i remember having read about a Spanish company or a team having been involved in various anti JA surveillance activities and possibly also plotting something more. So they are investigating a Spanish conspiracy … Pompeo is asked be a witness but if Kansas does not want to go, there's nothing the Spanish court can do.
Maybe the suspicion is that the Spanish team might have been a possible contractor for the CIA, maybe they could have been hired as "pipe hitters" to do wet works on Assange.
If the CIA was involved, Pompeo certainly won't go, but if the rumors about the CIA plot to kill Assange are totally unfounded, then it would be a good opportunity for Pompeo to set facts straight. I'm not saying not witnessing is admission of guilt, but …
