Liz Cheney Says January 6 Committee in “Discussions” with Mike Pence’s Lawyers About Testifying

RINO loser Liz Cheney on Friday said the January 6 Committee is actively in “discussions” with former Vice President Mike Pence’s counsel about testifying.

“We’ve been in discussions with his counsel,” Cheney said during a sit-down interview with ABC’s Jon Karl.

“Look, he played a critical role on January 6. If he had succumbed to the pressure that Donald Trump was putting on him, we would have had a much worse constitutional crisis. And I think that he has clearly, as he’s expressed, concerns about executive privilege, which, you know, I have tremendous respect. I think it’s, you know, hugely important constitutional issue in terms of separation of powers,” Cheney said.

“I believe in executive privilege. I think it matters. But I also think that when the country has been through something, as grave as this was, everyone who has information has an obligation to step forward. So, I would hope that that he will do that,” Cheney said.

“So, you think we’ll see him here in September in this room before the committee?” Karl asked.

“I would hope that he will understand how important it is for the American people to know every aspect of the truth about what happened that day,” Cheney said.

Cheney was asked if Trump would be asked to testify to the January 6 Committee.

“I don’t want to make any announcements about that this morning. So, let me just leave it there,”

Maryland GOP Gov Hogan: Trump-backed state party governor nominee is a 'nut,' not 'mentally stable'

Hogan has also previously referred to Cox as a "QAnon whackjob"

Outgoing Maryland GOP Larry Hogan is escalating his comments about the mental health of his state party's Trump-backed gubernatorial nominee, whom Hogan earlier this week called a "nut" and not "mentally stable."

Hogan, an outspoken critic of former President Trump, made the comment Wednesday on WGMD-FM, a conservative-leaning radio station on the Delmarva Peninsula.

"He's not, in my opinion, mentally stable," Hogan said of nominee Dan Cox, according to The Washington Post. "He wanted to hang my friend, Mike Pence, and took three busloads of people to the Capitol."

Cox last year called Pence a "traitor" because as Trump’s vice president he rejected calls to stop Congress from certifying the 2020 election results inside the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, when the riot started.

Cox, a state delegate who attended the MAGA rally before the riot, later apologized for using such language and denounced the violence that day in the nation's capital.

Hogan, who this weekend is at the Iowa state fair – considered a must-stop for prospective presidential candidates – also said in the radio interview that Cox has "no chance whatsoever" of winning Maryland’s gubernatorial election in November. (Among registered voters in the state, Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-to-1.)

Cox said in response: “Hogan has a problem with telling the truth and mounting smear antics.”

Hogan has also previously referred to Cox, who strong opposed Hogan's pandemic mandates, as a "QAnon whackjob."

DOJ wrongly withheld memo on Russia probe: Appellate panel

A watchdog group previously sued for the memo, which the DOJ argued was exempt from disclosure

A federal appeals panel ruled on Friday that the Department of Justice improperly withheld parts of an internal memorandum discussing the potential prosecution of then-President Donald Trump on obstruction of justice charges following the Mueller investigation.

The March 24, 2019, memo came from the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel and was intended for Attorney General William Barr to evaluate in considering the pursuit of charges, according to the Associated Press.

A watchdog group previously sued for the memo, which the DOJ argued was exempt from disclosure. A federal judge disagreed and ordered the DOJ to hand over documents to Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics. They did so, but withheld the memo arguing it exempt as an internal deliberation.

The memo reportedly highlighted Mueller's failure to determine whether Trump committed a crime, saying “Mueller had declined to accuse President Trump of obstructing justice but also had declined to exonerate him.” It further suggested that “the Report’s failure to take a definitive position could be read to imply an accusation against President Trump,” according to the AP.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit asserted that the memo did not fall under the exemption the DOJ cited, asserting that the agency failed to assert that its content were part of Barr's decision making before he issued a statement on the report.

“Because the Department did not tie the memorandum to deliberations about the relevant decision, the Department failed to justify its reliance on the deliberative-process privilege,” they wrote.

Bill Gates Successfully Lobbied Joe Manchin to Pass Climate and Spending Bill

In a recent article, Bloomberg details Bill Gates’ efforts to lobby Joe Manchin over the climate and spending bill known as the “Inflation Reduction Act” even though it won’t reduce inflation according to nonpartisan experts. Gates worked hard to ensure the passage of the bill as it would further his creepy vision of a transition to clean energy.

Bloomberg reports that tech billionaire, sex pest, and noted global meddler Bill Gates spent significant time lobbying Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) over new legislation that Gates claimed would combat global warming and climate change. Gates reportedly spoke to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in an attempt to keep the climate bill alive.

In an interview, Gates said: “[Schumer] said to me on one call that he’d shown infinite patience,” Gates replied: “You’re right, and all you need to do is show infinite plus one patience.”

Bloomberg reports:

Gates was banking on more than just his trademark optimism about addressing climate change and other seemingly intractable problems that have been his focus since stepping down as Microsoft’s chief executive two decades ago. As he revealed to Bloomberg Green, he has quietly lobbied Manchin and other senators, starting before President Joe Biden had won the White House, in anticipation of a rare moment in which heavy federal spending might be secured for the clean-energy transition.

Those discussions gave him reason to believe the senator from West Virginia would come through for the climate — and he was willing to continue pressing the case himself until the very end. “The last month people felt like, OK, we tried, we’re done, it failed,” Gates said. “I believed it was a unique opportunity.” So he tapped into a relationship with Manchin that he’d cultivated for at least three years. “We were able to talk even at a time when he felt people weren’t listening.”

Now, the bill has been signed into law by President Joe Biden following a unanimous Democrat vote. The bill is a landmark victory for Democrats who succeeded in passing it without a single Republican vote. “I am confident this bill will endure as one of the greatest legislative feats in decades,” said Chuck Schumer at the signing of the bill earlier this week.

Breitbart News’ John Carney reported this month that the Inflation Reduction Act will not only fail to lower inflation, but will also increase deficit spending for four years:

The Inflation Reduction Act, which nonpartisan analysts say would not reduce inflation, would shrink budget deficits by $101.5 billion between this year and 2031, the Congressional Budget Office said in an estimate on Wednesday.

Between this year and 2027, however, the budget deficit would grow by $24.6 billion. The nonpartisan budget analysis agency sees the deficit falling next year as new tax provisions kick in and then being higher in each year until 2028.

The shift is due to expectations in the timing of when changes in drug pricing would take effect. The 10-year cost is also reduced by the sunsetting of some of the spending provisions, something that has been attacked by Republican lawmakers as a gimmick that conceals the true cost of the bill.
