I am thinking that we shot the missile in response to a foreign threat against POTUS while he was arriving in Singapore.
We relayed the message to whomever was threatening POTUS, launched the missile to confirm our resolve, and then commanded the missile to land somewhere else after the enemy complied.
That's how the missile was stopped!
