Hi guys, so we are under tremendous attack right now. I am sorry for the inconvenience that this causes you.

About a million IPs are attacking our servers currently, and of course, the spam attacks as well.

Some of the error codes you receive on posts that don’t go through don’t match the actual error.

I get it, and sorry for the lack of information that provides you. Just keep trying. In a lot of cases, it is just a server that has been effectively wiped out by a DDOS. We have more than one online, but you might have the misfortune of being at a machine that is too busy to function properly.

I want to explain about Proto a little more.

I have had a proto type system active for over 20 years now on various boards.

It is a way to post when we are locked down to block spam postings.

It is not a 100% solution. It doesn’t guarantee the servers will be working.

It does give you the chance to post when others can’t for a variety of reasons. I want you to know that if you use it.

I am not going to be passing your information on to anyone.

I don’t use paypal, or any of the other payment factoring agencies that are out there.

Your transaction will be with my company and go directly to the credit card company from there.

Your credit card number is not stored on my servers. It is at the credit card company servers only.

There are privacy rules which I follow in order to do business.

Ethically as well. Giving out your personal information is something I would not do.

Also, your personal information is not stored on 8kun servers. So you don’t need to worry about that.

The only information for users I have ever given to authorities was in regard to criminal activities that have happened, which of course, is a violation of 8kun’s policy.

Even when I went to be deposed and interrogated by Congress and its lawyers.

I did not give up anyone’s private information. Someday, and maybe soon if the House flips, you will be able to see transcripts of my depositions.

I would like that, as it would certainly put the bad actor shills in their place.

So, rest assured knowing that I am doing my best to keep 8kun.top open for business, and I am so happy that you are still doing your own research there. God bless you and the United States of America too.

DEALING WITH SERVER PROBLEMS ON 8KUN

The new Proto system is up. But as with all new systems, there are still wrinkles to be worked out. Some may be with the system itself (we are still beta testing). But others are networking problems that come from upstream sources, not 8kun servers. Below is a guide for monitoring the routing and changing the DNS.*

There are two things to check:

1. the route data takes from you to 8kun – shows the nodes of transmission

2. your advanced DNS settings – will enable you to try different combos if you are having SERVER message pop up during posting.

1. How to check data transmission nodes in Win 10:

• in Search Bar, type CMD; at command prompt, type TRACERT 8KUN.TOP

• this will show you the route by which your ISP or VPN is connecting to 8kun.top

• for each node, the speed should be pretty fast – under 100; if you see speeds that are 200 and higher, this is slow: [CAP]

• if you see *, this indicates a blockage or semi-blockage, often due to overbooking that connection (cheapskates, kek)

• these connections can change, sometimes rapidly, depending on the ISP – which is why the ability to post may be change within seconds

2. How to Change the DNS in Win 10

if you have posting problems on 8kun, it may be that your VPN or IPS providers is not using optimal routing. These can be manually changed; this is what Jim does when he has posting problems.

In Win 10:

• Control Panel Network and Internet > View network status and tasks

• Select Network Properties > Internet Protocol Version 4 > Advanced

• In ADVANCED, you can view, change or change the priority of DNS settings, try adding these:

8.8.4.4., 4.2.2.2, 1.1.1.1, 9.9.9.9, 76.76.2.0, 76.76.10.0

(if posting is a problem try changing the order)

• When satisfied, select OK to save settings.

FINALLY:

In 8kun, SET CREDENTIALS again.

Then post.

If there are still problems:

• Try with and without your VPN.

• Check out the data transmission rates (step #1). If there are a lot of asterisks (*) or slow transmission speeds, switch the DNS priority order for a better connection.

• Flush the DNS: goto to Cmd prompt, type 3 cmds in succession: c:/users/username: ipconfig/release

c:/users/username: ipconfig/renew

c:/users/username: ipconfig/flushdns

Footnote for non-DNS anons

Between the ISP (or VPN) and 8kun are many nodes, any of which can be compromised. When a site is on Cloudflare, it gets top-notch routing. If not, it gets second-rate (or worse) routing. VPNs sometimes use cheap carriers such as congentco.com (protonVPN). Sites that are unpopular such as 8kun can also be purposely blocked in order to shut the site down.

