Pelosi blames US inflation on “war in Iraq”

 

In a massive Freudian Slip, US speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday that the coronavirus pandemic and the "war in Iraq" were to blame for the rising cost of living in the United States.

 

"We have the war in Iraq, we have Covid," she was heard saying in a video.

 

Simultaneously, Pelosi's office rushed to correct her statement to read "Ukraine."

 

The faux pas, which Pelosi did not catch or correct, is indicative of a new trend in which American leaders failed in differentiating between the US's 2003 invasion of Iraq and the current war in Ukraine.

 

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, President Joe Biden, and former President George W. Bush have all made major Freudian slips either by conflating the 2022 war in Ukraine with the 2003 US invasion of Iraq or by confusing "Ukrainian" for "Iranian".

 

Bush mistakenly bashed the "brutal, unjustified invasion of Iraq" at an event last May as he was offering a critique of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

 

Meanwhile, Biden, in his first State of the Union speech, confuses "Iranian" for "Ukrainian: "Putin may circle Kiev with tanks, but he'll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people" Biden said.

 

It is worth noting that the US invasion of Iraq left at least five million Iraqi orphans, murdered over 100,000 Iraqis, forced four to five million Iraqis to flee their homes, displaced ancient Iraqi minority groups, and destroyed much of Iraq's infrastructure and economy.

 

US inflation soars to highest level since 1981

 

In May, the annual inflation rate in the United States reached 8.6 percent, the highest level since 1981. Food and fuel prices have risen dramatically, with the national average gas price surpassing $5 per gallon this week.

 

A recent Wall Street Journal poll found that 83 percent of US citizens believe that the country's economic situation is poor or "not so good."

 

Inflation blame game

 

Pelosi, just like other Democrat leaders, tersely blamed the state of the US economy on the situation in Ukraine.

 

The House Speaker has constantly used the phrase "Putin's price hike" to blame inflation on the Russian president, echoing President Joe Biden's rhetoric.

 

In an effort to save Democrats from the public rage, she also blamed rising food prices on monopolies in the meat packing and shipping industries, and high gas prices on the energy industry.

 

Conservatives, on the other hand, argue that the buck stops in Washington and have accused Biden of strangling domestic energy production through executive orders closing pipelines and prohibiting drilling.

 

They also insist that by increasing the US budget to nearly $6 trillion and passing spending bills such as the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, Biden devalued the dollar and passed the cost on to consumers.

 

Earlier this year, Pelosi argued that increased government spending would have the "exact opposite effect" of increasing debt and inflation.

 

In contrast, Larry Summers, former President Barack Obama's economic adviser, called the American Rescue Plan "the least responsible macroeconomic policy we've had in the last 40 years."

 

Since Biden took office in January, the US inflation rate has risen dramatically, rising from an average of 1.4 percent in December 2020 to 7 percent in December 2021, two months before Russia's military operation in Ukraine began. Gas prices rose as well, from an average of $2.28 per gallon in December 2020 to $3.40 the following year.

A group of parents and students at Granada Hills Charter High School rallied outside the campus Tuesday in opposition to a policy that will bar students who aren't vaccinated against COVID-19 from participating in graduation ceremonies.

 

The Los Angeles Unified School District recently delayed implementation of its student COVID vaccination mandate until July 1, 2023, but Granada Hills Charter maintained its requirement.

 

In a statement, the school noted that 99% students eligible for the shots have been vaccinated. The school insisted the policy is in the "best interests" of students.

 

"Our board stands by the science that indicates that vaccination is the most effective and best tool available to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safest learning environment possible," according to the school. "Our commitment to safety is ever more important as COVID-19 cases are spiking again, and the prospect of outbreaks and new variants is significant."

 

According to the protesting parents, the school's policy will prevent 70 unvaccinated high school seniors from attending graduation ceremonies, including eight special-needs students.

 

"What Granada Hills charter high school has done to its graduating seniors is egregious and unconstitutional by both state and federal standards," Parisa Fishback, cofounder of a group called Moms on the Ground, said in a statement ahead of the rally. "We will hold them accountable in every way possible. For now, we march for the kids that they will not allow to walk."

 

Granada Hills has released the following statement to FOX 11:

 

"A key driver of our success as one of California's highest performing public schools is that we are an independent self-governed charter school empowered to make our own policy decisions that are right for our community. Our student vaccination policy reflects GHC's long history of making decisions that are in the best interests of our students, all of whom attend voluntarily, as GHC is a school of choice.

We also value choice as a bedrock principle of our democracy. In California, students and families are able to exercise that choice in attending an independent charter school like GHC. And as an independent charter school, GHC is able to establish clear and consistent safety measures to keep its students and staff safe.

