Tea Party Group Files Complaint Against Judge Who Approved Mar-A-Lago Raid — “Should Be Disciplined And Removed”

Tea Party Patriots Action has just filed a federal complaint against federal judge Bruce E. Reinhart, the judge who approved the Mar-A-Lago raid.

The complaint details the judges’ anti-Trump bias and his donations to Democrats.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Tea Party Patriots Action, the long-influential conservative group, has filed a federal complaint against the magistrate who approved the FBI raid of former President Donald Trump’s winter home, the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

In a long complaint filed in the Judicial Council of the 11th Circuit, Tea Party Patriots CEO Jenny Beth Martin’s argument was to the point: Florida-based Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart had it out for Trump.

“Judge Reinhart has a conflict of interest and a pattern and history of hostility to President Trump,” said the filing, which listed several examples including social media attacks and donations to anti-Trump critics, such as former President Barack Obama and 2016 GOP foe Jeb Bush.

One of the examples showed the judge attacking Trump over his tweet about Congressman John Lewis.

The Florida magistrate judge who reportedly signed off on the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s home allegedly disparaged the former president and shared “woke” content on what appears to be his personal Facebook page.

In a Facebook post screenshotted by Lippincott and reviewed by The Daily Wire, Reinhart wrote, “I generally ignore the President-elect’s tweets, but not this one. John Lewis arguably has done more to ‘make America great’ than any living citizen.”

“Last August, I took my son to the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma so he could understand the kind of courage and sacrifice required to live in a democratic society. John Lewis embodies that spirit,” he added. “Although I’ve never met him, he is one of my heroes.”

The complaint calls for him to be removed as a federal magistrate.

“Judge Reinhart should be disciplined and removed as a federal magistrate because of his failure to meet the standards of ethical conduct and character necessary for the public to have confidence in the nonpartisan role of a judge in a matter of this extreme public interest”

Another US politician visits Taiwan

Beijing says Washington “continues to provoke China” with visits by members of Congress to the disputed island

Another US lawmaker arrived in Taiwan on Thursday evening, continuing the series of visits by American officials to the island that started with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi earlier this month. Beijing says the trips are designed to antagonize the Chinese government and lend support to separatists.

The Taiwanese foreign ministry said on Thursday that “important guests” would be arriving in Taipei on board a US military transport, according to the Central News Agency. A Fox News producer identified the visitor as Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), who was most recently in nearby Papua New Guinea.

After touching down at Songshan airport, the American visitors would meet President Tsai Ing-wen on Friday, the CNA said. There was no comment from the American Institute in Taiwan, the de facto US embassy.

Blackburn’s visit is the fourth by senior US officials since the beginning of August, and a third trip by members of Congress.

Pelosi’s trip at the start of the month was followed a week later by a delegation of both House and Senate members from both parties. Earlier this week, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb visited Taipei as well, in what Global Times called “a toxic trend of escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait.”

“Washington, instead of reflecting on its own mistakes and correcting them, continues to provoke China,” the state-run newspaper said on Thursday. The government in Beijing also released “11 facts on Taiwan” via the state news agency Xinhua.

Beijing reacted to Pelosi’s visit by launching air and sea military exercises around the island, and by severing some military and climate contacts with Washington. On Thursday, the government in Taipei proposed a $19 billion military budget for 2023, with a major increase to cover a purchase of new fighter jets from the US, according to Reuters.

Officially, the US is committed to the “One China” policy, which matches Beijing’s position that Taiwan is an integral part of Chinese territory. However, Washington has also sold weapons and military equipment to the island, which has been ruled by nationalists who left the Chinese mainland after losing the civil war to the Communists in 1949.

Whistleblowers Detail Child Abuse, Drug/Alcohol Abuse, Prostitution At Phoenix Sojourner Center Backed By Democratic AZ Governor Nominee Katie Hobbs

Phoenix’s Sojourner Center is one of the largest domestic violence shelters in the United States, and it is branded as “a safe haven from domestic violence in Arizona.” However, multiple former employees of the Center revealed to The Gateway Pundit that constant rule violations and mismanagement of the shelter left women and children vulnerable to abuse.

