>Laura Bush ran a stop sign in the 1963 car crash that killed her high-school sweetheart.

The full report reveals that then-17-year-old Laura Welch drove her Chevrolet sedan into an intersection and struck a Corvair sedan driven by her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, also 17.

Douglas was thrown from the car and suffered a fatal broken neck. Laura and her passenger, Judy Dykes, were treated for minor injuries, according to press accounts of the accident at the time.

The police report said the weather was clear the night of the accident, Nov. 6. It said neither driver was drinking. The speed of Laura’s car was illegible on the report.

“As far as we know, no charges were filed,” Midland City Attorney Keith Stretcher said. “I don’t think it’s unusual that charges weren’t filed.”

LTC (Ret.) @AVindman spoke with @MSNBC about defending Ukraine, making it clear that they're in this position because Trump left them vulnerable. Vindman also notes that Trump's callousness towards national security should be of concern regarding what was retrieved at Mar-a-Lago.

The President, after all, is the 'Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.' U.S. Const., Art. II, § 2. His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security…flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant.
