Great video. Missing how a clutch works. Know there a clutch somewhere in the transmission because was driving a loaded tandem (24 ton) as a teenager for Halliburton and blew out the drive shaft (there's a short part of the drive shaft that is put in to fail before the drive shaft itself (weakest link) making repairs easy and quick. Blew out the clutch. Trumk had an auxiliary transmission, blew that out too. Had the repair man come out, replace the small broken part of the drive shaft and drove the truck without a clutch. Drove it back afterwards the same way.

 

Back in the day, the first thing a tenderfoot learns is how to shift gears without using the clutch, both up and down.
