I used to think Trump would be openly reinstated after the states withdrew their fraudulent electoral votes. That is not going to happen. 2024 is too far off for him to get back in with loyal voters, too much damage would be done by then, bad guys win long before then with the casualties from the vax and a full blown depression will be in full swing. We had our Tornado experience last night. The rain at the leading edge was intense, the water ran the wrong way up the street (uphill) and the trees took a pounding. The eye of the storm was also intense but moved thru quickly followed by a much lighter rain.

The Ohio storm looks like ours stayed together and continues to head east.

 

Seen worse tbo. Considered moving to a lower floor and said, nah. There was no good sized hail, just a lot of water and the lightning was intense.

Swiss airspace open again after computer crash

Flights in and out of Switzerland were suspended for hours and Swiss airspace closed because of a computer failure at air traffic control service Skyguide.

 

Geneva and Zurich halted early flights but Geneva airport announced air traffic was gradually resuming.

 

Skyguide said a technical malfunction in the early hours of Wednesday meant Swiss airspace had had to be closed to traffic for "safety reasons".

 

Some flights were being diverted to Milan in northern Italy.

 

Skyguide spokesman Vladi Barrosa told Tagesanzeiger news website that the problem appeared to be a hardware fault and they did not believe their system had been hacked. The company later announced that the "technical malfunction at Skyguide has been resolved" and airspace closure lifted at 08:30 (06:30 GMT).

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney built his $250 million fortune with the help of two of Britain's most disreputable business figures - Guinness fraudster Jack Lyons and crooked newspaper boss Robert Maxwell.

 

In the 1980s both men invested large sums in the Republican candidate's first private equity fund, started during his years at Bain & Company, which launched his now highly controversial career in finance.

 

Flamboyant publishing tycoon Maxwell was the former head of the left-wing Mirror Group newspapers and a one-time owner of the New York Daily News.

 

He died in mysterious circumstances in 1991 at the age of 68 after falling overboard from his luxury yacht off the Canary Islands after which it was discovered he had plundered hundreds of millions from an employee pension scheme.

 

Lyons, who died in 2008, was one of the notorious 'Guinness Four' convicted for a massive share trading fraud in which they attempted to inflate the price of Guinness shares to assist a take-over bid for Scottish drinks company Distillers.

 

He was subsequently fined £4 million for theft and false accounting and stripped of his knighthood.

 

In 1984 Lyons, a former colleague of Mr Romney's at Bain & Company, along with members of his family invested almost $3million in Mr Romney's capital fund.

 

He then recruited Maxwell who invested $2 million in the fund.

 

Both Lyons and Maxwell kept money in tax havens and the latest revelations will be a blow to Romneywhose financial career is increasingly being brought into question.

 

Romney has claimed his fortune and career history is proof of his ability to run the country.

 

Mr Romney was a senior management consultant at Bain during one of the most controversial periods in the firm's history when they became caught up in the Guinness scandal as advisers to the drinks firm.

 

Bain Capital, the firm's investment arm, was set up by Mr Romney in 1981 and run from his Boston office.

 

Lyons was hired to help set up a British office and became the fund's first investor with a $2.5 million stake via a front company in Panama.

One Bain executive based in London at the time told the paper: 'Jack took an interest in Bain almost as if we were his sons.

 

'He wanted us to succeed in the UK and he introduced us to a lot of people . . . I remember attending a luncheon in London with Robert Maxwell.'

 

Around $12 million was invested by Bains partners including Mr Romney who is believed to have put up at least $160,000.

 

The fund was phenomenally successful, and according to a prospectus, yielded an average return of 173 per cent a year on stakes in 21 firms.

 

In 1986 Lyons joined a group of Guinness allies buying up stock in the firm in an attempt to boost the share price prior to a takeover bid for rival firm Distillers.

 

It was a success and at the time Bill Bain, the firm's founder and Mr Romney's mentor, wrote to Lyons saying: 'We are all delighted and look forward to hearing the story of how you managed to pull it off.'

 

Lyons and three others were later convicted of theft and false accounting. Lyons avoided jail due to ill health. but he was stripped of his knighthood and CBE, and fined £4 million.

 

Although there is no suggestion that Mr Romney, nor anyone at Bain in Boston had any knowledge of the wrongdoing a Bain employee in London described the period as 'traumatic'.

 

He told the Telegraph: 'Mitt was just another partner watching this thing unfold.'

