The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has denied Trump’s request to trademark the name Truth Social.

A U.S. government agency has rejected a trademark application by Donald Trump’s Truth Social because the social network’s name isn’t unique enough.

In a filing from August 2, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office said Truth Social’s name is too similar to other businesses, which could cause consumers to be “confused, mistaken or deceived as to the commercial source of the goods and/or services of the parties.”

The reason cited is that the name is not unique enough and is similar to other businesses.

The examples of similar companies that were given are Vero – True Social and the Truth Network.

The Daily Mail reported:

The patent office said the name of the company was too similar to Vero – True Social, an app-based social media platform, and the Truth Network, a Christian radio broadcast network.

They wrote in their filing that ‘the dominant wording TRUTH and TRUE communicate the same idea of being honest or emphasizing fact while networking socially’.

Trademark attorney Josh Gerben explained more about the application rejection.

Trump has until February 2023 to appeal the ruling.

12 dead, dozens injured as fighting erupts in Libya

Intense fighting between rival militant groups has left at least 12 dead and almost 90 injured, officials say

Intense fighting broke out in the Libyan capital of Tripoli on Saturday night. The city has since been engulfed by violence, according to witnesses cited by international media. The violence has claimed the lives of at least 12 people, the Tripoli-based Libyan Health Ministry said, calling it “preliminary” figures. It is also unclear whether those killed were combatants or civilians.

The fighting has also left at least 87 people injured, the ministry added. Photos and videos that surfaced on social media show plumes of black smoke billowing over the city as armed personnel and military hardware moved through its streets. Several videos also purportedly showed residential buildings being hit by artillery fire. Shooting and blasts could be heard on some videos.

Some media already described the fighting as the worst in two years, during which the war-torn nation has seen relative peace. Two governments – the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU) under Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dbeibah and its rival administration led by Fathi Bashagha supported by the Libyan parliament based in the eastern city of Tobruk – are still vying for power in the country.

Clashes erupted on Saturday night as one of the major Trlipoli-based militant groups assaulted a base held by another group supporting a different government. The militants have been using small arms as well as machine guns and mortars during the fighting.

According to Reuters, major forces, including hundreds of vehicles, are now entering the city from several sides, including west, east and south. The forces are said to be supporting the parliament-backed government of Bashagha. Yet, it is unclear if he seeks to mount an offensive on the Libyan capital and overthrow al-Dbeibah by force. Both leaders have already accused each other of disrupting the political negotiations that were expected to help the warring parties reach an agreement.

Bashagha is also supported by the Libyan eastern commander, Khalifa Haftar, who still has close ties to the Tobruk-based parliament. Haftar sought to launch his own offensive against Tripoli back in 2019 but his attack eventually failed, leading to a 2020 ceasefire and a UN-backed peace process.

The UN Libya mission expressed its concern at the shelling of civilian districts during clashes and called for an immediate ceasefire. Libya has been in turmoil since the 2011 NATO-backed coup ousted the nation’s long-time leader, Muammar Gaddafi, who was later murdered. The nation has been split between the eastern and western governments since 2014. The UN-backed peace process envisioned national elections scheduled for December 2021 but the idea was abandoned amid disputes over the vote. The development has seen tensions rising between the two rival powers again.

The vote was 12 to 0 with all members of the committee approving the subpoenas.

Liberal Group Publishes Nikki Haley’s Secret Donor List — Includes $1 Million From A Democrat Donor

A document showing a list of Nikki Haley’s secret donors has surfaced.

The document shows Haley took money from some of the GOP’s biggest donors — including Paul Singer and Miriam Adelson.

Money also came from Vivek and Lakshmi Garipalli, who are members of a family who have donated big money to Democrats.

The donations went to Haley’s nonprofit policy advocacy group, Stand For America.

Politico reported:

Many of the GOP’s biggest donors are among those who funneled anonymous contributions to former U.N ambassador Nikki Haley’s nonprofit as she lays the groundwork for a prospective 2024 presidential bid, according to previously unreported tax documents obtained by POLITICO.

Haley’s nonprofit policy advocacy group, Stand For America, Inc., has received major donations from people including New York hedge fund manager Paul Singer, investor Stanley Druckenmiller, and Miriam Adelson and her late husband, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, the Internal Revenue Service filings reveal.

