Macron warns of ‘end of abundance’

France is heading toward a difficult period of “anxiety,” requiring “sacrifices” to be made, the president said '

France is headed toward the “end of abundance” and “sacrifices” have to be made during what is a time of great upheaval, President Emmanuel Macron told his cabinet on Wednesday upon returning from summer break.

The country has faced multiple challenges lately, ranging from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine to the unprecedented drought that has battered the whole European continent this summer. Yet, Macron believes that the crisis is actually of a much bigger scale and that structural changes are imminent.

“Some could see our destiny as being to constantly manage crises or emergencies. I believe that we are living through a tipping point or great upheaval. Firstly, because we are living through… what could seem like the end of abundance,” he said.

The country and its citizens must be ready to make “sacrifices” to meet and overcome the challenges they are facing, he continued. “Our system based on freedom in which we have become used to living, when we need to defend it sometimes that can entail making sacrifices,” Macron added.

This overview that I’m giving − the end of abundance, the end of insouciance, the end of assumptions − it's ultimately a tipping point that we are going through that can lead our citizens to feel a lot of anxiety.

“Faced with this, we have duties, the first of which is to speak frankly and very clearly without doom-mongering,” Macron stressed. The president called upon his cabinet to show unity, be “serious” and “credible” and urged ministers to avoid “demagogy.”

“It’s easy to promise anything and everything, sometimes to say anything and everything. Do not give in to these temptations, it is demagoguery,” the president said, adding that such an approach “flourishes” today “in all democracies in a complex and frightening world.”

“Swatting” is the action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.

This is a dangerous prank used by the American left against their political opponents. It is very dangerous because it could lead to a violent confrontation if the police are not aware of the situation.

Election Integrity: Alabama ES&S Voting Machines Accepted XEROXED Ballots During Machine Testing

This past weekend, Mike Lindell hosted the Moment of Truth Summit in Springfield, MO. Election integrity activists and experts from around the country had the opportunity to present their individual states and discrepancies they’ve found. Throughout this week, The Gateway Pundit will be highlighting some of these states and their findings here on the website.

Many of these states you may have thought “well, at least we have _. That’s a GOP stronghold. It’s fire engine red!” But you may be shocked to find out how even the reddest of states can be manipulated utilizing these machines and unclean voter rolls. Election integrity should never be a partisan issue.

Here are some highlights:

In one county in Alabama, the ES&S voting machine accepted a Xeroxed copy of a mail-in ballot during Logic and Accuracy testing.

Rather than address this very serious vulnerability. the ES&S representative told them there’s no way people would do this and that you would see people feeding xeroxed ballots through the machines.

They decided to try this experiment in another county (believed to be Baldwin County) and took a ballot to a print shop to make copies. The print shop should have refused to print copies of a legal US ballot, but rather asked “how many copies do you need?” instead.

The machines in a second county accepted xeroxed copies. Better yet: these ballots were “shaped” to fit with scissors and still accepted!

It should be made into law that a print shop cannot knowingly print copies of an official ballot now that we know these machines will accept a copied (counterfeit) ballot.

Seven different precincts in their investigation had more votes than voters when comparing the Ballot Accounting Certificates with the tabulator tapes.

The unanimous vote passed on July 22 just four days after it was submitted.

Joe Biden announced Tuesday he was sending another $3 billion of US taxpayer dollars to Ukraine for their war efforts.

The Biden family has a long history of business and kickbacks with the Ukrainians.

The Ukrainian government cracked down on free speech again this week by identifying and targeting the “information terrorists” in the country.

