God is a title, like mailman or waiter. You haven't identified the particular mailman until you name him in particular. That is why, when confronted with the term god/God, I always ask, 'Which god?"
Have you ever noticed there seems to be some confusion as to "God's" intentions at certain moments in the bible? Men wrote that book. How accurate were they in their god identification? Isn't the devil guilty of imitating and trying to usurp "God"? Well?

Is there some confusion as to what the name really is? or is the real name being hidden for a specific purpose? There's a commandment not to use the LORD God's name in vain. Hiding the name would serve that purpose. Or is there a more sinister reason? To keep true believers from calling on His real name because it is a source of great power. (Don't use the name in vain). What's "God's" name?