“We were directly facilitating them literally abusing their children,” said one former employee (source #1) of the tax-exempt nonprofit organization, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Democratic Arizona Gubernatorial Nominee Katie Hobbs began her career with the Sojourner Center and is still closely tied with the organization. One would think that she has intimate knowledge of what is going on here.

The Gateway Pundit anonymously spoke to three former employees of the Sojourner Center who can confirm that the shelter was unscrupulously mismanaged, further endangering the vulnerable women and children housed at the facility.

We also obtained a copy of one former employee’s exit letter, which outlines their issues with the shelter’s management and unfair treatment of staff. The source alleges that higher-ups villainized staff members and always sided with the program participants when a dispute arose. This made it easy for participants to target staff members and get them reprimanded.

While serving as victim advocates with the Sojourner Center, former employees witnessed child abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, prostitution, men being allowed to live in a “shelter” with women, and “disgusting” living conditions. In their roles, our sources were responsible for victim intake, watching security footage, conducting room checks, and assisting participants and their children.

Source #1 worked at the shelter for over two months before resigning from their position in late 2021 and telling The Gateway Pundit that this job was subjecting them to “corruption and sadness.”

“They let these women live in absolute filth, and they had no standards for how the women kept their rooms, especially when there were children in them. They would have literal maggots crawling all over the food and kids playing around it. The rooms were disgusting and pretty morbid,” said Source #1. They continued, “they would have moms, and we had actual evidence of them beating their kids on audio. We would have several witnesses saying, ‘hey, this woman, I can hear her through the wall hitting her kids. The kids are in distress.'”

Other participants in the program allegedly recorded these audio tapes on their phones and reported them to the front desk at the Sojourner Center. “We listened to the audio of it happening. Participants would come to the front desk and play the audio for us, and we could clearly hear it,” said the source.

Source #1 said that their supervisors claimed they could do nothing about the child abuse and that the child was better off with their mother than in the custody of Child Protective Services. The supervisors in charge allegedly “did not document a lot of stuff because they didn’t want to show the higher-ups.”

Another source, who worked at the shelter for roughly one year starting in 2020 (Source #2), said, “I personally did make a lot of calls to CPS. However, that usually didn’t go anywhere.” They continued, “Even if we did make a report, if the family wasn’t on site or they didn’t want to talk to CPS, we couldn’t let them in. We still had to respect the privacy and the rights of clients.”

NATO chief outlines Arctic expansion

Stoltenberg cites “strategic challenge” from Russia and China to justify militarizing the polar region

NATO will increase its military presence in the Arctic on account of Russia and China posing a “strategic challenge” to the bloc there, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg argued, in an op-ed ahead of his visit to the Canadian north.

The Arctic is “the gateway to the North Atlantic, hosting vital trade, transport and communication links between North America and Europe. Ensuring freedom of navigation and unfettered access is essential to keep our economies strong and our people safe,” Stoltenberg wrote in the article, published on Wednesday in Canada’s Globe and Mail.

Due to the “rapidly warming climate,” much of the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer, which unlocks “opportunities for shipping routes, natural resources and economic development” that can be exploited by “authoritarian regimes” like Russia and China, Stoltenberg argued.

Russia is beefing up its Northern Fleet, while China is planning a “Polar Silk Road” to Europe via the Arctic, building the world’s biggest icebreaker and declaring itself a “near-Arctic state,” the Norwegian former politician wrote.

To counter this, Stoltenberg wrote, the “defensive alliance” will invest in “new air and maritime capabilities,” conduct more exercises like Trident Juncture and Cold Response, and bolster its presence in the High North overall. The Cold Response drills in Norway, which took place in March and April, involved troops from 27 countries and were the largest NATO Arctic exercise since the 1980s.

Stoltenberg also revealed that he would be visiting the Cold Lake airbase and the Cambridge Bay early-warning radar site in Nunavut as part of his Arctic tour with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

While Stoltenberg talked up the alleged Sino-Russian threat in the region, once Finland and Sweden formally join the alliance, seven out of eight Arctic Council members will belong to NATO. All of them have suspended their activities in the consulting body earlier this year, citing the conflict in Ukraine. Russia, the only non-NATO member of the council, accounts for 53% of the Arctic coastline and more than half of the region’s permanent population.

