President Joe Biden said Friday that he had been briefed on two Americans who had gone missing in Ukraine, and he urged Americans not to travel to the war-torn country.

While CNN reported on the identity of the third missing American as being the US Marine veteran Grady Kurpasi, based on information collected from his wife, the US official did not validate the information.

 

On Thursday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told the Solovyov Live show, when asked about the two captured US veterans in specific, โ€œI do not have such information, and I have been checking it every day. I will check it today as well. We disclose to the public all information about the fate of arrested mercenaries or those on trialโ€ฆ I want to reiterate that I will double-check whether there is any additional information on this issue.โ€

Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reported on March 6 that 3,000 US "volunteers" were to arrive in Ukraine, amid Russia's ongoing military operation in the country.

 

The agency quoted the Ukrainian Armed Forcesโ€™ press service via Telegram as saying that "the volunteers are ready to repel Russia as part of an international battalion."

 

Among the US volunteers are army veterans "with combat experience gained in Iraq and other hotspots around the world," the agency reported.

The sources said that the pro-US militias of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) began deploying reinforcements in the towns surrounding the field, as soon as the explosions rocked the area, and their reverberations reverberated far away.

 

Earlier, missile attacks targeted the US base in the Al-Omar field. Al-Omar oil field is the largest oil field in Syria in area and production and is located on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

More than 12,000 Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) customers in north Solano County are currently without electrical service, Solano NewsNet has learned.

 

The power disruption is affecting over 9,000 PG&E customers in Dixon as well as hundreds of customers in Davis, rural parts of Winters and on Travis Air Force Base.

 

The cause of the disruption was not known. Around the time of the outage, Vacaville firefighters were dispatched to a report of a down utility line along Rocky Hill Road. It was not clear if that call for service was related to the outage.

 

A City of Dixon spokesperson confirmed the power outage was impacting city facilities, but said phone lines are still working. The spokesperson said backup generators at the fire and police departments were being activated, but City Hall had no electricity.

 

PG&E says it is investigating the cause of the blackout and has listed a preliminary restoration time of 6:30 p.m.

Goodyear is recalling more than 170,000 tires that were produced between 1996 and 2003 and sold for use on trucks and recreational vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that these tires experienced a high rate of failure on RVs when compared to similar tires. Tire failure at highway speeds can lead to serious injury or death.

We lost so much.

 

We will never know how bad it is to have lost so many fathers, uncles, grandfathers, brothers, friends, heroes, mentors, and leaders. I can tell you though, seeing how my siblings grew up with my father around (we lost him when I was young) is so much better than not having him. There are certain certain wisdoms, morals, love, and responsibilities that a father passes on to his children. Every war out there we lost a bit of our identity as a people. Fathers carried legacies. Fathers carried history. Fathers carried the future. Fathers paved ways. But when they were removed, we lost it all.

 

I hope this day and age serves as a lesson to most and a reminder to some on why we have the laws we have. Why we have the religious beliefs we have. Why we place our faith in God. Why we exist. Why we fight to the death to protect those we love. Why we are who we are, and what caused us to be. Frens, if your father, grandfather, uncles are still alive, please, give them a hug and tell them you love them. They've filled a huge hole in our hearts, minds, and souls that we don't realize exists.

โ€œNeural dustโ€ wireless, implantable sensors are currently only 3 millimeters in length. This new healthcare tech could be even more groundbreaking, as scientists are working to shrink the sensors to microns wide, about the width of a human hair.

Science fiction that features wires connecting brains to computers might now be obsolete. Wireless powered implants, each smaller than a grain of rice, could serve as โ€œneural dustโ€ that can one day scan and stimulate brain cells. Such research could one day help lead to next-generation brain-machine interfaces for controlling prosthetics, exoskeletons and robots, as well as โ€œelectroceuticalsโ€ to treat disorders of the brain and body.

 

The new prototypes, made by scientists at the University of California at Berkeley, are each roughly 3 millimeters long, 1 millimeter high and 4/5 of a millimeter thick. Each neural dust mote possesses a piezoelectric crystal that can convert mechanical power from ultrasonic pulses broadcast from outside the body into electrical power. The energy from these 60 ultrasonic pulses broadcast each second drives sensors and other electronics on the motes.

