FYI the USS-Dallas, the sub fictionalized in Clancy's Hunt for Red October, ended official service in December 2017.

It is now "decommissioned in the controlled industrial area (CIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton, Washington, sometime in early 2018."
