Children in Gaza hold vigil to save them from "Israel's" attacks

Last night Thursday, tens of children in Gaza held a candlelight vigil for their peers who were killed in the latest Israeli attack on the Strip, in which participants held photos of the martyrs in the gathering organized by the governmental ministry of Youth and Culture as well as the Kayan Cultural Center west of the Strip.

Of the signs held up by the children, one said: “The children of Gaza are calling upon the free people of the world to save them from the Israeli occupation’s missiles.” The children also shouted cries, denouncing “Israel’s” latest military attack.

"We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian children that are victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip," said Taghrid Shaafout, the head of the Kayan Cultural Center, on the sidelines of the vigil.

"The children of Gaza are still living a state of panic, horror, and sadness […] till when shall they remain targets of the occupation? Our people will stand their ground, and the Palestinian case is an inseparable part of us," Shaafout added.

91% of Gazan children suffered from some form of trauma to say the least, according to a report from the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-based independent, nonprofit organization that the Israeli occupation government outlawed in 2016.

Lian Al-Shaer: child martyr and symbol of innocence

Of the many children killed, 10-year-old Lian Al-Shaer, of the Khan Yunis governorate, died last night after succumbing to her injuries from the recent attack by the Israeli occupational forces – she was one of 360 civilians injured, and of the 19 children murdered, never getting the chance to enjoy their childhood.

Bachelet’s office reported that 19 Palestinian children had been killed in Gaza during the recent aggression, bringing the total number of Palestinian children killed this year to 37.

The Israeli occupation began on August 5 its aggression on the Gaza Strip, and Al-Quds Brigades announced that Taiseer Al-Jaabari, a military commander in the northern Gaza Strip, had been martyred.

Consequently, Al-Quds Brigades launched an operation in response to the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip by launching salvoes of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the Israeli occupation's aggression martyred 48 Palestinians, including 19 children, and wounded 360 others.

UN bashes 'Israel' for unconscionable killing of Palestinian children

The UN human rights chief expressed "concern" on Thursday about the number of Palestinian children killed and injured this month and demanded that those responsible be held accountable.

Last week, “Israel” unleashed brutal aggression on Gaza which lasted for three days.

"Inflicting hurt on any child during the course of conflict is deeply disturbing," Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations high commissioner for human rights, said in a statement.

"The killing and maiming of so many children this year is unconscionable."

Bachelet’s office reported that 19 Palestinian children had been killed in Gaza during the recent aggression, bringing the total number of Palestinian children killed this year to 37.

"In a number of incidents, children were the majority of casualties," Bachelet's office said.

"Such attacks must stop."

If not killed by “Israel”, children in Gaza are left traumatized

In Gaza, the cost of war on children affects everyone, not just those who are killed or injured.

In the Israeli aggression in May 2021, the 11-day war resulted in the martyrdom of 66 children, and those who stayed alive were marred by deep emotional traumas.

A mostly silent consequence of the heinous war is its impact on the mental and psychosocial well-being of people who are already living under the brutal Israeli occupation. This is particularly true for children.

91% of Gazan children suffered from some form of trauma to say the least, according to a report from the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-based independent, nonprofit organization that the Israeli occupation government outlawed in 2016.

What is a “normal” situation to many Palestinian children is an incredibly stressful life event: the loss of a parent or a loved one. Such a taxing life event is a severe emotional blow to the future of the child’s well-being.

Despite all the pain, sadness, fear, and loss, those children still like to read, draw, play sports, and have fun with their friends. They still have hopes and dreams for a better future where Palestine is free.

EU condemns 'Israel' decision to demolish school east of Ramallah

The representative of the European Union in Palestine, Sven Kuhn von Burgsdorff, said, on Friday, that "Israel’s" decision to demolish the Ein Samiya school, east of Ramallah, is “illegal.”

During a statement to Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of his visit to the Ain Samiya school which is threatened with demolition, and accompanied by representatives and ambassadors of EU countries to Palestine, Burgsdorff said that "Israel's decision to demolish the school is illegal and inconsistent with international humanitarian law."

