On May 18, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, sent a letter of invitation to President Pedro Castillo Terrones, for him to attend the IX Summit of the Americas, where the issue of sustainability and improvements for face climate change, along with other heads of state.
“It is a pleasure for me to invite you to Los Angeles, California, from June 8 to 10, 2022, for the Ninth Summit of the Americas, where the democratically elected Heads of State and Government of the hemisphere will promote our shared goal to “Build a sustainable, resilient, and fair future” for our hemisphere,” the official note states.
Joe Biden adds that the meeting will discuss the commitments assumed as a region such as “economic prosperity, security, human rights and dignity for the peoples of the Western Hemisphere.” Likewise, he stated that the challenges and opportunities regarding climate change, fair recovery, and health security will be faced.
“I am confident that this Ninth Summit of the Americas will serve as an opportunity to advance on the greatest challenges in our region and work together towards our shared goals. We look forward to your participation and welcome you to the beautiful City of Los Angeles in June,” said the US president.
