I would think he would cross a different way than using the Golden Gate.
He could afford to pay the Ferryman and sail right on through to Hades, as in the myth of Charon. In ancient times, it was the custom to place coins in or on the mouth of the deceased before cremation so that the deceased could pay the ferryman to go to Hades.
On the other hand, in Jewish tradition, the Messiah will enter Jerusalem through the Golden Gate, or Gate of Mercy.
And then there's the Golden Gate of Heaven (Saint Peter and whatnot), but that surely does not apply here.