Burgsdorff pointed out that "the school was built with the support and funding of the European Union, in order to serve the students and provide school education for them," and that "the demolition of the school means that the students are forced to walk about 9 kilometers in order to reach the nearest school, through a road surrounded by Israeli settlements, which threatens their lives."

The European official called for an immediate halt to the "demolition decision," and stated that "the ambassadors and representatives will convey to their country's capitals the suffering of the residents in Ein Samiya, as well as in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Al Khalil, which is also threatened with demolition."

Burgsdorff added that "We must support them by providing the elements of steadfastness, and not allow the demolition of these gatherings."

Last Wednesday, the Israeli occupation court in al-Quds issued a decision to "immediately demolish" the Ein Samiya school, according to the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights.

Germany to suspend replacing French forces in Mali

The German defense ministry announced on Friday it had suspended the majority of its operations in Mali after the local military-led government denied flyover rights to a UN peacekeeping mission amid constant attacks against UN missions, causing numerous withdrawals like that of Egypt.

A ministry spokesman said at a press conference that the Malian government refused once again to give flyover rights to a flight planned today for the rotation of personnel on the ground.

Germany was to replace France in Mali

Germany responded by deciding to "suspend until further notice the operations of our reconnaissance forces and CH-53 (helicopter) transport flights".

"It is no longer possible to support the MINUSMA reconnaissance missions on an operational basis," the spokesman added.

The spokesman announced that without the new troops planned to "replace the French forces" withdrawing after Mali’s discontent of France’s violations in the country, "security on site is not assured" as the "remaining forces must be kept ready for security operations".

The flyover rights were refused despite assurances to the contrary from Malian Defense Minister Sadio Camara in a call with German counterpart Christine Lambrecht on Thursday, according to the spokesman.

Lambrecht said in a statement posted by her ministry on Twitter that "Camara's actions tell a different story than his words…”

The German move to suspend military activities comes following Mali's junta turned away from France and toward Russia for support in its fight against terrorist-led groups that have already claimed attacks across the country. In the most recent attack, the death toll reached 42 as Malian soldiers were targeted in Tessit.

The long-running insurgency has claimed thousands of lives and forced hundreds of thousands from their homes, as the ties between Bamako and Paris, its former colonial power and traditional ally, deteriorated in recent months.

The arrival of Russian paramilitaries on Mali soil per the invitation of the government was a prominent factor in France's decision to pull its military forces out. The withdrawal is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

Trump: Nuclear weapons issue is Hoax, just like Russia

Former US President Donald Trump dismissed a report that FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago residence in aim to search for classified nuclear weapon documents.

"Nuclear weapons issue is a Hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia was a Hoax, two Impeachments were a Hoax, the Muller investigation was a Hoax and much more. Same sleazy people," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump also questioned why the FBI wouldn't allow his lawyers to be present during the inspection, accusing them of 'planting' evidence in the mansion.

In a recent poll, over three-quarters of Republicans believe that the political enemies of former President Donald Trump are behind the FBI’s recent raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Trump suggests FBI 'planting' evidence at Florida residence

Following a dramatic raid that sparked outrage among Republicans, former US President Donald Trump complained Wednesday that he had been barred from re-entering his Florida resort home and suggested that FBI agents might be "planting" evidence there.

"The FBI and others from the Federal Government would not let anyone, including my lawyers, be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged and otherwise looked at during the raid on Mar-a-Lago," Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

"Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, 'planting.'"

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has refused to provide details about the raid at the palatial West Palm Beach residence, a stunning escalation of the multiple legal investigations into the 45th President.

US media outlets reported that agents were conducting a court-ordered search in connection with the possible mishandling of classified documents sent to Mar-a-Lago after Trump left the White House in January 2021.

The raid was condemned as politically motivated and a "weaponization" of the Justice Department by Trump and other top Republicans.
