there is no dark anything. the ancients understood there are four elements:
earth = solid = matter
water = liquid (flow) = time
air = gas (infinitely expandable) = space
fire = plasma = energy
the chinese added a fifth element, metal.
metal = electrical conductivity (non-localized sea of electrons = the æther (from which the first four derive, and within which they move)
and the fifth element is the æther.
