Canadians must cut meat consumption by half to reach climate goals: report

A research report published by a federally-funded consultancy group says that Canadians must cut their meat and dairy consumption by half by the year 2050 to reach federal climate targets.

The report was published by World Animal Protection and Navius Research – both of which have received funding from the Trudeau government.

Researchers concluded that to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and 40% below 2005 levels by 2030, Canadians need to cut out meat and dairy by 35% by 2030 and in half by 2050.

“We wanted to look at the potential for reducing our climate change footprint in Canada by moving away from diets high in animal protein,” World Animal Protection farming campaign manager told the National Observer. Continue…

Protesters demand release of Alberta freedom activist in Fort MacLeod

Around 30-40 protesters have gathered outside the RCMP detachment in Fort MacLeod to demand the release of freedom activist Alex Van Herk.

Van Herk was involved in the Coutts border blockade and in the GraceLife church protests.

According to Van Herk’s life-long friend Marco Van Huigenbos, Van Herk is refusing to sign a condition to end contact with Van Huigenbos who was also involved with the Coutts blockade.

Van Herk turned himself into the RCMP on Thursday afternoon.

The RCMP told True North an individual is in custody in Fort MacLeod, but said they can’t release specifics, including names, until charges are laid. Continue…

Canada set to surpass record-breaking 2021 immigration numbers

Last year, Canada saw more than 400,000 new permanent residents.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced yesterday in Vancouver that Canada is expected to achieve and surpass its lofty immigration goal for the year 2022. The target initially set for the year was to grant permanent residency to at least 430,000 people, and it now appears likely that number will be exceeded.

As stated by Mr. Fraser, “If we don’t embrace immigration to continue to bring young, working-age families into the country, our conversation 20 or 30 years from now, it may not be about labour shortages, but will be whether we can afford things like schools, and roads, and hospitals. We need to continue to embrace immigration…”

The immigration minister made the announcement while discussing tactics that he plans on implementing to bolster and support the immigration system in Canada, including adding up to 1250 new employees. The strategy of increasing employees comes amid the ministry receiving a sky-high amount of new applications for immigration.

Critics argue that mass immigration is affecting and contributing to the rising cost of housing in Canada. Prime Minister Trudeau has previously admitted that "our population is growing faster than the supply of housing." Continue…

The latest Statistics Canada data is out. It's good news for the West, which means the beatings from Ottawa will continue for Alberta until morale improves.

A report by Blacklock's Reporter details how Western Canada will outpace the rest of the country in population growth:

Western Canada within 20 years will grow by a third while Newfoundland and Labrador will be smaller and greyer, Statistics Canada forecast yesterday.

Nationwide, the seniors’ population next year will eclipse the number of children.

"Medium-growth projections on population to 2043 forecast modest gains in Québec and Atlantic Canada with sharper growth in the West and Ontario," said Blacklock's.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky admitted organizational shortcomings on Fox News while deflecting blame toward predecessors for their lockdown recommendation.

“Many of those lockdowns pre-dated me at the CDC,” she said.

Walensky, who once used ‘Trust the science’ to persuade the public, carried a humbler tone while reflecting on her organization’s decisions.

“There were important decisions that we had to make in imperfect times, with imperfect data, and we always updated those decisions as those data were evolving…”

“So, I don’t really want to re-visit the questions of lockdowns that pre-dated me, but what I will say is, we’ve updated our guidance in the context of new information, and sometimes we have to make a decision before we have all the information that we want….”

Indeed, the CDC updated guidance by removing special quarantine recommendations for unvaccinated persons, effectively admitting that vaccination status is no longer relevant when it comes to infection or spread of the Covid virus.

In fact, on July 23, the CDC deleted a ‘fact’ from their “Facts about mRNA Covid-19 Vaccines”, and they did so without explanation. Last time I checked, facts don’t change — but apparently, they do for the CDC.

Walensky further stated that “[their] science” indicated hybrid immunity was superior to natural immunity. However, we’ve reported on a scientific study that accounted for more than 5.7 million people, which showed that natural immunity is just as effective as hybrid immunity.

To this point, Walensky’s usage of science in the possessive sense — by calling it “our science” — denotes a departure from “the science,” of which they’re either arbitrarily picking from or are completely unaware.

Between Fauci stepping down and Walenski pointing fingers, it appears the blame game has officially started.