 

GHC’s policy on COVID has not changed since the Fall of 2021. Students and their families have known since that time that it is their choice whether to become vaccinated. They also have known since that time that their choice would determine their eligibility to participate in on and off-campus activities, including our graduation and culmination activities with more than 6,000 and 2,000 guests and students, respectively, expected to be in attendance at this year’s ceremonies. Of our 1,100 graduating seniors and 140 eighth grade students, the 70 graduating seniors and 15 eighth grade students who are not on site may participate in GHC's graduation and culmination ceremonies remotely, hear their names called, have their achievements recognized, and graduate or matriculate. We welcome their participation and look forward to recognizing their accomplishments."

So, something has been on my mind for a while and I haven't personally seen any discussion of it here before.

Wuhan Lab Isolated ‘Causative Agent’ Of Virus ‘Closely Related’ To Monkeypox.

 

This is only ever going to get worse.

 

Researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology isolated new strains of a virus that is “closely related” to Monkeypox in a recently published study.

 

The unearthed paper follows The National Pulse unearthing another study published by the controversial Chinese lab that detailed the assembly of new monkeypox virus strains in February 2022. The work came just months before the latest international outbreak of monkeypox cases which appear to have now reached the United States.

 

Eleven researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology authored the newly uncovered paper “Identification, Isolation, and Characterization of an Ectromelia Virus New Strain from an Experimental Mouse,” originally published on July 21st, 2020. It was later included in the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s scientific journal Virologica Sinica in 2021.

 

The study describes the “isolation” of a new strain of Ectromelia Virus (ECTV) – “ECTV-WH” – from an experimental mouse brain. The strain was flagged as potentially having “higher replication efficiency in vivo and higher transmitting efficiency to cause respiratory infection in mice.”

 

The Wuhan Institute of Virology researchers also warn that ECTV is highly similar to Monkeypox:

 

“ECTV is closely related to Variola virus, the causative agent of smallpox, and Monkeypox virus, the causative agent of a severe zoonosis. It is an attractive virus model for study of poxvirus pathogenesis, viral immune and inflammatory responses, and could be used for antiviral and vaccine tests.”

 

At the time of the study’s publication, the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s ECTV strain was “preserved in the National Virus Resource Center.” Additionally, researchers noted it “could be provided as an important virus resource for study on poxvirus.”

 

The study was supported by several Chinese Communist Party-run scientific groups including the Chinese Academy of Sciences and military-linked entities including the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

 

The unearthed study follows the Wuhan Institute of Virology conducting similar research into strains of bat coronaviruses that could infect humans while admitting its facilities lacked proper laboratory safety protocols.

“There is no question these kids got it,” Leavitt said. “They accepted and loved the most fundamental concepts of a free government.”

 

His students, in turn, were teaching grade-school children the principles of fundamental democracy and the importance of jury trials. He added that it is not just about talking about freedoms, it’s about sacrifice for them.

 

Over their time in Ukraine theChelom and David became close friends with Yushchenko and his wife, Kateryna. They even visited the Leavitt family in Utah County.

 

“Ukraine is our second home,” Leavitt said.

 

While the Russians continue to bomb cities throughout Ukraine, Leavitt said he knows the solidarity of Ukraine and its people. He only wishes that countries who are coming out in support of their sovereignty would have been more observant and stood with them years ago.

 

“If only we would have awakened 10 years ago, this wouldn’t be happening,” Leavitt said of the current situation.

 

Leavitt said it was deeply rewarding to see all the progress and growth toward democracy in Ukraine up close.

 

“It is also disheartening to see it destroyed in one week,” Leavitt added. “I have friends in Poland, on the front lines and in bomb shelters.”

 

Leavitt is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and noted that the members are faithful people taking care of each other.

 

“They realize they could be facing their mortal extinction,” Leavitt said.

 

He added that they are just like most Ukrainians, they stand with each other and help each other — they are united.

 

Back in the states, Leavitt has concerns that his teachings aren’t quite as valid anymore, particularly around the lack of jury trials.

 

In fact, Leavitt noted that 47 of the 50 states did away with jury trials during COVID and he is not sure how many will bring them back.

 

While the Ukrainians are on the ground floor of a new nation conceived in liberty and freedom, Leavitt believes U.S. citizens are throwing their fundamental freedoms away.

 

Leavitt said it was the Ukrainians, their faith and enthusiasm in democracy, law and freedom that pushed him to come back to the United States and see what he could do to help a criminal justice system that almost always leads to plea bargains, rather than judgment from a jury of peers.

 

Leavitt noted that is why people don’t like him, including those associates who were recently vocal against him.Six current and former prosecutors in the Utah County Attorney’s Office sent a declaration of no confidence in Leavitt to KUTV. He feels he was elected to make a change, and some people aren’t open to those changes.

 

For now, Leavitt holds hope for his friends in Eastern Europe, but knows that this war could be the start of more to come.