Russia has warned against the growing militarization of the Arctic, saying that Finland and Sweden joining NATO created a risk of turning the region into a “theater of military operations.”

Ukrainian Nuclear Plant Was Cut From Power Grid For 1st Time In History

Things have gone from bad to worse at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, with the looming scenario of much of Ukraine facing a giant blackout.

"The last two working reactors at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant were disconnected from Ukraine's electricity grid on Thursday after nearby fires damaged overhead power lines, Ukraine's state nuclear company Energoatom said," Reuters reports, further giving subsequent confirmation that the whole power plant has been disconnected from the power grid Thursday for the first time in its history.

The connectivity monitoring group NetBlocks is also confirming a major disruption to all communications at the plant following Ukrainian state enterprise Energoatom announcing its been completely disconnected from the power grid.

Reportedly the disconnection was due to fires as nearby ash pits, which Energoatom in its statement blamed on Russian forces: "The actions of the invaders caused a complete disconnection of the ZNPP (Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant) from the power grid – the first in the history of the plant,” it wrote.

But in follow-up, the Russian-installed regional governor announced that "at the moment, the power supply to all cities and districts of the Zaporizhzhia region has been restored" following the disruptions, suggesting that there was a major temporary power outage across the region. It appears the power supply disruption was temporary:

In a separate statement, Ukraine’s State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation, which cited the nuclear operator Energoatom, said a power line from the plant was disconnected due to hostilities in the area.

As a result, one of the nuclear power units at the plant had also been disconnected, it said.

Among the Zaporizhzhia plant's six reactors, only two are currently said to be operational. All of this comes amid a backdrop of negotiations for an IAEA emergency team to visit the complex.

Ex-AG Barr: Trump extorting GOP by backing own slate of midterm candidates

Former Attorney General Bill Barr accused former President Donald Trump Thursday of practicing “extortion” on the Republican Party by endorsing his own batch of candidates in “pursuit of a personal agenda” at a time when the GOP should be making huge electoral gains.

“This pursuit of a personal agenda and personal power is weakening the Republican Party at a time when it could have a historic victory and make historic progress in ‘making America great again,'” Barr said in an interview published on Bari Weiss’ “Common Sense” Substack.

“The tactic that Trump is using to exert this control over the Republican Party is extortion,” the former AG added. “What other great leader has done this? Telling the party, ‘If it’s not me, I’m going to ruin your election chances by telling my base to sit home. And I’ll sabotage whoever you nominate other than me.’ It shows what he’s all about. He’s all about himself.”

Barr told Weiss the “sharp leftward turn” of the Democratic Party is creating possibilities for Republicans to “seize a decisive victory” along the lines of Ronald Reagan’s election in 1980.

But instead of taking advantage, Barr claimed the party is wasting precious time purging members it considers RINOs, or Republicans in name only.

“This is how I see the Republican Party: There’s never been more consistent conservatism within the Republican Party than there is today,” he said. “The idea that there are RINOs, people that really don’t support Republican principles, is simply not true.

“What the president is defining as RINOs are people who are true-blue Republicans and conservatives but who just have a problem with Trump personally. This is all personal to Trump,” he continued.

The former president, Barr went on, wields his power by forcing the party to accept his agenda and his candidates or threatening: “I’m taking my ball and going home.”

“‘I will sabotage anyone you put up.’ He not only does that in the presidential election, but he’ll also do that in state elections. ‘It’s my person or it’s sabotage,'” he said.

Since being ousted in the 2020 ​presidential election, Trump has focused on paying back those who he thinks wronged him during his four years in office, with special attention to the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach him for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Earlier this month, Rep. Liz Cheney, one of two Republicans on the House select committee investigating the riot, lost her primary race in Wyoming to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman. ​​

Of the group of 10, only two have remained to face opponents in the general election.
