You would think that the NIAID would already be aware of the dangers, what with their Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases department and the fact that they've been 'studying' monkeypox since 2006 to the tune of >$27M dollars. Monkeypox isn't even on their list of really scary schtuff. (and neither is Orthopoxvirus or Poxviridae - scientific genus and family)