The roster of supporters who gave undisclosed donations in 2019 also includes Suzanne Youngkin, the wife of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, himself a possible presidential contender; former Pennsylvania Senate candidate and hedge fund executive David McCormick; and Vivek and Lakshmi Garipalli, members of a New Jersey family that has donated large sums to Democrats — but which gave Haley’s organization $1 million.

Nikki Haley’s team tried to stop the publication of the story and sent a cease and desist letter to POLITICO over it.

Nikki Haley called the disclosure a “violation of state & federal law” and said it was meant to “intimidate conservative donors.”

Pentagon signs deal to make air defense systems for Ukraine

US arms maker Raytheon is to produce the NASAMS systems by August 2024 under the contract

The Pentagon has signed a $182-million deal with US arms manufacturer Raytheon to produce NASAMS (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems) for the Ukrainian military.

The work on short-and medium-range air defense weaponry will be conducted at Raytheon’s facilities in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, with an estimated completion date of August 23, 2024, the US Department of Defense said in a statement on Friday.

Earlier this week, US President Joe Biden announced yet another military aid package for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia. At $2.98 billion it is the largest to date, and will include six NASAMS systems.

The military assistance will be funded as part of the so-called Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), meaning the hardware will be specifically produced for Kiev, and not taken from US stocks.

In an article earlier this month, Air Force Magazine described the NASAMS as a vital piece of technology that could help the Ukrainian forces to shoot down Russian cruise missiles, which have so far been hitting targets in the country “nearly unimpeded.”

Moscow has long been critical of weapons supplies to Kiev by Washington and its allies, saying that they only prolong the conflict and increase the risk of a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia.

Federal Court Strikes Down Biden Rule Forcing Doctors To Perform Gender Transition Procedures

The Biden administration lost in court again.

A federal court upheld a lower court’s ruling that forcing doctors to perform medical procedures that were against their religious beliefs.

The lawsuit was brought by the Franciscan Alliance, a Catholic health care network.

The Epoch Times reported:

A federal appeals court on Friday struck down a Biden administration statute that forced doctors to perform medical procedures, including gender-transition procedures, against their religious beliefs.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit unanimously upheld a lower court’s ruling in Franciscan Alliance v. Becerra which protected around 19,000 health care professionals in Franciscan Alliance, a Catholic health care network, from performing medical procedures against their conscience.

The lower court’s ruling had permanently prohibited the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) “from requiring Franciscan Alliance to perform gender-transition surgeries or abortions in violation of its sincerely held religious beliefs.”

The legal counsel for the Franciscan Alliance sent out a press release celebrating the “harmful” mandate being blocked.

A federal appeals court just blocked a harmful Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate that would have forced doctors and hospitals to perform gender-transition procedures on their patients against their conscience and best medical judgment. In Franciscan Alliance v Becerra, the court ruled that a Catholic healthcare network and a group of nearly 19,000 healthcare professionals cannot be required to carry out these procedures in violation of their deeply held beliefs and professional medical judgment.

In the unanimous ruling, the Fifth Circuit affirmed the lower court’s order “permanently enjoining [HHS] from requiring Franciscan Alliance to perform gender-reassignment surgeries or abortions in violation of its sincerely held religious beliefs.” The court explained that while the government argued it should get more chances to show why it needed religious healthcare providers to participate in gender-transition procedures, other cases showed that permanent protection was appropriate—including, ironically, cases brought by the ACLU, who had intervened in Franciscan to support the government.

“This ruling is a major victory for conscience rights and compassionate medical care in America,” said Joseph Davis, counsel at Becket. “Doctors cannot do their jobs and comply with the Hippocratic Oath if the government requires them to perform harmful, irreversible procedures against their conscience and medical expertise.”

Six years ago, the federal government issued the mandate as part of the Affordable Care Act and tried to apply it to virtually every doctor nationwide. The requirement would have forced doctors to perform these procedures on any patient, including on children, even if the procedures went against their conscience and professional medical judgment. A group of religious organizations and nine states quickly sued and received protection from federal courts in North Dakota and in Texas. Today’s ruling is another successful step in this fight to protect doctors’ conscience rights.

“For years, our clients have provided excellent medical care to all patients who need it,” said Davis. “Today’s ruling ensures that these doctors and hospitals may continue to do this critical work in accordance with their conscience and professional medical judgment.”

