So if we assume that the white hats have gone after the elite, cutting off their money making, like drugs, children, blood/organs, etc they will reach a point where they are spending more than they are making with the elaborate lifestyle. Hence the selling off of the big mansions etc. They are scrambling for money to support themselves.

Each day they lose more than they make because the well has dried up.

What do they do? They start charging more for what they do have. Big corporations jacked up prices and blamed it on inflation. I think they are gouging to the public, not because of supply chain issues or shortages, but because they can charge more if the public 'thinks' there are shortages.

They are dying and they are trying to make as much money as possible as their sources of fast cash dry up. Eventually it will and they will be selling everything they own just to support themselves.