Twitter’s “Tricky” Timing Problem: Lawsuit Reveals Back Channel with CDC to Coordinate Censorship

“Tricky.” Over the course of 110 pages in a federal complaint, that one descriptive word seemed to stand out among the exchanges between social media executives and public health officials on censoring public viewpoints. The exchange reveals long-suspected coordination between the government and these social media companies to manage a burgeoning censorship system. Twitter just reportedly suspended another doctor who sought to raise concerns over Pfizer Covid records. Former New York Times science reporter Alex Berenson is also suing Twitter over his suspension after raising dissenting views to the CDC. In the meantime, Twitter is rolling out new procedures to combat “misinformation” in the upcoming elections — a move that has some of us skeptical.The recently disclosed exchange between defendant Carol Crawford, the CDC’s Chief of digital media, revealed a back channel with Twitter and other companies to censor “unapproved opinions” on social media. The “tricky” part may be due to the fact that, during that week of March 25, 2021, then CEO Jack Dorsey was testifying on such censorship before Congress and insisting that “we don’t have a censoring department.” It seems that any meeting on systemic censorship with the government would have to wait until after Dorsey denied that such systemic censorship existed.

The exchange is part of the evidence put forward by leading doctors who are alleging a systemic private-government effort to censor dissenting scientific or medical views. The lawsuit filed by Missouri and Louisiana was joined by experts, including Drs. Jayanta Bhattacharya (Stanford University) and Martin Kulldorff (Harvard University). Bhattacharya objected this week to the suspension of Dr. Clare Craig after she raised concerns about Pfizer trial documents.Those doctors were the co-authors of the Great Barrington Declaration, which advocated for a more focused Covid response that targeted the most vulnerable population rather than widespread lockdowns and mandates. Many are now questioning the efficacy and cost of the massive lockdown as well as the real value of masks or the rejection of natural immunities as an alternative to vaccination. Yet, these experts and others were attacked for such views just a year ago. Some found themselves censored on social media for challenging claims of Dr. Fauci and others.

The Great Barrington Declaration was not the only viewpoint deemed dangerous. Those who alleged that the virus may have begun in a lab in China were widely denounced and the views barred from being uttered on social media platforms. It was later learned that a number of leading experts raised this theory with Fauci and others early in the pandemic.

Fauci is accused of quickly scuttling such discussion and critics point to his own alleged approval of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab. Fauci and other leading experts now admit that the lab theory is a real possibility, even if they do not agree that it is the best explanation. Social media companies like Facebook declared that the previously banned “conspiracy theory” would now be allowed to be discussed. Yet, some in the media continued to push the media to avoid discussing it. The New York Times science writer Apoorva Mandavilli declared the theory “racist” even as Fauci and others were saying that it is now considered a possible explanation.

FBI Mar-a-Lago Warrant Had 'No Legal Basis': Constitutional Lawyers

Two constitutional lawyers who worked in the Bush and Reagan administrations say that the warrant used to search former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence had no legal basis.

A former president’s right under the Presidential Records Act supersedes the statutes the Department of Justice and FBI used to carry out the raid earlier this month, wrote David Rivkin Jr. and Lee Casey, who both served under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

“The judge who issued the warrant for Mar-a-Lago has signaled that he is likely to release a redacted version of the affidavit supporting it. But the warrant itself suggests the answer is likely no—the FBI had no legally valid cause for the raid,” they wrote in the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

Earlier this month, federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart unsealed the warrant and property receipt, showing that it allowed FBI agents to obtain all “physical documents and records constituting evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§793, 2071, or 1519.”

And the materials that could be seized are “any government and/or Presidential Records created between January 20, 2017, and January 20, 2021,” which encompasses all of Trump’s presidential term.

As a result, the two scholars said that “virtually all the materials at Mar-a-Lago are likely to fall within this category” but “federal law gives Mr. Trump a right of access to them.”

“His possession of them is entirely consistent with that right, and therefore lawful, regardless of the statutes the FBI cites in its warrant,” Rivkin and Casey wrote.

“Those statutes are general in their text and application. But Mr. Trump’s documents are covered by a specific statute, the Presidential Records Act of 1978,” they said, adding that a Supreme Court decision in 1974 affirms their argument. “The former president’s rights under the [Presidential Records Act] trump any application of the laws the FBI warrant cites.”

Libs of TikTok shared a video in which an individual discussed using "god" as a pronoun.

"'God' is me validating my agender-ness," the person noted in the video, before going on to state, "I don't view myself as a god. I'm an atheist, I don't believe in gods."

The individual claimed not to have a gender and said that "it's like I'm existing" as well as "not existing at the same time — god" and "I am a being" but also "not a being … like god."

