"Konnech also exports many of its products to customers in Canada and Australia"

  • Foreign registered election systems company supported by Governor Gretchen Whitmer

Leading software provider Konnech creating up to 51 high-wage jobs in East Lansing

LANSING, Mich. – Mid-Michigan continues to secure its position as a hub for high-tech jobs as Okemos-based Konnech, a leading provider of election management software, expands and establishes its headquarters in East Lansing with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced today.

The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $293,610 and create 51 well-paying new jobs over a two-year period. The company chose Michigan for the project over a competing site in Los Angeles or the possibility of keeping the jobs in offshore locations.

“Konnech’s growth is great news for our state, our families, and our economy, and further underscores the competitive advantages our state has to offer growing tech businesses,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “Our future is bright, and thanks to companies like Konnech and partners like MEDC, LEAP, the MSU Foundation, and others, we can stay laser-focused on growing our economy and creating good jobs for Michigan residents.”

Founded in 1999 in East Lansing and incorporated in Okemos in 2002, Konnech provides election management solutions including programming, hosting, technical support and training of election logistics services to large U.S. cities and counties. Konnech also exports many of its products to customers in Canada and Australia.

Konnech received a state grant $306,000 from Michigan Economic Development Corp. / Michigan Business Development Program to support its expansion project in MI

Tech firm gets state aid to create 51 jobs in East Lansing

LANSING—Okemos-based Konnech Inc., a provider of election management software, plans an expansion and relocation of its headquarters to Lansing with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund.

Officials at the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced a $306,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to support the project. East Lansing was chosen over sites in Los Angeles and overseas for the expansion.

Founded in 1999 in East Lansing and incorporated in Okemos in 2002, Konnech provides programming, hosting, technical support, and training in election logistics services to cities and counties in the United States, as well as units of government in Canada and Australia. The expansion became necessary due to Konnech’s decision to onshore some of its contracted services.

Konnech will lease the second floor at 325 E. Grand River Ave. in downtown East Lansing from the Michigan State University Foundation.

“On behalf of the MSU Foundation, we want to officially welcome Konnech to the City Center building as they continue to grow and engage with our student and alumni community to create the next generation election systems around the world,” said Jeff Smith, director of real estate at the MSU Foundation.

Konnech have a subsidiary, ABVote and PollChief

ABVote® is a voter information platform that provides election information for every voting residence. It also creates the forms for citizens from each State to apply to register or request an absentee ballot.

The users may access the program via smart phones and/or computers. Both mobile app access and web voter access go to a single election administrator back-end management system.

In the generic version the election information is provided based on the user's address, and in the customized version the information can additionally be provided on the personalized information provided by the voter. In either version it provides:

One click to input the user’s current location– by GPS, LBS (location-based services), or IP address

Locate an upcoming election or most recent past election

Find polling place and opening hours

View map and directions from residence to polling place

View the election calendar and optionally set up election alerts

View of the relevant sample ballot

Background information about the candidates and ballot initiatives (one-click Google search), and

Contact the user’s local and State election administrators.

It generates the forms for:

Voter Registration Application

Absentee Ballot Request

Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) for Registration/Absentee Ballot Request for Uniformed and Overseas Voters (UOCAVA)

Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB) for UOCAVA Voters

Full unvoted ballot delivery to UOCAVA Voters whose jurisdictions have contracted for UOCAVA electronic ballot delivery

It can notify the users of important election dates by push notices or email alerts.

The system can be customized to provide electronic delivery of ballots for UOCAVA or disabled voters, and can also be set to provide online registration.

Security is the most significant attribute of this platform. The system has passed penetration testing from two well-known U.S. test laboratories, follows the guidelines of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), scrubs the users’ personal data, and was developed with the experiences designing it for use in Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey, and Montana, as well as with the Federal Voter Assistance Program (FVAP). In addition, the smart phone mobile app was tested by City of Detroit under the terms of a grant from the Federal Voter Assistance Program.

We are also looking for your participation to enhance the platform. Civic and voting support groups are encouraged to provide feedback. Casual users are invited to forward this app or the web site link to friends. Election administrators are invited to peruse the information posted for their jurisdictions and to post their data at no charge; contact us to be given access to your jurisdiction’s specific service/support channel.

ABVote® in North America is administered by Votem, Inc., and by Konnech throughout the rest of the world.

Please contact us at info@konnech.com or give us a call at 1-800-381-1499 or 517 381-1830.

Konnech election systems (Chyna) taking over elections in Australia (and messing them up) caused an outrage.

Australia - Inquiry slams ECQ for slow council election results ( Konnech )

In early 2018, the ECQ had signed a contract with global company Konnech to create a new management system that would feed vote counts directly into a linked website.

When the previous ECQ commissioner had stepped down in 2018, the project to overhaul the ECQ's system was considered to be high risk and without proper governance.

By March 2020 the program was still not ready, the parliamentary report said there had been significant changes to the original contract, since legislation governing Queensland councils had required more reporting of financial donations.

The scope of these changes were "massively underestimated" ahead of the March 2020 elections and there had been "inadequate assessment" of Konnech's ability to code such major changes.

Early this year, the final delivery of the ECQ's new management system was nearly complete but impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown ofWuhan in China, where most coding resources were based.

'Letter to Economics and Governance Committee Australia regarding Konnech voting systems

Excerpt -

As a further request, we ask that you immediately start an investigation into the use of Konnech in the last state election to determine whether there was any electoral fraud given that Konnech is a CCP backed company without a front office run by Eugene Yu of LJ Communications in Michigan.

We believe Eugene Yu is now based in Brisbane. Outsourcing of electoral processes to a foreign hostile power does not seem to be a very smart decision for the Queensland Electoral Commission to have made. It should never have been made and a proper explanation MUST be provided to the people of Queensland.

“There is no allegation in this indictment that any American was a knowing participant in this illegal activity,” Rosenstein said. “There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the outcome of the 2016 election.”

Future proves past:

In an effort to preserve the integrity of all U.S. ELECTIONS, as ordered by the President of the United States, after an extensive investigation in select counties (the ‘sampling’), the DHS has concluded that while Russian entities (as outlined within SC Mueller’s investigation were complicit in attempting to undermine the presidential election of 2016) had no direct impact or bearing on the outcome of the presidential election, nor were any U.S. person(s) knowingly part of such an attempt to sabotage as it relates to the Russian investigation, U.S. and other foreign entities (as further described within DHS[XXXX]), acting outside of Russian agents, did attempt on numerous occasions, and were successful, in interfering w/ the presidential election of 2016, senate ELECTIONS of [x, y, z], [x] ELECTIONS, whereby several million of illegal, non-resident ballots (the “irregularities”) were counted, while legal ballots were improperly tabulated and/or intentionally mishandled. We believe these actions were a coordinated attack against the democracy of our country.

The DHS will be submitting a final report to the WH/DOJ/other state and local agencies outlining our findings as early as March [ ], 2018. While this report only encompasses a sampling of twenty-two (22) counties across the U.S., it is strongly suggested, based on the evidence provided, that a mandated countrywide investigation begin under the recommended US50-EIC guidelines as set forth in Section VII of the final report. Furthermore, based on our immediate findings, we recommend the adoption of 8(E)(F)(G)(H) be made immediately to combat sources & methods currently being deployed to …………………………..