 

Another British former colleague described him as 'bloodless'adding 'He was the sort of person that you would admire rather than like, and I think that continues to bedevil his political career.'

President Obama, I'm willing to bet $1M that you (and your friends in the White House and CDC) are the misinformation spreaders and not me and my friends. Will you accept? Or do you agree I'm right?

 

Executive Summary

President Obama correctly observed that COVID-19 misinformation is causing people to die. It’s a serious problem and we fully agree. We just disagree on who is spreading the misinformation.

 

However, just pointing out the problem won’t solve it.

 

If President Obama wants to actually do something meaningful to solve the issue, all he has to do is accept my very reasonable debate offer.

 

I’m happy to negotiate mutually agreeable terms on the debate and the incentive. If the monetary incentive is too low, we can raise it. If it is too high, we can lower it. We are flexible. But hopefully the incentive should be to save innocent lives. We do not need a monetary incentive to accept the debate.

 

My friends and I are the world’s biggest misinformation spreaders, so this is a unique opportunity for President Obama to “walk the talk” and solve one of the biggest problems of the pandemic and save millions of lives worldwide with a four hour investment of his time (or even less if he wants subject matter experts to defend his position).

Nick Bryant revealed in his investigation of the Franklin cover-up that Greta Van Susteren was the lawyer for Henry Vinson, who was a key figure in this whole scandal. As Nick Bryant documented in his book “The Franklin Scandal,” and as thoroughly documented in Bryant & Vinson's "DC Madam" book, Henry Vinson, through the operation of his prostitution ring, became directly involved with two key alleged abuse perpetrators in the "Franklin Scandal": Larry King and Craig Spence. Again, as documented in Bryants' and Vinsons' books, Larry King (full name Lawrence E. King) and Craig Spence were extremely well-connected political powerbrokers, who were both accused by multiple underage children and teenagers of operating a major underage sex trafficking ring that supplied children to powerful figures in both the Omaha, NE and Washington DC areas, and used them in blackmailing operations. Lawrence E. King was, for a time in the 80s, a bank director in Omaha and extremely well-connected to the state and national Republican party. The bank King managed was the "Franklin Credit Union" in Omaha NE, hence the name of the scandal. Henry Vinson specifically describes Craig Spence as some kind of "CIA asset." As documented in Byrant and Vinson's research, Spence was for a time in the 80s a well-connected DC lobbyist, who owned a private mansion in Kalorama, a very upscale suburb of Washington, DC. Henry Vinson specifically alleges that as part of his pimping business, on many occasions he sent adult-age male prostitutes to what he describes as "orgies" at Spence's Kalorama mansion. Vinson also alleges that on at least some occasions, male prostitutes who worked for Vinson told him afterward that underage children were present at at least some of these alleged orgies at the Kalorama mansion. So there are allegations from both Vinson, and the adult age prostitutes working for him at the time, that trafficking and sexual abuse of underage minors occurred at the Kalorama mansion in D.C.

Republican state lawmakers in Ohio have presented a bill copying Florida’s contentious bill that critics call “Don’t Say, Gay,” teeing up another intense confrontation over how sex and gender issues are handled in schools.

 

Presented on Monday, Ohio’s HB 616 would forbid classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade, just like the Florida law condemned by LGBTQ advocates.

 

State Rep. Mike Loychik, a Bazetta Republican and one of the bill’s two sponsors, wrote in a tweet: “Curriculum about gender identity and sexuality has no place in K-3 classrooms, period.”

 

The bill’s other sponsor, GOP Rep. Jean Schmidt of Loveland, said in a statement: “The classroom is a place that seeks answers for our children without political activism.”

 

“Parents deserve and should be provided a say in what is taught to their children in schools. The intent of this bill is to provide them with the tools to be able to see what their child is being taught,” added Schmidt.After Florida’s new law brought activist fury and lawsuits, the Ohio bill will certainly cause controversy – and the proposal in the Buckeye State goes even further.

 

The Ohio bill would also demand that any curriculum or instructional materials on sexual orientation or gender identity in grades four through 12 must be “age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”

A short history of the morning-after pill in the United States

When Barack Obama was elected president of the United States at the end of 2008, many of his voters thought that they were going to change many things, among them issues related with women’s rights.

 

One of the areas where this expectation was highest was that of emergency contraception, i.e. in the use of the so-called “morning-after pill”, which as we know, can be used to prevented unwanted pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse.