FBI Responds to Zuckerberg’s Claims About Hunter Biden Laptop Story

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has responded to claims made by Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg that a “warning” about “Russian propaganda” had prompted the platform to limit the reach of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the election.

Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook had limited the reach of the New York Post’s bombshell story because it fit the “pattern” that the government agency had warned them about.

“The background here is that the FBI came to us – some folks on our team – and was like ‘hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert. We thought there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election, we have it on notice that basically there’s about to be some kind of dump that’s similar to that.'”

The Post obtained a copy of the hard drive after the president’s drug-addled son left his laptop at a repair shop and never went back.

When asked by Rogan if he regretted censoring the story, Zuckerberg said that it “sucks.”

“It sucks… I think in the same way that having to go though a criminal trial but being proven innocent in the end sucks… in the end you’re free,” Zuckerberg said.

The big tech CEO said that the story was a “hyper-political” issue.

Zuckerberg added, “depending on what side of the political spectrum [you’re on], you either think we didn’t censor it enough or we censored it way too much.”

According to a report from NBC News, “in a statement Friday night, the FBI said it has provided companies with ‘foreign threat indicators’ to help protect their platforms and customers, but that it ‘cannot ask, or direct, companies to take action on information received.'”

“The FBI routinely notifies U.S. private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats,” the agency said.

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, responded to the agency’s statement on Twitter.

“As we’ve said, nothing about the Hunter Biden laptop story is new. Below is what Mark told Sen. Johnson in Oct 2020 and what Mark told Joe Rogan this week. The FBI shared general warnings about foreign interference – nothing specific about Hunter Biden,” the statement said.

Google Filtering Pro-Life Pregnancy Center Results When People Search for Abortion Clinics

Google has changed its search results to distinguish pro-life pregnancy centers from abortion clinics in search results for people dealing with crisis pregnancies.

The tech giant changed the results after complaints from Democrat lawmakers.

On Thursday, Democrat Senator Mark Warner posted a letter he received from Google confirming that they were altering search results.

To please the abortion advocates, Google wrote that “in order to run ads on Search that target keywords or phrases related to getting an abortion, advertisers in the United States must complete our abortion certification process and verify whether they do or do not provide abortions.”

“Based on the information provided in the certification process, an in-ad disclosure will show: ‘Provides abortions’ or ‘Does not provide abortions.’ For example, ads from organizations that provide pregnancy tests, abortion counseling, or otherwise serve pregnant individuals — but do not provide abortions — will display the relevant disclosure making that clear,” the letter continued. “If an advertiser is not certified, it is not able to run ads using keywords related to obtaining an abortion in the United States.”

Those policies have been in place since 2017, but Google said that they are doing even more now.

“For example, we recently updated these disclosures to make them more noticeable,” the letter continued. “We have also updated our abortion certification and disclosures policy to clarify that advertisers that provide medication abortions or abortion pills — but do not dispense them to customers at their own facilities — may be certified as advertisers that provide abortions and have their ads labeled with the ‘Provides abortion’ disclosure. Our goal is to help ensure ads transparently provide the information users need to decide which reproductive health services are most relevant to them.”

Now, those who search for “abortion clinics near me” will only see facilities that have been verified to provide abortions in the Local Search results box on Google, unless they affirmatively choose to see additional results.

Pregnancy centers offer free medical and financial support to pregnant women while providing them with information on options other than abortion. Pro-abortion activists claim that the crisis pregnancy centers “trick” women into not aborting their babies because their physicians do not offer the procedure.

“I welcome the changes that Google has announced today so that women seeking abortion services aren’t directed towards fake clinics that traffic in misinformation and don’t provide comprehensive health services. Importantly, this isn’t about silencing voices or restricting speech – it’s about returning search results that accurately address a user’s query and giving users information that is relevant to their searches,” said Sen. Warner in a statement.

The changes come as pregnancy centers nationwide are being threatened and targeted. Catholic Vote is tracking the attacks on churches and pregnancy centers since the Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade leaked in early May.

As of August 27, the organization has tracked 66 attacks.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, SBA Pro-Life America president, accused Democrats and tech platforms of demonizing the centers, in a statement provided to the Washington Times.

