Baltimore post office discovers 2020 mail-in ballots

"If there’s another pandemic, I'll get a hazmat suit and just go in-person": voter who received mail-in ballot about two years too late

More than two dozen Baltimore voters received their 2020 election ballots earlier this month after the U.S. Postal Service discovered a tray of undelivered mail nearly two years too late.

The Baltimore City Board of Elections is working to figure out why the ballots were delivered late. President Biden won the heavily-Democrat city by a landslide – about eight votes to every ballot cast for then-President Trump.

Mail-in ballots technically should be prioritized, but some southeast Baltimore homes received their 2020 ballots this month.

"The Postal Service discovered a tray of undelivered mail in a Baltimore facility on Friday, Aug. 5," a USPS spokesperson told WMAR-TV.

The spokesperson also said the tray had what appeared to be 26 blank ballots from the Baltimore City Board of Elections to addresses with a Baltimore ZIP code and that they were delivered Aug. 6.

"We deeply regret the late delivery of these mail pieces," he also said.

Baltimore City Election Director Armstead Jones said: "It would’ve been nice if they could’ve contacted us, so the voters wouldn’t have been confused."

Jones, who worked as a part-time postal worker in college, said that while individual pieces of mail can be lost, "having a tray lost is a little different story."

Nick Frisone, a Baltimore resident who received his 2020 ballot this month, said he is unlikely to go back to mail-in voting.

"If there’s another pandemic, I’ll get a hazmat suit and just go in-person," he said.

Maryland has experienced other issues in recent elections. The Frederick County Board of Elections decertified the state's 2022 primary election results in the county after finding a problem with vote totals earlier this month.

Lachlan Murdoch sues Australian website over article connecting Fox to Capitol Riot

On Monday, the outlet published demands that Murdoch sent to them regarding the article

Lachlan Murdoch, son of Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch and the company's top executive, filed a state of claim against an Australian website over an article it published linking the network and its personnel to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Crikey, an Australian news and opinion site, published a June 29 article labeling Fox News and its anchors as "unindicted co-conspirators" to former President Donald Trump in instigating the riot.

"If Trump ends up in the dock for a variety of crimes committed as president, as he should be, not all his co-conspirators will be there with him. Nixon was famously the 'unindicted co-conspirator' in Watergate," the article read. "The Murdochs and their slew of poisonous Fox News commentators are the unindicted co-conspirators of this continuing crisis."

Murdoch, in turn, blasted the article for alleged defamation, prompting the Crikey staff to challenge him to prove his case in court. Murdoch, on Tuesday, filed the state of claim, according to The Hill.

On Monday, the outlet published demands that Murdoch sent to them regarding the article and presented a response, arguing that the Crikey article does not mention Lachlan Murdoch by name, but refers instead to Rupert Murdoch, using only the surname.

Crikey also acknowledges referring to "The Murdochs" in the final paragraph, which says that "The Murdochs and their slew of poisonous Fox News commentators are the unindicted co-conspirators of this continuing crisis.”

The outlet further blasted Murdoch for allegedly attempting to suppress another outlet.

"We didn’t start this senseless altercation with Lachlan Murdoch. We may not be as big, rich, powerful or important as him, but we have one common interest: we’re a news company that believes in publishing, not suppressing, public interest journalism," they wrote.

Republicans: Biden Must Disclose How Much Taxpayers Are Paying for NGOs to Fly Illegal Aliens into U.S.

House Republicans are asking President Joe Biden to disclose how much American taxpayer money is being used to pay non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to fly border crossers and illegal aliens into the United States.

In January, records from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed that the Biden administration has been flying border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior on domestic commercial flights — allowing them to use arrest warrants and deportation orders as legitimate forms of identification.

From January 2021 to October 2021, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) flew nearly 45,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the U.S. interior. Since Biden took office, TSA officials say almost 1,000 of those arrivals have used arrest warrants and deportation notices as forms of ID to board domestic commercial flights.

Now, a group of House Republicans is demanding Biden’s DHS disclose the number of border crossers and illegal aliens flown into the U.S. interior, the cost to taxpayers, and how much money NGOs have made in facilitating the operation.

“Given the fact that American citizens are constantly being reminded that their IDs will soon need to be REAL ID compliant to board an airplane, it is extremely troubling that TSA is allowing illegal aliens to use nonsecure documents as IDs to board planes,” the Republicans write:

In January 2022, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) confirmed to members of Congress that between January 1, 2021, and October 31, 2021, TSA allowed approximately 45,000 illegal aliens to board planes without presenting identification (ID) included on TSA’s acceptable forms of ID list. Instead of providing acceptable forms of ID, these illegal aliens presented DHS-issued documents. [Emphasis added]

And last month, Acting Administrator David Pekoske testified that so far this calendar year TSA permitted “under 1,000” individuals to travel “with arrest warrants or deportation notices” instead of approved forms of ID. This number seems extremely low given the fact that DHS has released nearly 500,000 illegal aliens into the United States so far this year. [Emphasis added]

The fact that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being used either directly or indirectly to pay for illegal aliens to be transported throughout the country is a slap in the face to all law-abiding, tax-paying Americans. Instead of using taxpayer funds to transport illegal aliens, DHS should be using those funds to acquire additional detention space so that it may detain the illegal aliens as required by the law. [Emphasis added]

Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Michael Cloud (R-TX), Jody Hice (R-GA), Tom McClintock (R-CA), Bob Good (R-VA), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Ralph Norman (R-SC), Ron Estes (R-KS), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Scott Perry (R-PA), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Chip Roy (R-TX), Bill Posey (R-FL), Mary Miller (R-IL), Ken Buck (R-CO), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Ben Cline (R-VA), Debbie Lesko (R-AZ), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Andy Harris (R-MD), and Dan Bishop (R-NC) signed the letter.

