Anon, you need to understand something. DJT appealed to a majority of people off the bat. That very nature of why people liked him (Candor, Take-no-shit, Nationalism) are the very characteristics that some people hate about him the most. The worst, however, are the ones that buy into the character assassination that has happened ever since he decided to run.
In the 80s and early 90s, everyone talked about whether DJT would run for president one day. Every talk show asked him about it. News sources back then weighed in on the benefits of having a strong businessman running for office backed by experienced politicians to create the best fit for USA since Reagan.
Then Ross Perot ran. Arguably the best candidate for president since Reagan, Perot predicted everything wrong with all the decisions that both sides (there are no Rs or Ds; but we didn't know that back then) were pushing from their respective platforms (which were the same, just packaged differently). Perot got beat out, but showed how the public actually wanted his candor and business acumen in office. What did we get instead?
Wars, financial booms/busts, wars, massive immigration, wars, deficits, wars, loss of infrastructure, wars, health care crisis, etc. All the way till now.
Here's the point of all this. Winning someone over to DJT takes a GREAT DEAL of time and patience. There is also a great number of factors you need to consider in order to understand where SHE is coming from. Always start with the facts:
-
What do you not like about DJT?
-
Can you prove what you believe about DJT to be true? (usually racism or HE GRABBED PEOPLE BY THE PUSSY; neither of which IS ACTUALLY TRUE AT ALL)
-
Present facts to counter their statements. If they REFUSE TO LISTEN, then you're stuck. Resort to plan "B".
Hey, you and I can talk politics all day, but let's leave out DJT. You do realize that POTUS is just a puppet head, and the real power is the advisors and military personnel that know what's ACTUALLY going on in the world, right? POTUS just does what his advisors tell him. THEN you lead the discussion into the following:
-
ISIS is gone.
-
NK JUST ENDED A FUCKING 70 YEAR WAR.
-
Iran is showing signs of a regime change.
-
EU leaders are in panic mode because the deals that the US was a part of (Iran/G7) were money pots for them that are now gone.
-
Lowest unemployment in history
Once you start talking POINTS and stop talking Trump, you get to the facts. Then, you can make statements like this:
-
Trump? He just does what his people tell him to. Part of that is using his "TV" persona to stir up shit on the news. He's narcissistic, remember? Hey, look at the unemployment numbers! Thanks Mnuchin/Larry Kudlow!
-
No, I don't look at Trump's twitter. Whatever. Did you see that Pompeo helped NK to start allowing privately owned businesses, now?
-
Stormy who? Meh… Did you see that ISIS has been driven out of Syria? Looks like our great military advisors are finally getting a chance to work in the region with bad management out of the way…
Shit like that. Take the conversation away from Trump. Learn to persuade. Drive the conversation. You'll see. make Trump out to be a "TV Persona" that's "Doing what he's told by his advisors"; sort of like they are laughing it up behind the scenes. It throws them off balance every single time.
Go back and watch interviews of Trump before The Apprentice. You'll see the "real" Trump.

Good luck, anon. Persuade. Gently. Don't talk Trump. Talk positions and current events. Talk progress. Be positive.