"People can get offended. That's fine, but nothing else validates my agender-ness like that pronoun," the person said.

"This is a crazy person. Plain and simple. Also the peroxide q-tipping is gross," Republican Party of Arizona chair Kelli Ward tweeted in response to the video that Libs of TikTok had highlighted.

The bizarre discussion of pronouns featured in the video reflects yet another example of the seemingly bottomless abyss of radical leftist gender ideology that has become a disturbing and absurd aspect of modern society.

First lady Jill Biden has once again tested positive for COVID-19 in an apparent “rebound” case, her office said in a statement Wednesday.

The statement added that Biden “has experienced no reemergence of symptoms” and will remain in isolation in Delaware.

Western Leaders Announce More Military Aid to Ukraine as Kyiv Marks Its Independence Day

KYIV—Ukraine was “reborn” when Russia invaded six months ago, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Wednesday, marking 31 years of his country’s independence from the former Soviet Union with a vow to drive Russian forces out completely.

After days of warnings that Moscow could use the anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day to launch more missile attacks on major urban centres, the second biggest city Kharkiv was under curfew after months of frequent bombardment.

The anniversary fell exactly six months after Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine. Wednesday’s celebrations were cancelled but many people marked the day by wearing embroidered shirts that are part of the national dress.

In an emotional speech to his compatriots, Zelenskyy said Russia’s attack had revived the nation’s spirit.

“A new nation appeared in the world on Feb. 24 at 4 in the morning. It was not born, but reborn. A nation that did not cry, scream or take fright. One that did not flee. Did not give up. And did not forget,” he said.

The 44-year-old leader, speaking in front of Kyiv’s central monument to independence in his trademark combat fatigues, vowed to recapture Russian-occupied areas of eastern Ukraine as well as the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014.

“We will not sit down at the negotiating table out of fear, with a gun pointed at our heads. For us, the most terrible iron is not missiles, aircraft and tanks, but shackles. Not trenches, but fetters,” he said.

He and his wife later joined religious leaders for a service in Kyiv’s St. Sophia cathedral and laid flowers at a memorial to fallen soldiers.

London’s Metropolitan Police Service Will Take No Further Action in Jeffrey Epstein Investigation

The UK’s Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) will not be taking any further action over allegations made against disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein due to “the absence of any further information.”

MPS said in a statement that it had been contacted in March 2021 with a fresh allegation of indecent assault against Epstein, but that the complainant did not wish to make a statement or for officers to pursue the claim.

The police had also been contacted in 2019 with another allegation of sexual assault by Epstein but that individual also did not wish to make a formal complaint or want officers to pursue the allegations, police said.

The force said that any further investigations into human trafficking by the convicted sex offender would focus on his activities and relationships outside of the United Kingdom.

“The Metropolitan Police Service has been liaising with other law enforcement agencies who led the investigation into matters related to Jeffrey Epstein,” officials said in a statement. “Detectives have thoroughly reviewed information provided to it and in the public domain. In the absence of any further information we will be taking no further action.”

“As with any other matter, should new and relevant information be brought to our attention we will assess it,” the statement added.

MPS had already dropped investigations into allegations of sex trafficking from 2001 made in 2015 against Epstein because it primarily involved figures outside of the UK, police said.

‘Not the Appropriate Authority’

In a statement at the time, MPS said it “always takes any allegations concerning sexual exploitation seriously. Officers assessed the available evidence, interviewed the complainant, and obtained early investigative advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.”

“Following the legal advice, it was clear that any investigation into human trafficking would be largely focused on activities and relationships outside the UK. We, therefore, concluded that the MPS was not the appropriate authority to conduct inquiries in these circumstances and, in November 2016, a decision was made that this matter would not proceed to a full criminal investigation.”

Epstein was convicted of sex crimes in 2008 and was sentenced to house arrest in Florida. He was arrested again in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges and was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell on Aug. 10, 2019. Officials said he committed suicide while awaiting trial for the charges.

In June of this year, Epstein associate and former British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for trafficking young women to be used for Epstein’s sexual exploits between 1994 and 2004. She is set to be released from prison in 2037.

