this theory states that a celestial body, with water that is identicial to earth's, in the form of ice, bumped into earth, deposited it, and then the moon and earth was formed thereafter; eventually the ice melted and created the oceans

• a series of collisions

this theory hypothesises that the 10% of cosmic debris that have the earth's type of water, impacted an already formed earth, which rained down icy obejects that eventually melted and created the oceans

• the earth was formed with water theory:

this idea postulates that during the formation of our sun, debris in our solar system, a coalescence of various solid materials and gases, including earth's specific type of water, formed planets that contained ice, which eventuallly melted on earth and created the oceans