“Google‘s motto used to be ‘Don’t be evil.’ Big Tech companies should be ashamed for colluding with the abortion industry to promote abortion, scare women and create a cloud of stigma around pregnancy centers,” she said.

“These community-based nonprofits provide critical resources to empower women that abortion giants like Planned Parenthood simply don’t,” Dannenfelser continued. “Yet despite polling that shows both pro-life and pro-choice Americans overwhelmingly support pregnancy centers, Democrats smear them as ‘fake’ – fueling vandalism and other hateful attacks – and even threaten to shut them down.”

U.S. President Biden has said he will cancel up to $10,000 student in federal student loans fees for American borrowers earning under $125,000 a year. He will also forgive as much as $20,000 for low and middle income groups who have received Pell grants.

The total federal student debt has skyrocketed over the past decade, rising from around $500 billion in 2007 to $1.75 trillion as of 2021.

As data from the Education Data Initiative shows, in 2022, an average state, including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, carried $29.0 billion in federal student loan debt.

But, at state level, the District of Columbia had the highest level of debt per borrower at $54,946, followed by Maryland ($42,861) and Georgia ($41,639).

The lowest levels of debt per borrower were recorded in Puerto Rico which had $28,242 followed by North Dakota ($28,604) and Iowa ($30,464).

UK announces drones shipment to Ukraine

The underwater vessels will help eliminate mines off Ukrainian coast, Ministry of Defence said

The UK will provide Ukraine with underwater drones which are to be used by Kiev for sweeping mines as the nation remains locked in conflict with Russia, the Ministry of Defence revealed on Saturday.

In total, six underwater unmanned vehicles will be delivered, while the UK is also set to provide relevant training to Ukrainian service members on British soil, the statement read. The ministry went on to say that three drones will be provided from UK stocks, with another three to be procured from the defense industry.

The vehicles are designed to be operated “in shallow coastal environments” at a depth of up to 100 meters, the ministry indicated, adding that drones are supposed to identify mines, allowing the Ukrainian Navy to then take them out.

According to the statement, the UK and the US will train dozens of Ukrainian Navy personnel to use the drones over the coming months, with the first group having already embarked on exercises.

The mine sweeping activities have gained urgency after Russia and Ukraine inked a UN- and Turkey-brokered deal in late July which has unblocked grain exports in the Black Sea and aims to maintain safe transit routes. In this vein, the UK Ministry of Defence argued that “efforts to get food out of the country continue to be hampered by sea mines left by Russian forces along Ukraine’s coast.”

Wheat deliveries from Ukraine, a major producer, were disrupted after Russia launched its military operation in the neighboring state in late February. Each side has leveled blame against the other for the disruption of shipments.

The Ukrainian service members that will train to operate drones will apparently join their colleagues on UK soil. In late July, the Royal Navy said that it was training 80 Ukrainian sailors to operate machinery on vessels while making sure they learn weapon drills and damage control. At the time, the navy also announced that it would sell Kiev two soon-to-be-retired Sandown-class minehunters.

Ukrainian woman posing as Rothschild family member infiltrated Mar-a-Lago: report

A Ukrainian woman posing as a member of the Rothschild banking family has been outed as a fraud after she allegedly infiltrated former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, according to reports.

Inna Yashchyshyn, 33, lied to ritzy resort members that she was the heiress to the reputed family’s mass fortune, Anna de Rothschild, according to a probe by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

She appeared at numerous Mar-a-Lago functions mingling with the likes of Trump, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham and others while she held the position as president of United Hearts of Mercy, founded by Florida-based Russian oligarch and former business partner Valery Tarasenko in Canada in 2015, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

After hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments to the foundation, processor Stripe Inc., suspected fraud and halted the funds for the campaign which was supposed to help families devastated by the COVI-19 pandemic.

Yashchyshyn, 33, is now the subject of several federal investigations after it was revealed she is not in fact a member of the Rothschild family. She’s additionally under investigation by Canadian authorities for alleged financial crimes.

In actuality, Yashchyshyn is the Russian-speaking daughter of an Illinois truck driver. It’s unclear when she came to the US.

She allegedly made several trips to the ex-president’s Florida estate with her fake identity to make connections with some of the nation’s biggest leaders, according to the paper.