Former NACI Chair: Covid less deadly to kids than the flu

Dr. Caroline Quach-Thanh, Chair of Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) from 2017 to 2021, said that Covid is less deadly than the flu is for most age groups.

Speaking in Quebec at a provincial update on Covid 19, a reporter asked Dr. Quach-Thanh to repeat what she had said regarding the risk from Covid and other respiratory viruses in schools.

“What we’ve seen in terms of severity of Covid disease in children is that it is actually less than influenza for most age groups in terms of risk of hospitalization,” Quach-Thanh said.

“And so, at one point in time, we’ll have to treat this virus as all the others and not be as stringent in trying to see where it’s coming from, trying to prevent its transmission completely, mainly because we now have — most of us — underlying immunity, be it through vaccination and/or previous infection.”

She further stated that we’d reached a “turning point” with Covid, and kids can cope with it pretty well, just like they do with other respiratory viruses.

These statements are indicative of a continued shift in the Covid-narrative coming from public health authorities, which will presumably draw backlash from those who’ve become famous as Covid hysterics.

Last month, after Ontario’s CMO Dr. Kieran Moore warned that young, healthy people should consider the risk of myocarditis before getting jabbed for the fourth time, he was labelled an “anti-vaxxer” by those presumably still walking outside triple-masked and quad-jabbed.

Despite Dr. Quach-Thanh’s analysis of Covid, Quebec recently became the first province to approve a fifth shot of the COVID vaccine for the elderly, with eligibility soon to be expanded to all adults.

One can only imagine that with these recent concessions from Canadian authorities — and without coercive mandates — uptake will be rather low.

Moderna Sues Pfizer, BioNTech Over COVID Vaccines

Moderna announced on Friday that it's suing rivals Pfizer and BioNTech SE, claiming that the mRNA technology in their Covid-19 jab infringes on its patents.

The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court in Massachusetts as well as in Germany, seeks unspecified monetary damages for patent infringement, and sets the stage for a massive legal battle between the three vaccine makers.

In a Friday statement, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Moderna accused partners Pfizer and BioNTech of violating key mRNA patents in the development of the Comirnaty vaccine. The company says it had patents from 2010 to 2016 on mRNA technology which made its Spikevax jab possible, which the other two companies copied without permission.

Moderna said it’s not asking the courts to pull the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine from the market nor to block future sales. The company is seeking damages for the period starting March 8 of this year and says it will not seek damages for Pfizer’s sales to 92 lower- and middle-income countries. Early in the Covid crisis, Moderna promised not to enforce its intellectual property during the pandemic, but on March 7 it modified that pledge to apply only to lower-income countries, essentially making this litigation possible. -Bloomberg

"We are filing these lawsuits to protect the innovative mRNA technology platform that we pioneered, invested billions of dollars in creating, and patented during the decade preceding the Covid-19 pandemic," said Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel in a statement.

Pfizer recorded almost $37 billion in sales from Comirnaty last year, while Moderna made roughly $18 billion from Spikevax.

The lawsuit is the latest - and undoubtedly will be the largest - within the industry. Earlier this year, Alnylam Pharmaceuticals sued Moderna, Pfizer and BioNTech over lipid nanoparticle technology used in both of their Covid vaccines, while Moderna has been in a legal battle with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) over whether agency scientists should be listed as inventors on their jab.

In their lawsuit, Moderna says Pfizer and BioNTech had other options but "decided to proceed with a vaccine that has the same exact mRNA chemical modification to its vaccine" as their treatment. It also accused the pair of copying its method of encoding a full-length spike protein in a lipid nanoparticle.

New YouTube policy now permits telling truth about devastating harms and uselessness of masks for COVID

The change is supposed to have taken place sometime between mid-April and late May

YouTube apparently changed its COVID-19 “misinformation” policies earlier this year to allow users to question the effectiveness of masks against the disease.

In a recent tweet, conservative commentator Tim Poole posted two screenshots from the online Wayback Machine showing two images of YouTube’s COVID “misinformation” policy, one taken on April 13 of this year, the next from May 31.

The screenshot from April states that “Claims that masks do not play a role in preventing the contraction or transmission of COVID-19,” and claims that the masks cause physical and psychological harm, will cause a post to be taken down, and a channel that breaks the platforms policy thrice in a 90 day period will be permanently banned.