 

The use of this pill was proposed in the United States in 1999, under the name Plan B. At that time, the pill could only be dispensed with a medical prescription. Essentially, Plan B consists of the administration of two 0.75 mg levonorgestrel pills, although later, in 2009, the go-ahead was given to administer it in a single 1.5 mg dose.

 

Its use is authorised for a period of up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse, although it is most effective the sooner the drug is taken, normally within the first 24 hours.

 

There has been intense controversy since then in American society regarding its effectiveness and safety, especially its mechanism of action, as many of the supporters of its use declared that it acted solely through a contraceptive mechanism, i.e. by impeding the production of a new living human being, while others, among whom we find ourselves, believe that together with this contraceptive mechanism, it can also act by an anti-implantation mechanism, i.e. by preventing the implantation of an already produced embryo in its mother’s womb. The ethical judgement that its use merits will depend largely by which of these mechanisms it acts, hence the controversy.

 

In 2001, at the request of the Center for Reproductive Rights, made up of a group of American lawyers and various civic associations (which brought together more than 70 medical and civil institutions), a petition was made to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the morning-after pill to be issued freely in pharmacies without a prescription. The Bush administration opposed this petition, stating that it required further research on the safety and efficacy of the pill, which meant that being able to issue it freely in pharmacies was delayed for over three years. This decision sparked intense political controversy between the Bush administration and various senators, especially Democrats, among whom Hillary Rodham Clinton had a major role. Finally, in 2006, the FDA approved the distribution of the morning-after pill without prescription, but only for women aged 18 years old or over.

 

When President Obama took over the American government on 20th January 2009, the Democratic administration publically stated that it did not want to interfere with the scientific evidence that appeared to support the medical effectiveness and safety of the morning-after pill, which led many of the defenders of this pill to think that a favourable decision would be taken with respect to its distribution without a prescription for women under 16 years old as well. Nevertheless, the FDA took nearly 3 years to make a decision in this respect, since it was not until December 2011 that it authorised the free distribution of the pill in pharmacies to all women, based on the fact that, in its opinion, the pill was safe and effective.

 

However, the Minister for Health in the Obama Government, Kathleen Sebelius, did not follow the FDA recommendations, and defended the decision that the morning-after pill not be dispensed pharmacies without a prescription to women under 17 years, which unleashed intense controversy among various feminist institutions and other civic associations.

 

Recently, one of these associations, the Center for Reproductive Rights reopened the case; the result was that, 14 months later, on 12th April this year (2013), a federal judge ruled that the morning-after pill could be dispensed without a prescription to all women, irrespective of age.

 

Thus, since Plan B was launched in the United States until this latest decision (to make the morning-after pill available without prescription), 12 years have passed.

 

The long period of time that has been required to take, in our opinion, such a negative decision, has its foundation in the ethical issues arising from the use of a drug in which the mechanism of action is anti-implantation, i.e. abortive, in some circumstances; according to our estimates, this is approximately 50% of the time or more, which constitutes a serious ethical difficulty for many individuals and various groups in the United States.

The daughter of a British geologist jailed in Iraq says she "just wants him home", adding "he is not a criminal".

 

Jim Fitton's family said they were terrified about how he would be treated in prison after being sentenced to 15 years for attempting to smuggle artefacts out of the country.

 

Mr Fitton, from Bath, insisted he had no idea he was breaking Iraqi laws.

 

His son-in-law, Sam Tasker, added: "He's an old white British man, there's a lot of ill feeling towards the west."

 

The 66-year-old had collected 12 stones and shards of broken pottery during a recent geology and archaeology tour.

"This is what will cause massive food shortages in the next few months

 

Do you know what DEF fluid is? It's Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Every Diesel truck that has been made since 2010 is required to use it. It's a product made of 32.5 percent urea and 67.5 percent deionized water. Every newer diesel truck you see driving down the road today has to have this product to drive (by law). DEF is sprayed into the exhaust stream by an advanced injection system and then converted into ammonia on a catalyst. The ammonia breaks down dangerous NOx emissions produced by diesel engines into nitrogen and water.. That's the purpose of DEF.

 

Right now, Russia is the largest exporter of Urea by a wide margin. Qatar is second. Egypt and China are Tied for 3rd. Both Russia and China have decided to no longer export Urea. On top of that, India is the largest manufacturer of Urea in the world even though they consume most of what they make. What little they would export……….they no longer do. They are now stopping the exportation of any and all Urea minus a deal they just cut with Sri Lanka.

