Russian MiG-31 Jet Chases British Spy Plane Out After it Violates Airspace: Russian MoD
The UK and its NATO allies fly aerial reconnaissance and strike mission practice drills along Russia's northern, western, southern and eastern air and maritime borders on a regular basis, with the Russian Air Force scrambling fighter jets whenever foreign jets, bombers or unmanned aerial vehicles approach too close to Russian territory.
A Royal Air Force electronic surveillance aircraft violated Russian airspace in the Barents Sea, with a Russian MiG-31BM jet that was scrambled to intercept it pushing it out of the area, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced.
"The aerial target violated the state border of the Russian Federation in the area of Cape Svyatoy Nos. The actions of the crew of the MiG-31BM forced the reconnaissance aircraft out of Russian territory," the military said in a statement late Monday.
The foreign aircraft was identified as a Royal Air Force Boeing RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft.
The MoD did not elaborate on what "actions" the MiG-31BM took to force the intruder out.

Lawsuit Filed Against CIA, Pompeo Over Alleged Illegal Spying on Assange Allies
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - A lawsuit has been filed against the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and former CIA Director Mike Pompeo for illegally spying on attorneys and journalists who visited with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange when he was at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, court documents showed on Monday.
"Each of the named plaintiffs, and hundreds of others, visited WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange while he was living under political asylum at the Embassy of the government of Ecuador in London, United Kingdom," the complaint said. "Prior to their visits each visitor was required to surrender his or her electronic devices, e.g. smartphones, laptops etc. to employees of Defendant Undercover Global (UC Global)."

Burry's Scion Asset Management held only a $3.3 million stake in Geo Group, a new filing shows.
Scion owned $165 million of stocks at the end of March, excluding its Apple put options.
Michael Burry, the investor of "The Big Short" fame, slashed his US stock portfolio to a single holding in the second quarter, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing showed on Monday.
Burry's Scion Asset Management disclosed just over 500,000 shares of Geo Group, worth $3.3 million. Geo invests in private prisons and mental-health facilities and commands a market capitalization of less than $900 million.
Close followers of Burry are likely to interpret his decision to effectively liquidate his portfolio as a bad omen. The hedge-fund manager diagnosed the "greatest speculative bubble of all time in all things" last summer and said owners of meme stocks and cryptocurrencies were careening toward the "mother of all crashes."
More recently, he hastold investors not to get too excited about the recent rally in stocks, as previous downturns have seen many temporary rebounds before finding a bottom.
He also said the "silliness" in markets during the height of the pandemic had returned and tweeted over the weekend that he"can't shake that silly pre-Enron, pre-9/11, pre-WorldCom feeling,"referring to the euphoria that preceded the dot-com crash.