 

The piezoelectric crystals reflect some of the incoming ultrasonic pulses. Electronics in the neural dust motes can alter the pulses that get scattered outward, and so can wirelessly transmit data they gathered. In experiments with rats, the researchers found that neural dust motes implanted in nerve and muscle fibers in the leg could record and transmit electrical data.

 

โ€œI was really skeptical of this concept at first, since it was so out of the box,โ€ says Doug Weber, a bioengineer and neuroscientist at DARPA, who helped fund the neural dust research. โ€œBut itโ€™s a really elegant approach, and it works pretty well.โ€

 

The researchers wanted to create wireless implants to avoid irritating the body. Conventional electronic implants that connect to nerves rely heavily on wires that can inflame tissues over time.

 

โ€œThe approach theyโ€™re taking is ingenious,โ€ says neuroengineer Jacob Robinson at Rice University, who did not take part in this research. โ€œTheyโ€™ve addressed one of the most important challenges out there when it comes to neural interfaces.โ€

Talisman part 1

Iโ€™ll probably remember the first talisman I ever made for the rest of my life, because itโ€™s not a memory I find pleasant. Mostly my prison days seem like something that happened lifetimes ago, and they rarely cross my mind. I honestly just donโ€™t care, for the most part. Thatโ€™s all the past, and I donโ€™t live looking backward. More often than not, Iโ€™m far more excited about whatโ€™s ahead of me. I often feel this overwhelming sense that something good is coming for me. Something amazing. And because of that I get random bursts of excitement. But the memory of talismans are tied up in prison for me, because thatโ€™s where I started making them, out of necessity.

The first talisman was for protection. And the reason was because of what prisoners and guards alike refer to as a โ€œshakedownโ€. Itโ€™s when anywhere from 2 to 10 guards come to your cell and destroy everything in it. Theyโ€™re looking for anything at all that they can find that will allow them to send you to โ€œthe hole.โ€ While this is going on youโ€™re standing handcuffed in a cell with the guards, usually just wearing a pair of boxer shorts. It takes about an hour for them to destroy your things, take precious family photos (or just walk on them) and turn your whole world into a broken jumble on the floor. Sometimes there is a side dish of physical brutality, if youโ€™re one of the few they pick out to rough up that day. This happens on average of once a month, and they use it like a kind of psychological torture technique to remind you of it. Itโ€™s a source of constant stress and anxiety. You also never know when someone is going to get trigger happy with the tear gas and leave half the barracks choking for half the day. It was during one of these shakedowns that I made my first talisman.

When Utah County Attorney David Leavitt decided to go to Ukraine earlier this week to collect documents from his Kyiv apartment, heโ€™d planned for several contingencies in case the city was invaded by the Russian military.

 

He had extra cash in case the internet went down and the ATMs didnโ€™t work. Heโ€™d also rented a car, deciding it safest to not rely on public transportation in case the trains stopped running.

 

But something unexpected happened that halted what was supposed to be aquick trip to Ukraine to gather a few personal items: Leavitt is stuck in Amsterdam after he tested positive for COVID-19.

 

Itโ€™s the second time Leavitt has been ill with the coronavirus.

 

Leavitt, who taught in Ukraine with the American Bar Association for more than a decade,has owned an apartment in Kyiv for several years. With news of a threat of a Russian invasion, Leavitt said in an interview on Wednesday that heโ€™d booked the hasty trip to Ukraine to get paperworkproving ownership of his apartment and to collect some personal effects.

 

โ€œWe flew from Salt Lake to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Kiev,โ€ he said Wednesday, โ€œand spent 24 hours there andgot things taken care of then visited with some close friends of ours.โ€

 

The capital city felt different than previous visits, Leavitt said of landing in Kyiv. He added that Ukrainian friends seemed nervous.