 

What does this mean for you and me? Well, first, the United States imports most of it's Urea fertilizer. We are the third largest importer in the entire world. We depend on other countries to eat, drive and ship our products.

 

Secondly… Flying J is the largest Service provider for Truckers around the Unites States. I'm sure you've seen their massive gas stations when traveling around the country. Flying J gets 70% of their DEF fluid from shipments via Union Pacific railroad. UP has single user access to the Fertilizer plants that Urea/DEF fluid comes from. No other rail provider has access to these distribution points. This means Flying J can't just go around Union Pacific. Union Pacific is in charge….for a reason I'm gonna mention in a few paragraphs.

 

Flying J provides 30% of all DEF consumed in the United States. UP has told Flying J to reduce their shipments by a whopping 50%. And if they do not comply then they will be completely embargoed. That would in effect bankrupt FJ. This means that 15% of all DEF consumed by truckers in the US is no longer available at the largest travel service center for the entire trucking industry.

 

Rome rotted from the inside out. It was easily invaded because it was occupied with internal problems. It appears we have discovered the Trigger. DEF fluid. If this holds up, DEF shortages will be the catalyst that causes food shortages in the coming months. Not only is there a shortage of fertilizer to grow crops in drought-stricken states (See Kansas' drop in wheat production for 2022)….but….now it looks like, unless the Federal Government intervenes via the Defense Production Act, …which I am no longer confident they will….there is gonna be an absolute massive shortage of trucking in the coming months.

 

There simply isn't going to be DEF fluid sufficient to keep the engines running and moving. Home Depot is now limiting the amount of DEF you can buy in their stores.

 

I would think long and hard about the decisions you are making right now. Where you live. What you spend money on. How you prepare. This is so real that the CEO of Flying J, Shameek Konar was summoned to a Surface Transportation Board hearing to give them all this info.

 

From what I'm reading….Blackrock is the majority shareholder of Union Pacific railroad. How is that important? Americas biggest fertilizer producer is CF Industries. Their largest shareholder is Blackrock. Blackrock controls the fertilizer industry in the U.S.. Union Pacific has exclusive rights to distribution points of fertilizer. Urea is fertilizer. Flying J needs Urea/DEF. Blackrock is controlling everything.

This is the first time a current Unit 8200 official discussed such sensitive cyber intelligence sharing in public.

Lapid formally invites Netanyahu for security meeting

 

On Sunday, Israeli caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid formally invited opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu to a regular security briefing, as the two remained at odds over the matter.

 

In the letter, Lapid wrote “In accordance with Knesset Law, I would like to invite you as soon as possible to a status update meeting on the national affairs on the agenda,”

 

During a phone chat with the opposition leader, Lapid summoned Netanyahu to a security briefing alongside the prime minister's military secretary, Avi Gil.

 

According to Netanyahu's spokesperson, the opposition leader answered that he wanted the legally obligatory security briefings from Lapid's military secretary, but without Lapid there, "to prevent the security briefing from turning into a political tool ahead of elections."

 

Netanyahu's evident worry is that he not be seen, and potentially photographed, being informed by the prime minister he is attempting to depose in the November 1 elections, "Israel's" sixth national ballot since 2019, following the breakdown of the eight-party coalition led by Yamina leader Naftali Bennett.

 

Bennett has taken on the job of alternate prime minister, which Lapid formerly held as part of their power-sharing deal.

 

While the opposition leader is obligated by law to get security reports from the prime minister, Netanyahu has repeatedly refused to comply with the routine over the last year, arguing that Bennett's legitimacy as premier is questionable.

 

Instead, he got information from Bennett's military secretary, Avi Gil, while avoiding being photographed while receiving a briefing from his political opponent.

 

Netanyahu's call to Lapid on Friday was the first public contact between the two since the latter took over as PM hours earlier, entrusted with guiding the Israeli regime through the elections and until a new government is formed.

 

Netanyahu told Lapid that he hoped the prime minister's four-month pre-election period would be distinguished by "security quiet," but warned him that his political opponents would not be the ones offering calm in the run-up to the November 1 poll.

 

Lapid officially became prime minister between Thursday and Friday, and whereas Netanyahu referred to Lapid as "interim prime minister", Lapid refers to himself as simply prime minister in the office readout.

 

During his first speech, Lapid took a dig at Netanyahu, who breached a power-sharing arrangement with Security Minister Benny Gantz in 2020 and only conducted a 30-minute transition meeting with Bennett last year.
