In a major embarrassment for banking giant JP Morgan and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), a federal jury in a US criminal trial has convicted Michael Nowak, global head of JP Morgan’s precious metals trading and former LBMA board member, on 13 counts of attempted price manipulation, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and spoofing prices in the gold, silver, platinum and palladium futures markets.

The same criminal trial jury, in a trial which was presided over by federal judge Edmond E. Chang of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, also convicted Nowak’s colleague and JP Morgan precious metals trader, Gregg Smith, on 11 counts of attempted price manipulation, commodities fraud, wire fraud, and spoofing. In a US federal trial, the jury the verdict has to be unanimous.

The charges against the JP Morgan global precious metals trading desk traders were brought by the US Government’s Department of Justice (DoJ) Criminal Division in a trial officially called “United States v. Smith (1:19-cr-00669)”. Joe Biden Enlists China Owned TikTok to Partner with Federal Voting Assistance Program in 2022 Midterm Elections

It is well-known TikTok is owned by Beijing-based technology company ByteDance, which was founded in 2012 by Chinese billionaire Zhang Yiming.

For this reason, President Trump announced he was going to ban TikTok.

Trump wisely issued three Executive Orders banning American businesses from working with TikTok (or WeChat).

President Trump did not allow any branch of the Federal government to use the CCP’s TikTok.

Joe Biden revoked President Trump’s TikTok Executive Orders in June of 2021.

Even the head of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requested Apple and Google in June to remove TikTok from their app stores due to ‘serious national security threats’ posed by the said mobile app, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

In a letter dated June 24, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr told Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores as it “harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data” from its American users.

Now this…

Joe Biden just welcomed TikTok into a formal partnership with the Federal Voting Assistance Program, a U.S. government agency set up to help overseas voters in the upcoming US midterm elections.

TikTok just launched their U.S. “Midterms Election Center”.

Users of their App will be fed “election information”, not to be confused with what the CCP labels “Election Misinformation” in 40 languages and hopefully English is one of these. Among other things, the CCP’s TikTok will instruct people here on how to vote by mail in their respective States.

You simply cannot make this up.

“We believe the world will be a better place if every citizen has access to accurate, unbiased and non-partisan election information — who is on the ballot and what they stand for — so they can make informed decisions about their vote. We are pleased to work with TikTok to help their community not only understand the candidates and their positions but also to empower them to feel confident when they cast their ballot.” – Leslie Graves, Ballotpedia Founder and CEO.

FDA directs Pfizer to test second dose of Paxlovid for ‘rebound’ infections

Company must produce results by September of next year.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is directing U.S. biomedical company Pfizer to produce a second round of tests for its COVID antiviral drug in order to treat those who suffer from “rebound” infections of the disease.

The FDA said in a letter to Pfizer earlier this month that the company would be required to “conduct a randomized placebo-controlled trial in patients with ‘COVID-19 rebound’ following an initial treatment course of PAXLOVID to evaluate a subsequent 5-day treatment course of PAXLOVID.”

“Pfizer will provide topline results by September 30, 2023,” the agency said.

“Rebound infections” have been reported among individuals who appear to have nearly recovered from COVID, with the most notable being that experienced by President Joe Biden last month into this month.

The letter was first reported on by Bloomberg this week, to whom Pfizer confirmed that it was “working with the FDA to finalize a protocol to study patients who may be in need of retreatment.”

Federal Judge Dismisses Maine Lawsuit Against Democrat Gov. Janet Mills and Several Hospitals over COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit filed by a group of medical professionals against Governor Janet Mills and several Maine hospitals that argued they were subjected to unlawful discrimination because of Maine’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate.

Plaintiffs argued that the lack of a religious exemption in the vaccine mandate infringed on their right to free exercise of religion.

The chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, Judge Jon Levy ruled in favor of Gov. Mills and the hospitals in a ruling issued on Thursday.

Judge Levy wrote that the vaccine mandate was “rationally based” and that “no further analysis is required,” AP reported.

