Partial
A former Oakland County attorney was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in federal prison for his role in briberies for a now-defunct company to receive a 10-year trash hauling contract in Clinton Township.
Jay Schwartz received the sentence, which includes two years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine, from U.S. District Judge Robert Cleland following Schwartz’ conviction on bribery conspiracy and two counts of bribery. Schwartz helped facilitate over $40,000 worth of bribes from Charles Rizzo of the former Rizzo Environmental Services to former township trustee Dean Reynolds, who is serving 17 years in prison for role. Rizzo is serving 5-1/2 years for his role.