The platform’s “misinformation” policy for May does not mention policies with regard to masks and their effectiveness and shows the two bullet points relating to masks have been removed. There is still no mention of masks in the policy at the time of writing. Continue…

A new movement in Germany aims to decriminalize the act of a human having sex with an animal, also known as zoophilia.

Right now, it is illegal to do anything sexual with an animal in Germany, and members of the Zoophilia Pride March are demanding action by the government to support their perversions.

A group of Zoophilia Pride March attendees was seen holding up a large banner in multiple languages, including German, English and Hebrew. It contained the usual Pride rhetoric about “equality for all.”

Freedom activist released following peaceful protest outside RCMP detachment

Coutts border protester Alex Van Herk says the Alberta RCMP dropped a condition which would force him to end contact with his best friend and fellow protester after 200 people showed up to an RCMP detachment to protest his detainment.

On Thursday evening, True North reported that around 30-40 protesters gathered outside the RCMP detachment in Fort MacLeod, Alberta to demand Van Herk’s release. As the night went on, that crowd swelled to 200 people who protested until Van Herk was released.

“If we stand up against tyranny, we have the ability,” Van Herk told True North on Friday morning. “The power is in the people, but the people have to be there to do it.”

As True North previously reported, the RCMP told Van Herk he was being detained for obstruction of a peace officer during demonstrations at GraceLife church. The RCMP told Van Herk’s family he would be released within a matter of hours, but complications began after Van Herk turned himself in.

China threatens Canada with “forceful measures” over proposed Taiwan trip

China’s warning comes at a time when the federal government mulls sending a delegation of officials to the island nation.

“China will take resolute and forceful measures against any country that attempts to interfere with or infringe upon China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

U.S. tech group says Bill C-11 “must be rewritten”

A large tech trade group in the U.S. is calling for the Trudeau government’s controversial internet regulation bill, Bill C-11, to be rewritten, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.

“Governments should be modest about imposing obligations on the technological future,” The Consumer Technology Association of Arlington, Virginia (CTA) wrote in a submission to the Senate transport and communications committee on Thursday.

“Specifically, Canada should be cautious and precise about attempting to influence or define the information that is available to users.”

The CTA argues that C-11 fails to define what “commercial” internet programmers are and the bill does not “explicitly exempt videos uploaded on YouTube by everyday users.”

“Individuals and companies communicating on the internet were not like radio and TV broadcasters and should not be regulated under the Broadcasting Act,” said the CTA. Continue…

Ontario workers file legal action against City of Windsor for breach of Charter rights

The statement of claim filed by 20 City of Windsor employees alleges that the city breached their constitutional rights with an illegal vaccine mandate.

A group of 20 former City of Windsor employees is taking legal action against the city over what they call a breach of their Charter rights.

The plaintiffs include frontline workers and first responders previously hailed as heroes by Windsor leaders.

The group is being represented by lawyer Courtney Betty who is quoted in the press release: “The Canadian Charter of Rights requires that the City of Windsor abide by the division of powers set out in the Canadian Constitution and protect the basic rights of the plaintiffs guaranteed by the Charter of Rights. On both counts the City has failed.”

Furthermore, the release states that the employees were put on unpaid leave as of November 2021 with terminations beginning in January 2022.

“The city carried out these illegal actions outside of the mandates and guidance of the Province of Ontario and without due process. The result is destruction of the lives of many of the plaintiffs who were discarded without any means of meeting their basic needs. The negative impact on their lives continues while the city maintains the illegal practice of forced vaccination to maintain employment contrary to the guidance of the Province of Ontario and international science. Amid continued blackouts and great political unrest, the Pakistani government has threatened protesters with having their digital IDs blocked so they can’t access their bank accounts.

Interior minister Rana Sanaullah issued the threat as a warning to former PM Imran Khan (whose been encouraging protests across the country), his cabinet, and protesters after one federal minister was publicly heckled in a restaurant.

Khan has since been charged with “terrorism” after he accused Pakistani police and the judiciary of detaining and torturing one of his aids. The charge has, predictably, not gone over well for the current administration and has only revitalized protests.

Khan has been extremely critical of the current administration since being ousted from the government following a no-confidence vote in April, with his rhetoric growing increasingly accusatory in nature. For their part, the government has responded by blocking online and live TV coverage of Khan’s speeches.
