To manufacture each EV auto battery you must process 25000 pounds of brine for the lithium, 30000 pounds of ore for the cobalt, 5000 pounds of ore for the nickel, and 25000 pounds of ore for copper.
You could argue that CO2 is bad (.04% of the atmosphere). Its just a question of how you want to fuck up the environment.