โ€œIt felt like there was a tension,โ€ he said. โ€œA feeling of foreboding. Itโ€™s right at the front of everyoneโ€™s minds. Itโ€™s a sad feeling.โ€

 

โ€œThere has been so much troop movement recently,โ€ he said. โ€œ[Russian President Vladimir] Putinโ€™s tanks have a far easier time going over frozen ground than muddy ground. Thatโ€™s not something we think of as Americans.โ€

 

Thecounty attorneysaid hedecided to go to Ukraineafter seeing news that the American Embassy was evacuating families and personnel and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had moved its missionaries out of the country. He expedited a previously planned trip because he felt he had a window of time where he couldgo with his sons to collect what they needed from the Kyiv apartment.

 

The U.S. Embassy issued an alert on Wednesday urging Americans to leave Ukraine as soon as possible, saying โ€œthe security situation in Ukraine continues to be unpredictable due to the increased threat of Russian military action.โ€ It further noted the situation could โ€œdeteriorate with little notice.โ€

Leavitt first left Utah on Sunday, flew back out of Ukraine on Tuesday and received a positive COVID-19 test result early Wednesday while in Amsterdam en route back to Salt Lake City.

Heโ€™s now quarantining in a hotel room near the airport in Amsterdam, but says heโ€™s not sure how long he will be required to stay there.

โ€œThankfully they have a bathrobe,โ€ he said Wednesday. โ€œBecauseI literally went with the clothes on my back. And so now my clothes are drip-drying from my hotel room sink.โ€

During his years teaching in Ukraine, Leavitt said he instructed law students about the principles of American jury trials. The county attorney said it was the Ukrainian law studentsโ€™ confusion over how plea deals could work in the United States that made him realize the shortcomings of the criminal justice system. He is now outspoken about wanting reform.

โ€œSo much of what I do in the United States, as the Utah County Attorney, is directly tied to years in the Ukraine,โ€ he said. โ€œIโ€™m sad about it, because I not only love the Ukranian people, I have worked hard to help the legal system.โ€

Senior advisor to Obama pleads guilty!

 

A former Obama administration official pleaded guilty to federal charges on Friday for his involvement in a secretive effort to unduly influence the Trump administration.

 

Richard G. Olson, who was then-President Barack Obamaโ€™s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan in 2015 and 2016, admitted that he lied on ethics paperwork and broke so-called โ€˜revolving doorโ€™ statutes, according to a report in The Washington Post.

 

The report noted that the misdemeanor violations came in connection with Olson lobbying for Qatar within a year of his retirement from the federal government.

 

The Post added:

 

In pre-plea proceedings in federal court in Washington, Olsonโ€™s defense counsel said he admitted to the misdemeanor charges โ€” each punishable by up to one year in prison at his sentencing Sept. 13 โ€” and cooperated with federal prosecutors on the understanding that they were also investigating and pursuing criminal charges against retired four-star Marine Gen. John G. Allen. The latter commanded U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan before retiring in 2013. He was tapped in late 2017 as president of Washingtonโ€™s influential Brookings Institution, to which Qatar agreed in 2013 to donate $14.8 million over four years.

 

The two men are the latest high-level American officials to be enmeshed in a long-running federal investigation into a ferocious โ€” and lucrative โ€” battle for influence in Washington waged between the wealthy Persian Gulf nation of Qatar and its regional rival the United Arab Emirates, as Donald Trump prepared to take office and engage in new rounds of Middle East diplomacy.

 

The Post went on to report that in July 2021, Thomas Barrack, Jr., a longtime billionaire friend of Trump and his presidential inaugural committee chairman, was charged with obstructing justice and acting on behalf of the UAE without being registered as a foreign lobbyist.

 

Also, U.S. businessman Imaad Zuberi, who is a major donor to both political parties, was sentenced in February 2020 to 12 years behind bars after he pledged guilty to tax evasion, foreign influence-peddling, and violations of campaign finance laws.

 

In court papers, Olson admitted he failed to disclose in annual ethics forms as required that he accepted a first-class airline ticket from New Mexico to London, as well as a stay in a luxury hotel in January 2015 โ€” all of which were worth approximately $20,000 โ€” from a Pakistani-American businessman (anon wonders if there is an AWAN connection?)who was not identified by the federal government but whose description matches Zuberi, the Post reported.

