This is an older story than any digging done here. Fink's ESG is old, as in Mussolini kinda old, just a little more finessed from the Boardroom. Fink didn't "invent" anything, as it's all geared toward passive investing into BlackRock controlled investments, anyway. It's the distribution of assets to "favored" outcomes, as opposed to being a fiduciary with the funds being managed.

 

All investment firms use this system, less so at Vanguard (Bogle started the Passive Fund game decades ago, so no need for Fink's chit), all the other front facing firms though, they use Aladdin.