In February, Britain’s Prince Andrew, who was closely connected to Epstein, settled a lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre, who alleged that Epstein had arranged for the prince to sexually abuse her when she was 17.

Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, had categorically denied Giuffre’s claims in her lawsuit, telling the BBC in 2019 that he had “no recollection” of ever meeting Giuffre, despite photographic evidence of the two together.

The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount.

Targeting America: Biden’s China Ambassador Headlines Chinese Communist Group Event on U.S. Farmland.

The reach of the Chinese Communist Party into the Biden admin is worthy of full investigation.

President Joe Biden’s Ambassador to China headlined an event sponsored by the U.S.-China Heartland Association (USCHA), a Chinese Communist Party-linked foreign influence group targeting American farmers and farmland.

Ambassador Nick Burns – who worked for consulting firms representing the Chinese regime prior to joining the White House – addressed the recent U.S.-China High-Level Agricultural Dialogue hosted by the U.S.-China Heartland Association (USCHA).

Founded by former Democrat Governor of Missouri Bob Holden, the USHCA purports to be a “bipartisan organization committed to building stronger ties between the USHCA Region (20 states located in the USA between the Great Lakes to the Gulf) and the People’s Republic of China.”

“Our focus will be on Trust Building efforts connecting government officials; business leaders; educational and community interests with like-minded institutions between the Heartland Region and the People’s Republic of China,” the group’s mission statement euphemizes.

The USHCA, however, appears to be used by several Chinese Communist Party-controlled organizations to gain access to American agricultural officials and company representatives. This includes sponsoring trips to China for Americans, often in exchange for “favorable coverage” and lucrative deals.

Among the Chinese Communist Party influence groups that collaborate with USHCA are the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and China United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF), both of which are part of Beijing’s United Front Work Department.

The United Front Work Department is a billion-dollar operation executed by the Chinese Communist Party seeking “to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence foreign individuals and the policies of foreign states to serve Beijing’s interests,” according to the federal U.S.-China Security and Economic Review Commission.

The U.S. State Department also compares the United Front to the Chinese regime’s “magic weapon” to advance its preferred policies.

“Close to 200 high-level participants, including an array of governmental, educational, national and international agri-business leaders attended this dialogue,” explains a summary of the event’s attendees headlined by Ambassador Burns.

Despite these ties, Ambassador Burns was a featured speaker alongside his Chinese Communist Party counterparts.

He used his speech to urge for more collaboration between China and the U.S. on agricultural endeavors, insisting “Agriculture is going to be priority for me as it is for our president as it is for Secretary [Tom] Vilsack.”

“Maintaining a constructive relationship on agriculture with the People’s Republic is going to be very important for the overall bilateral relationship,” he continued.

Ambassador Burns’s participation in the event follows the USHCA and other farming-focused Chinese Communist Party influence groups increasing their overtures towards American farmers amidst ongoing supply chain issues.

Ex-Universal Orlando worker convicted of attempting to meet minor for sex

A former employee at the Universal Orlando Resort theme park was convicted this month on a charge of attempting to meet a minor for sex, according to the Justice Department.

Dennis Lee Line is a 51-year-old resident of Winter Springs, Florida.

A jury found Line guilty on one count of attempting to coerce or entice a minor to engage in sexual activity, the DOJ said in a release dated Aug. 11.

The feds said Line began exchanging messages with an undercover officer he believed to be a 15-year-old girl in February.

The pair later exchanged text messages in which Line offered to teach the girl about sex by performing oral sex on her.

The feds said Line attempted to meet with the girl after leaving his shift at Universal Orlando. He was promptly arrested when he arrived at the site.

An arrest affidavit showed that Line used the online alias “Stephen” and purportedly told the undercover officer that he was “absolutely okay” with their age difference, Click Orlando reported.

Line told the detective “I can teach you stuff” during their interaction and said they should “definitely meet tonight,” the outlet previously reported.

The Post has reached out to Universal Orlando representatives for comment on the situation.

Line faces anywhere from 10 years to life in federal prison. He is slated to be sentenced on Nov. 2.