On the action days, Europol activated a Virtual Command Post to facilitate the information exchange in real time, while dedicated analysts cross-checked operational information against Europol’s databases. This provided further investigative leads to the participating national law enforcement authorities.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — Wayne County authorities said there was an active shooter situation underway Sunday night at a hospital in Goldsboro.

Judge Who Made David Daleiden Pay Millions for Exposing Planned Parenthood Caught Breaking the Law

A federal judge who fined undercover journalist David Daleiden $16 million for exposing Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade is facing accusations of illegal and unethical financial connections to a party in one of his cases.

 

The Wall Street Journal identified U.S. District Judge William Orrick, of California, as one of 131 federal judges who broke the law by hearing cases in which they or their immediate family had a financial interest. The law requires judges to recuse themselves in such cases to prevent conflicts of interest.

 

In about two thirds of the cases — including one of Orrick’s, the investigation found that the judges’ rulings were in favor of the group that they had financial ties to, according to the Daily Mail.

 

The Wall Street Journal did not include any details about or name the group with which Orrick had financial connections. Either he or someone in his immediate family owned stock from the group that he ruled in favor of, the investigation found. He heard the case sometime between 2010 and 2020.

In response to the findings, Orrick “directed the court clerk to notify the parties of the conflict. The letter, which was publicly filed on the docket in his case, said the stock neither impacted nor affected his decisions,” according to the report.

 

This is not the first time Orrick has been accused of having a conflict of interest in a case.

 

Lawyers for Daleiden, the founder of the Center for Medical Progress, asked Orrick to recuse himself from his case several years ago after learning of the judge’s connections to the Planned Parenthood abortion chain. However, Orrick refused.

 

Daleiden shared the Wall Street Journal investigation on Twitter this week, reminding people about the judge’s conflict of interest in his case as well.

 

“Judge Orrick, who founded a Planned Parenthood abortion referral clinic that fed pregnant patients into fetus-harvesting program with @StemExpress, is among the federal judges implicated here. Orrick censored hundreds of hours of undercover footage of #PPSellsBabyParts,” he wrote.

 

Federal law requires judges to recuse themselves from cases in which they have a financial interest or the “ownership of a legal or equitable interest, however small.” However, the Wall Street Journal noted that the law does not penalize judges for violating the law.

 

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts responded to the investigation Tuesday by saying the findings were “troubling,” and the office is “carefully reviewing the matter.”

 

Orrick, an appointee of pro-abortion President Barack Obama, is presiding over one of the lawsuits against Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress, which shocked the nation with their undercover investigation of Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade.

 

In 2015, Orrick issued a gag order stopping Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress from releasing an additional 200 hours of video footage. Later, he and a federal jury awarded Planned Parenthood a $16 million verdict against Daleiden and his organization. They are appealing.

 

Before becoming a judge, Orrick worked as board secretary and legal counsel for the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center, a San Francisco group that partners with Planned Parenthood. While Orrick was working there, the organization set up a Planned Parenthood facility on site.

 

Despite Orrick having “an ongoing and longstanding professional relationship with one of the named Plaintiffs,” he refused to recuse himself from the case, lawyers for the Center for Medical Progress said.

“The building’s got a tortured history. I was Karena’s lawyer. She came to me two and a half years ago when she was in a lawsuit, this group filed a lawsuit. They had entered into a contract for purchase of the building. We entered into mediation,” Martin said. “After the mediation was done, and I was out of it, she was on this bent about it being all one big fraud, so it’s been an interesting year and a half. I don’t know where she went astray. She had her kids taken from her by CPS because of emotional problems and some hallucinations et cetera.”

 

“I don’t know Paul Pelosi, I’ve never met him, my understanding in the litigation is, he was her broker and realtor. They did contact him during the mediation and he confirmed there was a contract. He was identified as a realtor. It went through title and escrow,” Martin said.

“I have a power of attorney for her. I have a signed escrow,” Martin said.

 

The escrow agreement for the property, obtained by National File, shows that Ms. Feng’s company Feng Re sold the property to an LLC called Feng 24th The escrow was signed by Kevin Martin, who identifies himself as “Attorney for Feng Re Inc and Karena Apple Feng.”

 

Karena Feng said that she never heard of Feng 24th — an LLC that has no relationship to her family. She said that the LLC is named “Feng 24th” to convince the tenants in the building that they are still paying rent to Ms. Feng, without alerting them that they are paying rent to a different owner. Karena Feng claimed that a corporate resolution granting Kevin Martin power of attorney over her was based on her forged signature. Martin, on the other hand, asserts that he definitely had power of attorney over Feng.

 

A California Secretary of State Articles of Corporation for “Feng 24th, LLC” lists a “Gina Rodriguez” of Fremont, California as the company’s agent for service of process.

 

Feng said that since she found out about the title transfer, Kevin Martin has wired her close to $200,000 in randomly sized payments and requested her silence about the situation.