“Reducing the number of unvaccinated healthcare workers at designated healthcare facilities in Maine is rationally related to the government’s interests in limiting the spread of COVID-19, safeguarding Maine’s healthcare capacity, and protecting the lives and health of Maine people,” Levy wrote.

More from AP:

The workers had remained anonymous since filing the suit until July, when a federal appeals court in Boston said they must reveal their identities. The workers also argued it was their religious right to decline the vaccine over the belief that fetal stem cells from abortions are used to develop them.

Liberty Counsel, a law firm representing the health care workers, said in a statement on Friday that it would appeal the dismissal. The firm said in a statement that Levy’s dismissal was “critically flawed” and “contrary to recent Supreme Court precedent involving COVID restrictions on places of worship and many other Supreme Court decisions.”

The vaccine mandate went into effect in October. The plaintiffs hoped to take their case to the U.S. Supreme Court, but the court declined to hear arguments in the suit earlier this year. The high court did not explain its decision at the time.

The lawsuit named some of the largest health care networks in the state as defendants. One of those networks, Northern Light Health, said in a statement on Friday that it had been validated by the court’s ruling.

“Our health care organization continues to strive always to act in the best interests of our patients and our staff in these challenging times, and we’re gratified that the court completely validated our conduct in this matter,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, a group of healthcare workers sued NorthShore University HealthSystem over their COVID vax mandate, as TGP reported.

They said that they were denied religious exemptions despite the fact they shared their religious beliefs with NorthShore University HealthSystem.

NorthShore has decided to settle, to the tune of $10 million.

According to estimates, those who were fired over the mandate can receive about $25,000 — and those who ended up getting the vaccine after being denied an exemption on the basis of religion can receive around $3,000.

The plaintiffs in the case are each going to receive about $20,000 each.

‘In God We Trust’ Signs Going Up in More Texas Schools

The motto “In God We Trust” is being displayed in a growing number of Texas schools thanks to a law that recently went into effect requiring its display in a prominent location in public schools and institutions of higher education in the Lone Star state.

Texas state Sen. Bryan Hughes, a Republican, co-authored Senate Bill 797, which was passed last year and requires schools to display the motto as long as the signs featuring it came from private donations, at no cost to taxpayers.

“The national motto, In God We Trust, asserts our collective trust in a sovereign God,” Hughes said in an Aug. 17 statement on Twitter following an appearance for a Northwest Austin Republican Women’s Club event earlier in the week.

Hughes shared a photo of one of the signs, saying he’s encouraged by people “coming forward to donate these framed prints to remind future generations of the national motto.”

The law states that Texas public schools and institutions of higher learning must display the national motto in a “conspicuous place,” and an increasing number of signs featuring the words have been donated to school districts across Texas.

Patriot Mobile, a Texas-based cellphone company, donated several “In God We Trust” signs to Carroll Independent School District (ISD) campuses, saying in a statement on social media that they’re “proud to be a part of having our nation’s motto hung in our public schools.”

“Our mission is to passionately defend our God-given, Constitutional rights and freedoms, and to glorify God always,” the company added.

The company later clarified that they donated framed “In God We Trust” posters to “many other school districts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and we will continue to do so until all the schools in the area receive them.”

“We are honored to be part of bringing God back into our public schools!” the company said.

Carroll ISD shared a photograph of the donated signs in a post on Twitter.

Similar signs have gone up in Austin and the Houston area, according to the Houston Chronicle.

But not everyone is pleased with the law that requires the display of the “In God We Trust” signage.

Anya Kushwaha, founder of the Southlake Anti-Racism Coalition, told NBCDFW in an interview that the law is problematic as it blurs the line separating church and state.

“I feel like they don’t have a choice right now to put them up, but hopefully this will spark larger conversations about having more freedom of expression, so if they are allowed to put up signs like this there should be no reasons that other students or people can’t put up signs that have different messaging,” Kushwaha told the outlet.

Despite some objections, the signs are increasingly popping up in Texas schools, with The Yellow Rose of Texas Republican Women saying in a recent post on social media that they had donated a number of the signs to Houston area school districts.

“In God We Trust” became the official motto of the United States in 1956 when President Dwight D. Eisenhower put his signature on a bill that gave it the force of law.