Federal records obtained by the Post-Gazette and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project showed Yashchyshyn had two fake passports from the US and Canada with the name “Anna de Rothschild.” A Florida driver’s license in her name listed a $13 million Miami Beach Mansion where she never lived.

Yashchyshyn formerly worked in a suburban Miami business connecting pregnant Russian women to Americans looking to adopt a child, the Post-Gazette reported.

However, her tale of lies unfolded amid a legal dispute she had with her former associate, Tarasenko.

According to Tarasenko, a 44-year-old businessman raised in Moscow, she made multiple trips to Mar-a-Lago in an effort to make contacts and create new streams of business.

Photos from 2021 show the brunette hanging out with Trump, Graham and others, according to the reports.

“It wasn’t just dropping the family name. She talked about vineyards and family estates and growing up in Monaco,” John LeFevre, a former investment banker and author, told OCCRP.

She used “her fake identity as Anna de Rothschild to gain access to and build relationships with U.S. politician[s], including but not limited to Donald Trump, Lindsey Graham, and [former Missouri Gov.] Eric Greitens,” Tarasenko said, according to an affidavit obtained by the Post-Gazette.

Florida man arrested for trying to buy 8-year-old girl for $100,000

A Florida sex offender was arrested after he allegedly tried to “purchase” an 8-year-old girl for $100,000 at a grocery store, police said.

Hellmuth Kolb, 85, approached the child’s mom at a Winn Dixie in Port Orange Thursday and made the indecent proposal, according to the Port Orange Police Department.

Kolb was on probation and was banned from having contact with children after trying to buy a different child in Walmart in 2018, according to WESH-TV.

Lauren Benning told the station she thought Kolb was just a lonely old man when he approached her and her daughter.

“He just came up and he started making comments about how pretty she was and how good her dancing was and how he could never have children and he wanted children,” Benning reportedly said.

But the interaction soon took a dark turn, Benning told the station.

“Approached me in the parking lot. Actually chased me down in the parking lot and said ‘hey, I want to make a deal with you.’ I’d like to buy her for $100,000. I was in complete shock.”

“He needs to be locked up and not allowed to be around our children,” she reportedly said.

Human Trafficking Rings Discovered in Vietnam After 42 Victims Flee Cambodia Casino

Four human trafficking rings have been found operating across localities in Vietnam after 42 Vietnamese escaped from a casino in Cambodia where they had been duped into working and exploited.

Colonel Dinh Van Noi, director of An Giang province’s police department, said Tuesday that the trafficking rings operated “in many localities” and worked with accomplices in Cambodia to lure Vietnamese into working in casinos illegally.

A group of 42 Vietnamese escaped from the Golden Phoenix Entertainment casino in Cambodia’s Kandal province on Aug. 18 and swam across the Binh Di river separating the two nations. Five of them are women.

A 16-year-old boy who was part of the escapees was found dead in a river section of Vietnam’s An Giang province, while another worker was caught by casino guards, VN Express reported.

Vietnam’s police detained Nguyen Thi Le and Le Vand Danh for their roles in smuggling Vietnamese to Cambodia. The casino’s manager, a Chinese national, was also arrested on allegations of forced labor.

The Chinese manager admitted to forced labor practices but claimed the workers owed the casino money. Workers are subject to fines of up to $30,000 if they quit, according to local reports.

‘Hellish’ Casino

Workers fleeing the casino told police that they had been lured by job listings offering high salaries, but after arriving in Cambodia, they were forced to work illegally in several casinos without rest or pay.

One of the victims, identified as Diep by VN Express, described her four-month employment in the casino as “hell,” where she was forced to work 14 hours every day.

“We were tricked and sold to Cambodia,” she told the news outlet.

She claimed that her captors forced her to scam people into investing money in dating games and threatened her with electrocution if she did not earn VND 300 million ($12,813) monthly from the scams.

Another victim, Pham Nguyen Anh Tuan, said that he was sold to three casinos after failing to earn money in the initial months. He devised the escape plan after witnessing other Vietnamese being abused.

Pham alleged that the Chinese manager wanted to sell a sick worker who was unable to earn money for the casino. They pleaded for his release and even offered to repay his debt, but their pleas were denied.

“Besides the one who went missing and the other who was caught, we are very worried for the people who helped us escape,” he said.

The Vietnamese government has urged Cambodia to help with the investigation.

