Israeli media notes feats made by PIJ in Gaza; 'imagine Hezbollah'

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) made immense, notable achievements that cannot be disregarded, Israeli media said on Monday.

"I believe that there was a major achievement made by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and it cannot be disregarded," Israeli occupation forces reserve Colonel Kobi Merom told Israeli Channel 13. "The PIJ was able to launch a thousand rockets in three days, targeting the central parts [of Israel], Al-Quds, and the Ben Gurion Airport."

"Over the span of three days, PIJ was able to disturb the lives of tens of thousands of Israelis, and this must be brought to the table when talking about the achievements made in this operation," he added.

"I believe this will not be how the next war unfolds, for we will be up against Hamas and Hezbollah. The war will not unfold on one battlefield; it will unfold on several fronts and be much bigger, with thousands of rockets launched on the Home Front, causing hundreds of casualties and a lot of material damages," the Israeli occupation forces Colonel stressed.

Hamas hundreds of times more capable, Hezbollah even more

Israeli media, underlining fear of another confrontation with the resistance, said Hamas, the Gaza-based resistance movement, was hundreds of times more capable than PIJ, while Hezbollah was thousands of times more capable against the Israeli occupation. "This is a worrying scenario in a multi-front confrontation."

Former deputy chief of the Gaza division, Nitzan Nuriel, told the Israeli 104.5 FM radio channel that Hamas has capabilities that are hundreds of times greater, and Hezbollah's capabilities are tens of times greater than that.

"Imagine what would happen in a multi-front confrontation. This is a wake-up call for anyone that believes that the security gaps in the Home Front will fix themselves," Nuriel added.

"The Iron Dome has limited capabilities […] in a multi-front battle, the scenes of rockets falling down [on Israel] will be vastly different, and we must prepare for that."

Precision missiles are a weak point

"Next time will not be a walk in the park […] it will be incredibly difficult with precision missiles heading toward Tel Aviv, whether from Hamas or Hezbollah, and this will definitely lead to numerous casualties," former Israeli occupation forces spokesperson Avi Benayahu told Israeli Channel 12.

"We must adapt to the expectations of the [upcoming] round. Next time, it will not be a walk in the park […] What happened in Operation Breaking Dawn was a small foretaste, and it will not be like this in the next war," Benyahu added.

Al Mayadeen's source reported that there was a ceasefire agreement reached in the Gaza Strip on late Sunday. The sources noted that the agreement was reached with the Israeli occupation agreeing to the PIJ's demands in full.

Sanaa stands in solidarity with Palestine, Lebanon

A rally commemorating the 10th day of Ashura in Sanaa affirmed Monday its support for Palestine's right to repulse the Israeli aggression, calling on all free peoples to stand with the oppressed Palestinian people.

In a statement, the rally affirmed its solidarity with the peoples of the Islamic nation, considering this an essential part of its unwavering religious commitment.

Participants in the Sanaa rally said they strongly condemn any form of normalization with the Israeli enemy. They also condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the targeting of Resistance leaders, and the repeated incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The rally reiterated its principled position with the Axis of Resistance in confronting the Israeli occupation until its defeat and the liberation of the sanctities in Palestine, affirming its support for Lebanon and Hezbollah against Israeli threats.

The rally considered that the strength that Hezbollah has accumulated represents the entire nation and is the spearhead of the Axis of Resistance.

Addressing the Saudi coalition amid a truce, the rally said the hands of Yemenis are on the trigger and are continuing to prepare to confront the aggression, siege, and arrogance, noting that the position in confronting the aggression against Yemen is principled and stems from their religious identity.

The statement clarified that the stance against aggression is a religious, humanitarian, and patriotic duty, stressing that no effort will be spared in confronting the aggression, no matter the size of the challenges and sacrifices.

The participants in the march raised Yemeni and Palestinian flags and banners condemning the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, declaring their rejection of all forms of normalization with the Israeli occupation and their solidarity with the Palestinian people.

It is noteworthy that the armistice agreement between "Israel" and the PIJ movement entered into force with Egyptian mediation, starting at 11:30 pm on Sunday.

This comes after Al Mayadeen private sources confirmed, earlier, that an agreement had been reached on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with the fulfillment of the PIJ's demands in full.

IOF demolish homes of two Palestinian prisoners in West Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished, at dawn Monday, the homes of the two Palestinian prisoners, Sobhi Sobeihat and Asaad Al-Rifai, in the northern West Bank.

The IOF stormed the town of Rummana, west of Jenin in the northern West Bank, and proceeded to demolish the homes of Sobeihat and Al-Rifai on charges of carrying out an alleged stabbing operation in the "Elad" settlement, which led to the killing of three Israeli settlers and the injury of four others.

Standing on the ruins of his house that was demolished by the IOF, the father of prisoner Asaad Al-Rifai underlined that the Israeli occupation "will not break our determination."

An eyewitness told Sputnik that large forces of the Israeli occupation patrols were deployed in the village of Rummana, adding that more than 50 IOF vehicles stormed the village and spread in its neighborhoods.

The eyewitness said the IOF distributed a statement asking the people of Rummana not to leave their homes.

