You clearly insinuate that the Germans actually elected Hitler.

But they "elected" him like the US elected Biden.

The Nazis were in the minority after the last "free" vote.

Hitler eventually prevailed upon a weak (conservative) President to appoint him Chancellor. They thought they could control him.

But the Nazis then manufactured a series of crises, and when they managed to propose a bill that would give Hitler dictatorial power (the Enabling Act) they were able to prevent a sizeable portion of the legislators from actually showing up to vote.
