Do the experiment. Post a series of periods on the chan. Chan software converts some combinations of letters into a different character. There is a unicode character called Horizontal Ellipsis that looks like 3 periods closely spaced.

So, below I will type one period, then two, then three, then four etc. and see what the chan software does to them

Do you see what is happening? You cannot assume that Q typed the Horizontal Ellipsis character followed by one period.
