WoW divides players into two opposing teams the Horde, and the Alliance. Everyone can post on global chat, but anything the opposite side posts is "translated" into gobbledygook so you can't understand it.
The Horde has cool races like Trolls, Orchs, and Undead, and the Alliance has cute races like Humans, Gnomes, and Elves. As a result, all cool players with an attitude play Horde, and all lame newbies and losers play Alliance.
Horde players have always loved trolling Alliance players in every possible way, dancing around them and making suggestive emote animations. Then they post "lol" to global chat, which Alliance players get to read as "kek".
