No.

Pot has been around since….um, it started growing about the same time plants were "invented". On the second day.

Pot was vilified in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

"Reefer Madness"

"Worse than heroin"

I don't recommend rampant and profuse use of marijuana but it has its purposes - both medical and recreational.

Yes, someone who routinely smokes pot will dig in the couch for a roach they know they lost and rerolling is necessary as you can only smoke a roach so far before burning your lips.

Have you ever seen a junkie jones for heroin?

Have you ever seen an alcoholic who desperately needs a drink?

I won't say pot is not psychologically addictive - but it ain't the same thing at all.

The way the law reads right now - you can't

It is classified as a C1 which means - unless you get special dispensation from the DEA, research is impossible.

I worked on a couple of C1 trials for a "novel" pain reliever - coordinated all of the DEA stuff - layers and layers of bureacracy for a pathetic, stupid drug that never made it to market.

It took a couple of years to get even one clinical site approved - and we needed like 50.

Thing was - that drug wasn't even controversial.

Unless the law is changed and MJ is descheduled - research will Never happen.

Anon asked for "legitimate research".

I know there are case studies and anecdotal research, along with psychosocial research, in vitro and animal studies.

Scientific proof in humans only comes with comparative, randomized, placebo-controlled double-blind studies.in humans

Sorry - but its true.
