With Morgellon's (sorry I don't have sauce at the moment, but anyone that has followed Morgellon's can probably relate) OSU had found that the people that had severe reaction to Morgellon's all had a specific gene that was shared with plants.

Apparently, the people that suffer worst from Morgellon's actually have a genetic disposition to reject the Morgellon's from assembling, and instead the Morgellon's is being "pushed" out by the body as fiber threads that itch like bugs crawling all over all the time.