Top IRS Scandal Conspirator And Lois Lerner Henchwoman To Head Up The IRS’ New Centralized Office

This is Problematic For America

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will have nearly 87,000 new IRS agents due to Joe Biden’s newly signed Inflation Reduction Act, and the IRS will be creating a new centralized office and five subsidiary offices to manage their increasing wealth and power.

Guess who will be in charge of establishing the new centralized office? Nikole Flax, who worked for Lois Lerner during the IRS’ improper targeting of tea party groups during the Obama administration, is in charge of building the office. Flax had numerous meetings in the Obama White House during the IRS targeting program and then she later allegedly suffered a computer crash that supposedly deleted some of her emails. What a joke!

The IRS is training its troops to use deadly force, presumably against American citizens:

“A key part of our efforts will be the creation of a new, centralized office for implementation of all IRS-related provisions. Building off our successes implementing other major legislative bills, the IRA 2022 Transformation & Implementation Office will work across the IRS and oversee our implementation efforts,” wrote Charles Rettig, the commissioner of the IRS, in an email to IRS bureaucrats.

“Given the wide scope of the new legislation, the new office will be supported by five subsidiary offices that will be focused on specific areas: implementation of new tax law provisions, taxpayer services transformation, tax compliance transformation, human capital transformation, and communications and outreach efforts. The new office will work closely with the business units to implement the act, and with IT to align our modernization efforts,” Rettig stated.

So who is Nikole Flax?

In June 2014, I wrote an article headlined “Meet The Seven IRS Employees Whose Computers ‘Crashed.'” In the article, I wrote: “Nikole Flax, former chief of staff to IRS commissioner Steven Miller: Flax was a busy bureaucrat during her tenure at the IRS, where she worked for Lerner in the exempt organizations division among other roles. Flax made 31 visits to the White House between July 12, 2010 and May 8, 2013, according to White House visitor logs. Flax’s visits started in the early days of the IRS targeting program and ended just two days before the IRS scandal broke on May 10, 2013. Flax met twice in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building with Jeanne Lambrew, a top adviser to President Obama who exchanged confidential information on conservative groups with Lerner. Flax previously worked at the Joint Committee on Taxation as a legislative counsel, but left about six years ago, sources told TheDC. Flax attended Louisiana State University. She is married to Ryan H. Flax, a litigation consultant at the Washington firm A2L Consulting and a former intellectual property lawyer at the major D.C. law firm Dickstein Shapiro. The couple live in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Reached by phone, Ryan Flax declined to comment for this report, telling TheDC that he is “not really a part of this [controversy].'”

In September 2014, I reported: “The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) improperly obtained donor lists from nonprofit groups as part of a “secret research project” being run by Lois Lerner and other officials…Lois Lerner and Nikole Flax, who were both part of the “secret research project,” both suffered computer crashes that allegedly wiped out their emails, according to the IRS.”

In September 2014, I reported: “The staff of former IRS exempt organizations (EO) division director Lois Lerner were angry in the early days of her conservative targeting program because their pared-down office environment reminded people of “flying coach.” Top-level employees of the division were routinely subjected to “constant interruptions and distractions” during this prime phase of the tea party targeting. As The Daily Caller exclusively reported, Lerner and her underling Nikole Flax, a frequent White House visitor, announced the new program scrutinizing tax-exempt applicants at a conference at Washington’s Grand Hyatt Hotel in February 2010. Lerner and Flax, whose computer crashes allegedly deleted both of their emails, looked at conservative donor information as part of a “secret research project” approved by then-IRS commissioner Steven T. Miller.”

Africans sue UK over colonial-era abuses

Kenyans forced off their lands under British colonial rule have lodged a case with a top European court

A group of Kenyan activists filed a case against the UK to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Tuesday. Lawyers representing peoples forced off their land in Kenya’s Rift Valley argue the UK has violated the European Convention of Human Rights, to which it is a signatory, by consistently ignoring complaints lodged by the victims of colonial rule.

“The UK government has ducked and dived, and sadly avoided every possible avenue of redress,” Joel Kimutai Bosek, representing the Kipsigis and Talai peoples, has said. “We have no choice but to proceed to court for our clients so that history can be righted.”

The British Empire ruled Kenya between the late 19th century and 1962. The peoples living in the Rift Valley were forced off their lands in the early 20th century. Today, the area around Kericho, the biggest town in the Valley, is a major tea-growing region farmed by multinational majors.

“Today, some of the world’s most prosperous tea companies, like Unilever, Williamson Tea, Finlay’s, and Lipton occupy and farm these lands and continue to use them to generate considerable profits,” the plaintiffs said in a statement.

Previously, the Kipsigis and Talai took their cause to the UN, where a special investigative panel expressed “serious concern” last year over London’s failure to acknowledge its share of responsibility or issue an apology for colonial-era abuses. The complaint to the UN was signed by more than 100,000 people who suffered from colonial rule or their descendants, demanding an apology and reparations for their land being ceded to white settlers.

Filing the case with the ECHR has been praised by the outgoing governor of Kericho County, Paul Chepkwony, who said it was “a historic day” for the whole region.

“We have taken all reasonable and dignified steps. But the UK Government has given us the cold shoulder … we hope for those who have suffered for too long that their dignity will be restored,” Chepkwony stated.