This is why it may be necessary to know how to manually change the route for data transmissions.

WHEN TO BAKE?

After Q posted,we had two fast breads that went to 751.

Current bread @75 is packed with digs, almost ready to bake. [due to the difficulty of posting]

Goal is having breads that are

• bake-able in one shift (max 2-3 hrs daytime)

• not too dense with notables (whether collected or not)

rule of thumb: be flexible

''Bakers Choice: use what's best depending on bread speed and posts.''

• Use @751 for fast Q breads, rally breads, etc.

• Use < @751 for slow to medium breads

Generally: bake when bread has enough notes for a good bun

If they go too long, BVs may ask for a bake or e-bake to keep things moving.

Please SIGN IN to bake or note – and GIVE FAIR WARNING before end of bread so anons can give feedback or post notables.

BVs are usually around to lock breads baked prior to 751.

UPDATE Dec 27 2022

Posting problems are mostly resolved - good. Bakers still retain the decision making on when to bake to make baking easier/more efficient.

8kun's been under attack for months.

Authenticators that work for companies like Boeing have not worked for us because there's no way to tie the spammer to an account and kick him out. PROTO solves that problem by linking each user to a Proto pass.

Jim W previously offered free Proto posting for two months. But this requires a card upfront, this is the system used by his popular 5chan in Japan. Due to a tough political climate in USA, not a popular option with anons so far. The plan below provides anons with more options for posting during spam attacks, which can last for up to 48 hours.

• 5chan in Japan is very popular, has a lot of users - million ? 5chan is also a text board, with many different topics (image boards are illegal in Japan. we would find this not very acceptable but it is the law there.) afaik, it is not controversial to use a board like that

• In USA, due to J6 cmte and the push by Biden etc to make ordinary citizens into domestic terrorists, patriots exercise caution when posting online, espec giving out purchasing info

• Nobody is sure of how it may be used. Anonymous purchasing is possible although more trouble than credit card purchases, but worth it to some. Those options are being explored.

• With the chans, nobody is used to having to go thru any kind of procedure to post other than captchas. But on an open site, captchas are limited and will always be limited. Real solution is FBI - call the FBI and complain, it might help, but at present, there seems to be little or no followup.

• Meanwhile, we need to be able to post, despite the obstacles. If 8 goes down, end is unlikely to remain for long. So the battleground is set. Have to find ways to keep anons in and attackers out.

Short answer: YES.

This is primarily a research board, dedicated to supporting Constitutionally protected speech in the spirit of the drops posted by Q since 2017.

Recently an anon started posting hardcore p*rn vids on here and the endchan board. Some are mp4's, some are from sketchy websites.

In either case, with sexual content, it's up to staff to determine at bare minimum whether that content - or any content - is legal. That means they have to look at it.

Not willing to ask board volunteers to view p*rn vids, it's enough to deal with still photos, drawings and spoilers. Vids will be deleted.

Bakers Decide When to Bake

Why bake earlier than 751?

Because bread conditions have changed

• slower breads

• fatter buns

• fewer bakers

• more spam attacks at end of bread

• frequent DDOS lag after @600

ANONS like @751 breads because they are used to it and it's tradition.

But there are reasons to let BAKERS to decide how long the bread will be, as long as there's a bun ready for the oven.

Anyone can still bake to @751.

When baker signs on to bake, they must make an honest attempt to

• be present on the board during most of the shift (especially busy shifts)

• respond to anon questions and comments

• post 3-5 notable drops, starting early enough to get real feedback (first drop @100-300)

• work with notetakers who have posted notes, especially when baker is late with them

If signed-in ss too busy to do most of the above, they should SEEK HANDOFF or SIGN OUT, so another baker can bake.

Bakers who like to bake but don't want to do the rest can E-BAKE.

• If signed-in baker disappears and does not post notes by 300, someone please ask if he is still there.