Prior to working at the theme park, Line was a teacher at Oviedo High School in Florida for 18 years, according to the DOJ. He left that job in 2019.

Biden Energy Department Nominee Serves On Board For ‘Pariah’ Nation’s Energy Company

David Crane, a nominee for the Department of Energy’s (DOE) undersecretary for infrastructure position, is a listed board member of the state-owned Saudi Electricity Company, according to the company’s website.

Crane was nominated by President Joe Biden on Aug. 3 to lead the DOE’s efforts in implementing the provisions of the 2021 infrastructure bill, and the White House touted Crane as a “leading business advocate in the realm of sustainability,” according to an official announcement. If he is confirmed by the Senate, Crane will help supervise the distribution of $62 billion from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which designates funding for the construction of roads, bridges and trains.

Crane joined the Saudi energy company’s board in January 2021 and was paid a total of $100,000 over the course of the year, according to financial disclosures filed last week. Neither the White House nor the DOE mentioned Crane’s ties to Saudi Arabia in their announcements; however, they touted Crane’s previous work with climate-focused energy groups that look to implement net-zero initiatives.

Saudi Arabia is the world’s second-largest producer of crude oil and also produces almost all of its electricity using fossil fuels, according to a 2020 Energy Information Administration analysis. After pledging to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah” in response to the assassination of a prominent dissident, Biden quietly attempted to get Saudi Arabia to adopt greener policies during his July visit; however, this attempt failed.

Crane also owns up $65 million in shares and warrants in an electric vehicle charging company that is poised to make gains under the infrastructure bill’s programs, according to the disclosure. The company spent a total of $320,000 lobbying Congress, the Department of Energy and other agencies on multiple issues since July 2021 including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that Crane may oversee, according to Senate lobbying disclosures.

Crane promised to divest his stake in the company no later than 90 days after his Senate confirmation. He also vowed to forfeit the stock if he was unable to successfully divest from the charging company.

The White House and DOE did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Lockdown Forever: German Govt Approves Covid Rules, Mask Mandates for Autumn and Winter

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Cabinet approved legislation Wednesday that ensures basic protective measures against the coronavirus pandemic are continued during the fall and winter when more virus cases are expected.

The presentation of the rules – which also include the new obligation to wear N95-type face masks during all long-distance travel by train and bus as well as on planes – coincided with the publication of photos showing the chancellor and German Economy Minister Robert Habeck flying to Canada earlier this week without wearing masks.

The pictures triggered strong public criticism of an alleged double standard for politicians and regular people. Currently, medical face masks are mandatory on planes and public transport though N95-style masks are recommended.

Justice Minister Marco Buschmann and Health Minister Karl Lauterbach told reporters that the specific pandemic rules that apply to the German air force, which operates government flights, were met and that everyone on the flight, which also included German business leaders and reporters, took a PCR test before boarding the plane.

Still, the justice minister conceded that “politically, I would recommend to us as a federal government that we apply the same rules everywhere that apply elsewhere.”

“Because otherwise, of course, the feeling arises that you’re willing to impose something on the citizens that you don’t want to impose on yourself,” Buschmann added. “And that’s why I can also understand to some extent that there´s so much talk about it.”

In addition to the mandatory use of N95-type masks during long-distance travel, the new measures, which will apply from Oct. 1 to April 7, will also include a nationwide obligation to wear masks in and test before accessing hospitals, nursing homes and similar institutions with vulnerable people.

Beyond that, Germany’s 16 states will have the authority to adopt their own rules depending on how severely the virus affects their areas. State governments could decide to require masks on local public transportation, in schools for students in the fifth grade and up, and at public indoor events. If the virus spreads widely again, the number of people at public events can be limited and testing can be demanded.

The justice minister stressed that there would be no more lockdowns or school closures no matter how the pandemic develops during cold-weather seasons.

“Students were certainly the group that suffered the most in the pandemic … especially in terms of exercising their right to education, especially in terms of school closures,” Buschmann said. “And that´s why I’m also glad that we were able to quickly agree that the instrument of school closures is therefore completely disproportionate.”

