Jack Birle - 2h ago

Hundreds of followers of Shiite cleric Muqtada al Sadr breached the Republican Palace in Iraq on Monday.

Local officials have called for a curfew of 3:30 p.m. local time for the capital city of Baghdad, Iraq, amid unrest at the government palace, according to reports.

The protesters went to the palace to protest the announcement of Sadr's retirement from politics, a move that could cause severe political unrest in the country.