Interior Minister Sar Kheng said last week that police have begun checking foreigners staying in Kandal and Preah Sihanoukville provinces to crack down on human trafficking rings.

The British Government Has Begun Paying $140,000 for COVID-19 Vaccine Damage Victims.

Which seems to be getting no coverage in the American media. Wonder why.

The United Kingdom has rolled out a financial compensation program for individuals and families who have been harmed by the COVID-19 vaccine, despite repeated claims by U.S. corporate media entities denying any negative health impacts of the vaccines created by their largest advertisers.

Under the program, the first payments, which amount to a maximum of almost $150,000, have already been made to family members of individuals injured or killed as a result of the experimental vaccine.

Vikki Spit, whose 48-year-old partner Zion became unwell eight days after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine and ultimately, is believed to be the first recipient of a sum from the government’s vaccine damage payment scheme (VDPS).

The VPDS will compensate British citizens with a tax-free payment of up to £120,000, or nearly $141,000. Vaccines for roughly 20 diseases are eligible for payments under the program and archives of the British government’s website show that COVID-19 was added between November 2020 and July 2021.

To receive a payment, individuals must demonstrate that a vaccine left them “severely disabled,” which the British government quantifies as at least 60 percent disabled.

“This could be a mental or physical disablement and will be based on medical evidence from the doctors or hospitals involved in your treatment,” explains the application guidelines.

Family members can also apply on behalf of injured individuals, as the British government’s portal explains: “You can also apply for this payment on behalf of someone who has died after becoming severely disabled because of certain vaccinations. You need to be managing their estate to apply.”

Man Cuts His Throat After Being Confronted by ‘Paedophile Hunters’ on Livestream

A man slashed his own throat live on a Facebook stream after being confronted by paedophile hunters in the English city of Liverpool.

The Facebook Live video, now deleted, showed the man going into his car, taking out a knife, and slitting his own throat, according to a MailOnline report.

The emergency services attended the scene and took the man to hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition. Merseyside Police have not addressed the man’s fate outright, but they have confirmed that they arrested a 55-year-old man from the town of Kirkby has been placed under arrest for allegedly grooming a child under 14 and the possession of a bladed article.

Citizen “paedophile hunters” who pose as children online in order to smoke out predators who try to groom youngsters on the Internet have become increasingly successful in recent years, with BBC research revealing that an astonishing 60 per cent of grooming prosecutions in 2018 drew upon evidence gathered by them.

However, despite — or perhaps because of — this fact, the police and swathes of the establishment media are extremely hostile towards them.

Assistant Chief Constable Dan Vajzovic, the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s so-called lead for online child abuse groups, has gone so far as to allege that “[w]hen [paedophile hunters] say they are acting in the interests of children, largely they are acting in their own interests, their self-aggrandisement and their desire to exercise force against so-called perpetrators of child abuse” — although why this should matter, even if it was true, is unclear, so long as they do manage to bring groomers before the courts.

Vajzovic has also suggested that some of the prosecutions brought as a result of paedophile hunter activity “may have diverted police resources from more significant offenders,” and that, therefore, “the activity of these groups is not positive” overall.

However, the evidence does not suggest that the authorities would be pursuing an equal number of more targeted prosecutions in the absence of paedophile hunters, with The Telegraph noting that just 68 people were convicted of grooming offences in 2013, before the rise of the hunter groups, compared to 359 in 2018.

Indeed, some might argue that British police resentment of paedophile hunters might be rooted in their own sordid history of failure on child grooming, which the hunters’ success as unpaid amateurs might tend to underline.

Most notoriously, forces were far from eager to pursue mostly Muslim, Pakistani-heritage grooming gangs which operated across the country with impunity for decades, with officers told to “try and get other ethnicities” and victims’ parents told their children were “child prostitutes” making a lifestyle choice.

While failure in this area is now acknowledged, few if any officers have actually been held to account personally, with forces still seemingly plagued by political correctness and claims that grooming abuse continues largely unabated.

Ex-US Intel Chief: FBI Meddling With Biden Laptop Story’s Circulation is ‘Election Interference’

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed that his social media platform slashed the spread of the Hunter Biden laptop story due to the FBI agents showing up at the company and warning that it was a “Russian propaganda” – something that was later declared untrue despite Democrats peddling a different narrative.