The new regulations still need to go to Germany’s lower and upper house of parliament for approval, but they are expected to pass.

Thousands of scientists sign formal declaration: “There is no climate emergency”

A growing number of scientists and other professionals and experts are of the same mind that so-called “global warming” and other climate change fictions are just that: fiction.

At least 1,200 of them have signed on to the World Climate Declaration, which declares that there is “no climate emergency,” despite what corrupt governments and academic institutions claim.

It turns out that the climate is always changing. And humans play little-to-no role in temperatures and weather patterns, which are dictated by factors far outside the control of mankind.

The political establishment and its official “science” outlets claim that it is a “settled” matter, but the World Climate Declaration specifies otherwise. (Related: Hundreds of scientists signed a similar declaration back in 2019 declaring the alleged climate emergency to be fiction.)

Norwegian physics Nobel Prize laureate Professor Ivar Giaever is one of the declaration’s signatories. He says that climate change dogmas are more religion than they are science – a full list of World Climate Declaration signatories is available here.

“The scale of the opposition to modern day ‘settled’ climate science is remarkable, given how difficult it is in academia to raise grants for any climate research that departs from the political orthodoxy,” reports Legal Insurrection.

“Another lead author of the declaration, Professor Richard Lindzen, has called the current climate narrative ‘absurd,’ but acknowledged that trillions of dollars and the relentless propaganda from grant-dependent academics and agenda-driven journalists currently says it is not absurd.”

Global warming is about as real as the Easter bunny

One common piece of “evidence” put forth in favor of the climate emergency narrative is the consortium of climate models, which claim to use math and science to “prove” the existence of global warming.

These climate models are central to the discussion on climate change, and yet they are merely a product of whatever their creators want them to be – i.e., they show whatever the people who made them want them to show.

“We should free ourselves from the naïve belief in immature climate models,” the World Climate Declaration states. “In the future, climate research must give significantly more emphasis to empirical evidence.”

Canada announces millions in funding for COVID isolation site

The Trudeau government has announced $4.2 million in additional funding to keep a Windsor-Essex ‘voluntary’ isolation site afloat until March 2023.

In a new release, the Government of Canada said that isolation remains one of the best ways to slow the spread of COVID despite it being over two years since COVID began and there being little to no evidence to support such a position.

The government continues, saying that the isolation site will be used to accommodate foreign agri-workers who can’t find a place to isolate when they enter Canada. “These workers tend to live in close accommodations and work in congregate settings, which makes it difficult to isolate, if required,” reads the news release.

“As Essex continues to welcome thousands of incoming agricultural workers in the coming weeks and months, this critical federal funding will provide spaces for those who are unable to isolate safely in the community,” said Windsor-Tecumseh MP Irek Kusmierczyk.

“Thank you to Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos and the federal government for recognizing the unique challenges our community faces and always standing up for Windsor-Essex.”

According to the news release, the $4.2 million given to the County of Essex will allow the site to operate 50 rooms for foreign agri-workers until March 31, 2023.

The site, formerly operated by the City of Windsor, was previously allotted $4.8 million for the same purpose, with funding lasting until June 30, 2022.

While unvaccinated foreign nationals are still prohibited from entering Canada thanks to the country’s vaccine mandate, an exemption exists for agricultural and food processing workers, marine crew workers, those making medical deliveries, and those that work with medical equipment.

However, despite the exemption, agri-workers still have to follow testing and quarantine requirements upon arrival, including a mandatory (not voluntary) quarantine requirement.

Thus, with flu season on the horizon, it looks like foreign-born agri-workers will be the first to feel the squeeze of the government’s renewed effort to bring back COVID measures.

What it would take to convince the government to end such measures permanently, rather than merely suspend them in certain areas, is anyone’s guess, and the government has made no indication they will ever admit the pandemic is over despite criticism internally and abroad.

Bill Gates Lavished the Media with $319 Million in Funding

A groundbreaking new report reveals how billionaire Bill Gates has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into media outlets all over the world.

An investigation by the outlet MintPress reports that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has distributed the funds in the form of over 30,000 individual grants.