In early May, the IOF arrested Assad Al-Rifai, 19, and Sobhi Sobeihat, 20, the Palestinian pair accused of carrying out the "Elad" operation in eastern "Tel Aviv", Israeli media reported.

The arrest took place following an extensive manhunt that dragged on for three days, and the pair was arrested 500 meters away from the site of the operation, Israeli media revealed.

Israeli media: Hochstein is in 'Israel', concessions will be painful

The Israeli Channel 12 revealed on Monday that the American mediator in the file of demarcating the maritime borders between Lebanon and "Israel", Amos Hochstein, is in "Israel".

The channel pointed out that "Israel is facing a series of challenges, most notably the renewal of nuclear talks and negotiations on the maritime border line in Lebanon," noting that these matters will increase tension paving the way for a critical period.

The official was quoted by Yinon Magal, a journalist for the Israeli Channel 14, on his Twitter account.

The Israeli official considered that the agreement is a complete surrender by Israeli occupation Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Israeli Security Minister Benny Gantz to Lebanon, noting that "Israel's" submission is a great victory for Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

'Israel' trying to buy time, Hezbollah firm in its threats: Al Rai

Informed sources told the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al Rai, that a Gulf state envoy visited Hezbollah officials, conveying a message that "Israel" agreed to all of Lebanon's demands and that it does not want war, requesting that it be given some time to complete the Israeli elections.

The Kuwaiti newspaper pointed out that some of the leaders of Hezbollah consider that the probability of war has decreased from 50% to 40%, but it is still present depending on the Israeli response to the demands to complete the border demarcation negotiations and begin the drilling process by the Lebanese side. Otherwise, Hezbollah will embark on its snowball-effect response against drilling ships based on an equation that says: Either everyone benefits from energy or no one does.

Al Rai reported that Israeli security officials said that Hezbollah was able to impose this equation announced by its Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and to enforce a new deterrence equation, declaring for the first time its intention to start the war, imposing the timing and brandishing the deterrent weapon it will use.

The Israeli officials said this situation is a first and has never happened since the establishment of Hezbollah in 1982, as "Israel" was the side that decided the timing of the war and considered itself the strongest in the region that possesses deterrence power, including nuclear power.

Israeli soldiers flee locations near Gaza: Video

Israeli media published on Sunday a video showing Israeli occupation soldiers fleeing locations near the Gaza Strip for fear of [being hit by] Palestinian resistance rockets.

The video shows the Israeli occupation forces fleeing when the sound of sirens started, and an occupation artillery officer from the 411th Battalion lying on the ground, scared.

In the video, the Israeli broadcaster asks the officer about the possibility of a ceasefire at 8:00 PM tonight, and the officer answers, "These are not rumors… Israel has no other goals now than a ceasefire."

The state of panic spread among the ranks of the occupation soldiers was also witnessed with the Israeli Knesset member, Nir Barkat, who lay frightened on the ground earlier today after warning sirens sounded while he was in the Gaza envelope.

Anti-NATO protest held in Dublin, Ireland

On Saturday, August 6, members of Ireland's Russian community protested in Dublin against the current path that the 26th County State looks to be following in terms of joining NATO.

Kabul fails to find body of Al-Qaeda chief killed in Afghanistan

The authorities in Afghanistan could not find the body of the killed Al-Qaeda leader, notorious terrorist Ayman Al-Zawahiri at the site where the United States allegedly killed him in the Afghan capital, Kabul, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said on Saturday.

The Taliban said the body was not found anywhere where it should have been found, days after saying they had no information about his arrival and stay in Kabul.

Diplomatic sources revealed Thursday to Al Mayadeen that the Taliban movement confirmed the killing Al-Zawahiri, saying reliable witnesses in the group confirmed that they saw his body.

However, the sources said Al-Zawahiri was not killed in the way Washington reported, indicating that the Al-Qaeda chief was killed as a result of a mysterious explosion that was not and cannot be disclosed.

The official said that Al-Zawahiri's presence in the Afghan capital Kabul was a "clear violation" of a deal the Taliban had signed with the US in Doha in 2020 that paved the way for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Reportedly, Washington's forces studied the construction of the home, finalizing a plan using a detailed model of Al-Zawahiri's safehouse in Afghanistan and presenting it to Biden on July 1.

Biden took the decision and issued the order on July 25, just days before the operation took place.

US to provide Ukraine with $1 bn in additional weapons

The US State Department issued a statement on Monday written by the secretary of state, Anthony Blinken, announcing that he is authorizing the US's largest single drawdown of arms and equipment to support Ukraine.

"This eighteenth drawdown since August 2021 of up to $1 billion includes arms, munitions, and equipment from U.S. Department of Defense inventories for Ukraine’s self-defense," the statement said.

Hence, this package will bring total US security assistance to Ukraine to approximately $9.8 billion since the beginning of this Administration.

The package is expected to contain more ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 75,000 rounds of 155mm artillery ammunition, 20 120mm mortar systems, 20,000 rounds of 120mm mortar ammunition, and munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS).

At least 1,000 Javelin and hundreds of AT4 anti-armor systems, 50 armored medical treatment vehicles, C-4 explosives, demolition munitions, and demolition equipment will also be included, the Pentagon added.

So far, the US has sent 16 HIMARS to Ukraine and pledged to send two NASAMS on July 1.