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe has slammed the actions of the FBI directed at hushing the Hunter Biden laptop story on Facebook* as “election interference”. In his interview with Fox’s host Tucker Carlson, Ratcliffe said that in its internal discussions, the FBI, its chief Christopher Wray and the DoJ said they did not believe the claims that the story was a “Russian propaganda piece.”

Back at the time, major Democrats, including Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff, tried to drown the story in “Russia propaganda” allegations after it popped up just weeks ahead of presidential election in 2020. This narrative was picked up by the mainstream media outlets, many of which changed their tune almost two years later, admitting the story was legit.

John Ratcliffe says that to his knowledge the FBI did not believe the story was planted by Russia back in 2020 when it first broke.

And yet, according to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the bureau asked the social media platform to hush it up under the pretext of “Russian propaganda.”

“To hear that, contrary to what [FBI Director Christopher Wray] was saying, and the official position of the FBI that agents were acting in contradiction to that in dealings with Facebook or telling – if whistleblowers are to be believed – FBI agents to suppress information about Hunter Biden’s laptop and to amplify damaging information about then-President Donald Trump – that is entirely inconsistent with what we all knew,” Ratcliffe said.

Ratcliffe, who held the post of the Intelligence Director in the days the story unfolded, said he even made an official statement at the time dismissing the allegations regarding Russia’s involvement. Those statements were drowned in Democrats’ cries of Moscow allegedly trying to meddle in the US elections.

The ex-intelligence chief says he was shocked to hear that the FBI actually used the “Russian propaganda” claim to put the Hunter laptop story under wraps, at least on Facebook. Ratcliffe stressed that “a lot of folks” misled the American voters that year with regards to the laptop story, and suggested that what the FBI did might be considered interference in domestic politics.

“Yeah, it is election interference. And the troubling part about this, is the FBI is the primary domestic authority for enforcing election security; making sure that people don’t interfere with the American voters and American elections. And if they’re engaged in election interference, then we’ve got a real problem,” Ratcliffe said.

We Have Their Names: At Least 12 WH Officials Could Get Bailout from Biden's Student Debt Plan - Report

At least a dozen White House officials will be among the beneficiaries of the estimated $300 billion taxpayer-funded student loan debt cancellation President Joe Biden announced Wednesday.

Biden said he would be unilaterally canceling up to $10,000 in student loan debt for individuals earning $125,000 or less and families making $250,000 or less.

Those who received Pell Grants will be eligible for up to $20,000 in debt forgiveness, with the same income thresholds.

The watchdog group Inside Biden’s Basement identified at least 12 West Wing staffers and hundreds of political appointees in the Biden administration who may be eligible to take advantage of the debt cancellation.

“Based on the data we have compiled, at least 223 high-ranking Biden appointees still have outstanding loans totaling anywhere between $12.6 million and $31.2 million,” the organization said in a post on its website.

“The four agencies and offices most likely involved in formulating this policy (Education, Treasury, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the White House) also have numerous political appointees who could potentially benefit based on their own public financial disclosures,” Inside Biden’s Basement added.

White House staffers have $3,015,091 to $7,425,000 in outstanding student loan debt, according to the watchdog group.

The group lists nearly 50 White House staffers with student loans.

Fox News named 12 among them who fit the salary threshold for debt cancellation: Chris Meagher, Claudia Chavez, Hee Jung L Shim, John McCarthy, Justin Oswald, Kelliann Blazek, Maju Varghese, Michael LaRosa, Michael Leach, Rory Brosius, Shilpa Phadke and Zephranie Buetow.

Biden said in remarks from the White House regarding the program, “Now, I understand not everyone — not everything I’m announcing today is going to make everybody happy.”

“Some think it’s too much. I find it interesting how some of my Republican friends who voted for those tax cuts and others think that we shouldn’t be helping these folks,” the president continued.

“Some think it’s too little. But I believe my plan is responsible and fair. It focuses the benefit on middle-class and working families, it helps both current and future borrowers, and it will fix a badly broken system.”

The White House tweeted a graphic Thursday meant to illustrate this point, saying, “Nearly 90% of the benefits of the Biden Administration’s student loan debt relief will go to borrowers earning less than $75,000.”

“Meanwhile, 85% of the benefits of Congressional Republicans’ tax cut went to taxpayers earning more than $75,000.”