Big news organizations like CNN, NBC, The Atlantic, The Financial Times, BBC and others have all benefited from the funding.

NPR was the largest beneficiary receiving a whopping $24 million in funding. The Guardian follows with nearly $13 million.

Gates’ funding has even stretched into Germany, with the outlet Der Spiegel benefiting from $5 million in funding. Other international outlets that received millions from Gates include France’s Le Monde and South African outlet Bhekisisa.

In total, Gates has funnelled $166 million directly to media outlets while distributing the remaining money to various media centres and journalism organizations.

Here in Canada, the World University Service of Canada received $12 million from the foundation.

Gates’ money has even flowed into Chinese media, with Caixin Media receiving $250,000 from the mogul and Tsinghua University benefiting from a $450,000 grant provided by the foundation.

In June, it was revealed that Gates also gave tens of millions of dollars to various Canadian pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

The Gates Foundation provided a total of $23 million to facilities like the Institut de Cardiologie de Montreal to “provide effective, accessible, scalable treatment for COVID-19.”

Other projects under the initiative include grants to Emerging Ag Inc. to “increase awareness and understanding of possible gene drive applications for public good purposes within international policy forums.”

Rep. Crenshaw Defends FBI As Other Republicans Denounce Agency Raid On Trump

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) said during an Aug. 21 television appearance that Republican criticisms of the FBI following its unprecedented raid of President Donald Trump’s home are “crazy,” and opined that most Republican voters don’t share this attitude.

The FBI’s Aug. 8 raid on Trump’s Florida Mar-a-Lago home set off warning bells among many Republican lawmakers, who have characterized the raid as politically motivated and lawless.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who has in the past had a sometimes adversarial attitude toward the former president, was emphatic in his denunciation of the raid.

“I’ve seen enough,” McCarthy wrote in a tweet the night of the raid. “The Department of Justice has reached an intolerable state of weaponized politicization. When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned. Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

Other Republicans, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), took it a step further.

Just days after the raid, Greene filed articles of impeachment against Attorney General Merrick Garland and has called for the FBI to be defunded.

Republicans across the ideological spectrum have demanded that the FBI and DOJ answer for the raid, but as of yet answers about the reasons for the search have been scant.

During an Aug. 22 appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Crenshaw lashed out against denunciations of the FBI, which he called “crazy.”

“Oh yes, it’s crazy,” Crenshaw said specifically when asked about the rhetoric on the FBI from within his party.

Trump Is Right. Mitch McConnell And Elaine Chao Spent Decades Getting ‘Rich On China’

For decades, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife Elaine Chao have maintained a glaring conflict of interest, conducting extensive government business despite the Chao family’s deep ties to China through a maritime shipping company. Now, former President Donald Trump is calling attention to the top Republican’s problematic China ties, while most of Washington remains silent.

“Why do Republicans Senators allow a broken down hack politician, Mitch McConnell, to openly disparage hard working Republican candidates for the United States Senate[?]” Trump asked in a Truth Social post on Sunday. “This is such an affront to honor and to leadership. He should spend more time (and money!) helping them get elected, and less time helping his crazy wife and family get rich on China!”

It didn’t take long for the corporate media to mock Trump’s assertion, framing his legitimate criticism of McConnell and Chao as unfair and unjust. Some outlets such as Vanity Fair even hinted that Trump’s comments were revenge against Chao for resigning from the Trump administration following the 2021 Capitol riot and subsequently cooperating with the illegitimate Jan. 6 Committee.

Trump’s criticism of McConnell and Chao, however, is not something to be taken lightly. For years, the McConnell and Chao families have maintained a symbiotic relationship that grants opportunities to the Chaos’ shipping company, Foremost Group, which largely operates in and on behalf of communist China.

This reciprocity is well documented, but unlike with Hunter Biden, there is less scrutiny from observers, including those on the right, for this “corruption by proxy,” as author and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer calls it.