 

โ€œOlson admitted meeting with a Bahrain businessman, who would offer him a one-year $300,000 contract for work after he left the State Department,โ€ the paper added.

 

Olson admitted in plea documents filed in court in June 2017 that he contacted an unnamed third person who is defense identified as Allen in order to help โ€œprovide aid and advice to Qatari government officials with the intent to influenceโ€ American foreign policy following a blockade of Qatar by the UAE and ally Saudi Arabia.

 

Zuberi, Olson and โ€œPerson 3โ€ traveled to Doha, โ€œwhere the latter pair met with various Qatari officials including its emir, then returned to meet in Washington with members of Congress,โ€ the Post added.

 

During a hearing on May 27 and in previous court filings, J. Michael Hannon, Olsonโ€™s attorney, pressed federal prosecutors about why Allen has yet to be charged.

 

โ€œExculpatory evidence about Allen could mitigate Olsonโ€™s sentence or invalidate his plea agreement, Hannon argued, saying a decision not to charge the general could mean prosecutors improperly โ€˜inducedโ€™ a guilty plea from the diplomat who relied on government representations that he might be recommended leniency at sentencing for his cooperation,โ€ noted the paper.

 

Hannon told U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey, who presided over the case and accepted Olsonโ€™s plea: โ€œIf in fact there is no case against General John R. Allen [for allegedly violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act], we think that that is a significant piece of information for sentencing, just as we believe that an inducement to enter into this plea agreement is important to the court.โ€

 

Evan Turgeon, a prosecutor with the Justice Departmentโ€™s national security division, told the court that Allenโ€™s case remains open and that the government never offered Olson leniency in exchange for his cooperation.

 

He added, โ€œNothing related to General Allen has any bearing on the false statement the defendant made on an Office of Government Ethics form in May of 2016, and that was a full year before General Allenโ€™s involvement in activities related to Qatar.โ€

He will oversee 20 field offices and 11 foreign posts, including approximately 2,000 special agents investigating tax fraud and other financial crimes.

 

"The Deputy Chief position demands someone with vast experience in tax law and financial crimes, but also a passionate leader who can further the development of CI's workforce", said Jim Lee, Chief of IRS Criminal Investigation. "After nearly three decades serving our agency in various roles, Guy's experience will prove invaluable as we continue uncovering financial crimes around the world."

 

Ficco currently serves as IRS-CI's Executive Director of Global Operations where he oversees CI's policies related to investigations, as well as the agency's international footprint. He provides executive leadership over CI's Financial Crimes, Asset Recovery and Investigative Services, Special Investigative Techniques, and Narcotics and National Security sections, as well as CI's International Field Operations.

 

Ficco will replace Jim Robnett, who will be retiring July 15 after 36 years of service at the IRS, 28 of which were with IRS-CI.

VICTIMS: โ€œDISILLUSIONED, VULNERABLE AND WITHOUT A SENSE OF JUSTICEโ€

 

The declaration also states that the implementation of screening policies and procedures have resulted in a backlog of well over 1,000 criminal cases waiting to be screened for charges. The Navy has fired a total of 13 commanding officers so far this year but wonโ€™t explain why

 

The Navy has fired nearly a dozen officers in leadership positions in less than three months, including five in one week, due to a โ€œloss of confidenceโ€ in their ability to command โ€” an unusual string of terminations across land, air and sea teams, experts said.

 

At least nine commanding officers and two senior advisers have been relieved of their duties since April, when a cluster of suicides on the USS George Washington warship sparked widespread concerns of a mental health crisis.

 

A total of 13 commanding officers have been fired so far this year, including 12 in the Navy and one in the Marine Corps, the Navy said. Most recently, four Naval commanding officers and a top leader were ousted from June 8 to June 14.

 

Itโ€™s unclear what prompted the personnel changes, which the Navy said were unrelated to each other. The Navy did not elaborate further on specific conditions that led to the firings, but stressed the importance of โ€œtrust and confidenceโ€ across all levels of the chain of command.

