was ready to feed uranium hexafluoride (UF6) gas, the material centrifuges enrich, into the second of two cascades, or clusters, of IR-6 centrifuges installed at Fordow, a site dug into mountain,” Reuters reported. “Iran informed the IAEA on Monday that passivation of the cascade, a process that precedes enrichment and also involves feeding UF6 into the machines, had begun on Sunday.”

 

The advanced centrifuge machines have the ability to change the level of purity at which they enrich uranium, thus enabling the Iran to quickly ramp up production of the purity of uranium needed to produce nuclear weapons.

 

“At a different site, Iran is already enriching to up to 60%, close to the roughly 90% of weapons-grade and far above the 2015 deal’s cap of 3.67%,” the report added. “In response to the Board of Governors’ resolution, Iran has ordered the removal of IAEA cameras installed under the 2015 deal and pressed ahead with the installation of IR-6 centrifuges at an underground plant at Natanz where the deal lets it enrich but only with far less efficient IR-1 machines.”

 

The IAEA said in a report late last month that was viewed by several publications that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium had reached a high enough level that they could now produce a nuclear weapon which comes as Democrat President Joe Biden has failed to get Iran back into a nuclear agreement. Multiple negotiators with the Biden administration have quit because they said that Biden was being far too weak in dealing with Iran in nuclear negotiations.

 

“The IAEA reported that Iran’s stockpile of 60% highly enriched uranium had reached 43.3 kilograms, equivalent to 95.5 pounds,” The Wall Street Journal reported. “A person close to the IAEA said Iran’s stockpile of 60% is now above the so-called significant quantity that defines how much nuclear material could be needed for a nuclear weapon.”

 

Experts say Iran can quickly convert the 60% enriched uranium into the 90% enriched uranium that is needed to build a nuclear weapon.

Pentagon policy chief, Colin Kahl, stated that Ukrainian forces have nearly completed training on High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) delivered by the United States and the United Kingdom.

 

"We did provide an initial tranche of HIMARS systems. The Ukrainians are completing training as we speak. We expect those systems to get into the fight soon, and we’re committed to continuing the flow of those munitions," Kahl said at the Center for a New American Security's 2022 National Security Conference.

 

The US will also provide Ukrainian forces with the information they need to strike specific targets within their territory, according to Kahl.

 

Earlier this month, UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace stated that the UK will supply Ukraine with long-range M270 multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) manufactured in the United States, despite Moscow's warning to third-party countries against such supplies.

 

At the beginning of June, US President Joe Biden also announced a new Ukraine military assistance package that included HIMARS. President Vladimir Putin responded to the announcement by claiming that Ukraine already has similar weapons and that additional arms deliveries to Kiev will only prolong the conflict.

 

Putin believed that if Ukraine receives long-range missiles capable of targetting Russian territory from abroad, Moscow will reconsider refraining from striking "those objects that have not yet been hit."

 

'not worth a red cent'

 

Moreover, the Head of the Russian Delegation to the Negotiations on Military Security and Arms Control in Vienna, Konstantin Gavrilov, told the Rossiya-24 TV channel that Russia will respond immediately in the event that it is attacked with long-range weapon systems.

 

"We particularly put the spotlight on the delivery [to Ukraine] of long-range howitzers and HIMARS MLRS that threaten not only Donbass but Russia as well. We have clearly laid out Russia’s stance: if the Russian Federation is attacked with these long-range systems, the response against the decision-making centers will be immediate," he said, adding, "I think, this is happening not without the involvement of Ukraine’s military and political leadership. I am not ruling out anything anymore," Gavrilov stressed.

 

According to the diplomat, the Kiev regime had promised that Ukraine won’t use the HIMARS system to strike Russia, but these promises are "not worth a red cent."