Blood Runs Thicker than Water

As Schweizer documented in his 2018 book “Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends,” McConnell took a strong stance against China before his marriage into the Chao family. According to Schweizer, it was a 1994 trip arranged by James Chao, McConnell’s father-in-law, and sponsored by China State Shipbuilding Corp. (CSSP), one of the CCP’s largest military contractors and reportedly an unofficial arm of the CCP navy, to meet the Chinese president that pushed McConnell to “increasingly avoid public criticism of China.”

That’s likely because Chao and her family are well-connected in communist China thanks to her father’s company. Foremost is technically based out of New York but largely operates out of China, where at least 70 percent of its freight, mostly industrial, is delivered. Not only are a majority of Foremost’s ships built in state-owned shipyards, but some are even financed by the Chinese Communist Party. They are then used to deliver cargo outlined in contracts with the communist government, which has clearly stated goals to rapidly expand its industries to compete with the U.S.

Catholic Church suffers setback as court rules lawsuit brought by Pell accuser's father can continue

The Catholic Church has suffered a major blow after Victoria's Supreme Court ruled it could not use a legal loophole in a high-profile lawsuit, paving the way for the case to continue.

The choirboy died more than eight years ago from a heroin overdose, which his father claims was caused by the psychological impact of the alleged abuse.

He is now suing the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and Cardinal Pell.

Cardinal Pell, who has always vigorously maintained his innocence, had his convictions for the historical allegations quashed by the High Court of Australia.

The Catholic Church has previously conceded it could be sued in this case under Victorian legislation, which abolishes the so-called Ellis defence.

Historically, the church used the Ellis defence to prevent child abuse survivors from suing unincorporated organisations for compensation because its trustees could not be held responsible for the crimes of individuals.

But in a hearing earlier this month, the church argued that only the alleged "primary victim of child abuse" – the choirboy – could launch the legal action and not his father, because only he was allegedly subjected to it.

Lawyers defending the church told the Supreme Court that it could not be sued under the legislation because the choirboy's father does not claim that he was personally subjected to abuse.

But on Wednesday, Justice Michael McDonald disagreed and ruled that others, aside from direct victims of child abuse, could launch legal action.

"I have concluded that the application of the Act to non-government organisations is not confined to claims founded on or arising from child abuse of the plaintiff," Justice McDonald said.

Justice McDonald ordered the Catholic Church to pay the legal costs of the choirboy's father.

He did not make orders against Cardinal Pell, who he said played "no active role" in the most recent hearing.

Zelensky flees UN meeting as Russia calls out Ukraine’s crimes

Ukraine’s president addressed the UN Security Council via a crackling video-link, in breach of protocol

The UN Security Council allowed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to address it by video-link on Wednesday, after an exception was made to the in-person-only rules that Moscow’s envoy alone sought to uphold. After denouncing Russia, Zelensky decided to leave before Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia called out his government and its Western backers for being the principal threat to Ukraine’s independence.

In his presentation, Zelensky argued that the freedom of the world depended on Ukraine’s independence and accused Russia of threatening a nuclear disaster at the Zaporozhye power plant and being responsible for inflation, hunger and high energy prices. This is the second time the Security Council has voted to override its own rules and allow Zelensky to deliver a video address; it was also done in June, also over Russian objections.

Nebenzia noted the technical problems that made about a quarter of Zelensky’s speech impossible to understand. The Russian envoy also chided the Security Council for turning Wednesday’s sessions into a series of declarations by Western powers of their unconditional support for the government in Kiev, and disagreed with their argument that Russia threatens Ukraine’s independence.

The main, the only threat to the independence of Ukraine is the current government in Kiev.

Ukraine’s woes began with the illegal 2014 Maidan coup, he argued, with Western governments ever since turning a blind eye to actions by Kiev that they would never tolerate at home.

Kiev’s militants burned dissenters alive in Odessa and bombed the people of Donetsk and Lugansk in a “senseless crusade against itself,” Nebenzia argued, which resulted in the loss of Crimea and the independence of the Donbass republics. A war that lasted almost eight years could have ended at any point had Ukraine carried out its obligations under the Minsk agreements, the Russian envoy pointed out, but neither Kiev nor its Western backers were inclined to do so.

Ukrainian troops continue to shell the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and civilian infrastructure, not just in the Donbass republics but in territories until recently under their control.