 

โ€œThe U.S. Navy has long maintained high standards for all its personnel. Those who fall short of these standards are held accountable,โ€ said Lt. Cmdr. Devin Arneson, a Navy spokesperson, who added that such an action is โ€œneither punitive nor disciplinary.โ€

 

None of the leaders served the George Washington, where at least five crew members died by suicide in the last year, angering some sailors and advocates who work to reduce military suicides.

Ever been part of "the wave" at a sporting event? Stood up at a show or event and applauded because others were applauding without knowing much about who, or what the clapping was for?

All of us negotiate a soul contract before entering into any one lifetime. Our life agreement covers the people and situations weโ€™ll encounter in life but not our responses to them. Letโ€™s look at the circumstances of that contract.

 

Everyone has a life plan

 

Each lifetime we agree before birth to take on a specific learning task or tasks. Our guides and the Lords of Karma usually call the assignments we give ourselves our โ€œsoul contract,โ€ โ€œblueprint,โ€ or โ€œlife plan.โ€

 

SaLuSa tells us that โ€œevery individual has his or her own plan.โ€ (2) โ€œYou have a life contract,โ€ he says, โ€œof which very few are personally aware and have seen into the future and planned it accordingly.โ€ (3) According to Matthew Ward as well, only โ€œa relative handful of Earthโ€™s peoples know about soul contracts.โ€ (4)

 

He tells us that โ€œlife plans are agreed before you come into your earth body, and your Guides will do everything in their power to ensure you complete your incarnation successfully.โ€ (5) When weโ€™ve completed your life plan, he tells us, we leave Earth.

 

โ€œNormally when your time of completion is reached you are ready to return to the higher dimensions. Bear this in mind when your loved ones or friends leave the Earth plane, and be happy for them. They have not gone from your lives forever, and soul groups will come together time and time again.โ€ (6)

 

Some time after death, we sit down again with our guides and review how we did, in an event generally known on the other side as โ€œthe Judgment.โ€ (7) Elsewhere Iโ€™ve discussed how 20th Century psychologist Frances Banks navigated her โ€œJudgmentโ€ in the astral planes. (8)

 

Our soul contracts determine what situations are brought to us but not how weโ€™ll respond. In fashioning our response to these given situations, we are expected to grow in knowledge of ourselves.

 

Sometimes it may take us a series of lifetimes to learn one specific lesson, SaLuSa informs us, but learning it โ€œmoves you on and adds to your spiritual understanding.โ€ (9)

 

Our soul contract is negotiated each lifetime. One occasion on which the discussion of soul contracts arises is when we consider the events of our lives and wonder if coincidence plays a role. Saul says:โ€œThere are no accidents or coincidences. Every occurrence and every opportunity that you experience during Earth life has been prepared or allowed for before you incarnated.โ€ (10)

 

SaLuSa concurs: โ€œAs you can clearly understand, you are all in here to learn through your experiences and nothing comes your way by pure chance.โ€ (11) Every aspect of our lives is planned, he says. (12) We may feel that many of our experiences are uncalled for, but โ€œwe assure you that they are all connected with your life plan.โ€œ (13)

 

โ€œWhere you experience the harsh reality of life,โ€ SaLuSa reminds us, โ€œit is for your spiritual understanding and development.โ€ (14) The galactic and spirit teachers can see what events lie ahead of us, he reveals.

 

โ€œEvents can be foreseen way ahead, so it easy enough to place you where it is of the most benefit. Life seems complicated but in reality it is quite simple, as you will always find yourself to be in the right place. It is much the same with the people that enter your life, as that is also by arrangement and agreement.โ€ (15)

 

For these reasons, Saul encourages us to embrace situations in our lives which seem like curve balls.

 

โ€œWhen life throws you a curved ball, embrace it! Nothing in your life happens by chance; every event you experience has been planned and has a purpose. However, while you remain immersed in the illusion, it is very difficult for you to perceive this, let alone understand what it is trying to show you.โ€ (16)

 

SaLuSa explains these curve balls as karma and says they again are part of our life plan.

 

โ€œOnly karmic reasons would result in you being pulled off course, and if it happens know that it is part of your life contract that you have already agreed upon.โ€ (17)

 

We forget about our soul contract when we incarnate
