Analysts Begin Quantifying “Some Pain for Americans” as Monetary Policy is Positioned to Support Green New Deal Energy Transition

August 29, 2022 | Sundance |

The financial pundits are slowly starting to drop the pretending and discuss the bigger economic picture. However, as they tread very carefully, they are being very cautious about admitting too much. A Reuters discussion of the comments by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, starts to dip the media toe in the painful pool; yet they will not admit the Biden energy program is the source of the inflation Powell is targeting with his policy moves to shrink energy demand. Thus, the pretending continues.

If you take the written words and extract the parseltongue, you can see a more fulsome picture of what is being outlined.

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo., Aug 29 (Reuters) – The message from the world’s top finance chiefs is loud and clear: rampant inflation is here to stay and taming it will take an extraordinary effort, most likely a recession with job losses and shockwaves through emerging markets. That price is still worth paying, however. Central banks spent decades building their credibility on inflation fighting skills and losing this battle could shake the foundations of modern monetary policy.

In other words, the U.S. economy is based on core U.S. energy systems and moving that construct to alternative energy, windmills, electric vehicles and solar panels; along with getting Americans to accept a lowered standard of living; is an “extraordinary effort.”…

My last and important point is this…. The multinational corporations, banks and global finance folks, do not enter into these situations without a carefully planned way to retain their own wealth. The job of a “hedge fund manager” is described in the title, to find a “hedge” against risk to continue increasing wealth.

The billionaire elites that have assembled their wealth on the old economic system will not trust anything to chance as this global cleaving of the world economy takes place. Being reactionary is not how they operate. These groups pre-stage their wealth and assets outside the zone of collateral damage. They are proactive, not reactive to these global financial events.

With the foundation of the western economic system now being changed, look carefully at the political landscape to see what Wall Street risk mitigation maneuvers are taking place. My very strong hunch on this wealth preservation facet leads me back to domestic politics, and suddenly things make sense. I’m not wrong. I am open to being wrong, but I’m not wrong.

The Build Back Better Western Energy Policy is Making Russia Very Rich

August 29, 2022 | Sundance

As the global cleaving begins taking shape based on the new western energy system, the Build Back Better agenda, Russian energy exports are worth a lot more money. As a result, the Russian economy has gained more wealth than before the western sanctions regime was triggered. As noted by the Wall Street Journal:

(Via WSJ) – […] Demand from some of the world’s largest economies has given Russian President Vladimir Putin the upper hand in the energy battle that shadows the war in Ukraine, and has confounded the West’s bid to cripple Russia’s economy with sanctions.

Sales are booming in Russia’s export market, the world’s largest in crude and refined fuels. And new trade arrangements have given Mr. Putin cover to use natural gas exports as an economic weapon against Ukraine’s European allies. Before the war, Russia supplied Europe with 40% of its gas. It has since throttled flows through the Nord Stream pipeline to Germany and other conduits, driving prices higher and putting pressure on European households and businesses.

Oil revenue more than makes up the difference. “Russia is swimming in cash,” said Elina Ribakova, deputy chief economist at the Institute of International Finance. Moscow earned $97 billion from oil and gas sales through July this year, about $74 billion of that from oil, she said.

[…] Russian energy sales have flourished by finding new buyers, new means of payment, new traders and new ways of financing exports, according to oil traders, former Russian industry executives and shipping officials.

“There came a realization that the world needs oil, and nobody’s brave enough to embargo 7.5 million barrels a day of Russian oil and oil products,” said Sergey Vakulenko, an analyst and former Russian energy executive.

After buyers in the U.S., the European Union and their Pacific allies cut back their Russian oil imports, much of it went to nations in Asia that have declined to take sides in the conflict.

An unexpected market has been the Middle East. Exports of Russian fuel oil, a lightly refined version of crude, now go to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, often stopping in Egypt en route.

The Russian oil is either burned in Saudi power stations or exported from Fujairah, a U.A.E. port and hot spot for blending Russian and Iranian oils to conceal their provenance. This is oil that before the war was shipped to U.S. refiners.

The Russian imports, purchased at a discount, free state giant Saudi Arabian Oil Co. to export its crude at market prices. “The Saudis are happy to take their oil and sell it rather than burning it,” said Carole Nakhle, chief executive at consulting firm Crystol Energy.

The arrangement adds supply to the global oil market, helping put a lid on prices. “This is a win-win situation for the Russians and even, I would say, for the Europeans and the U.S.,” Ms. Nakhle said. (read more)

Ticked-off Liberals Turn Against CNN, Launch Viral '#BoycottCNN' Twitter Campaign

Ryan LedendeckerAug 30, 2022 1:07 AM

Since former President Donald Trump’s departure from the White House, CNN has struggled to pay the bills as a result of consistently pathetic post-Trump ratings and too many scandals to keep track of. But the legacy cable news network now faces an enemy within — in the form of its once-loyal and now-spicy viewers, and the collective power of their Twitter accounts.

On Monday evening, the hashtag “#BoycottCNN” made Twitter’s coveted trending list, which means a lot of people are seeing it. I nearly brushed it off thinking it was probably just a typical conservative-led boycott of the network.

I was wrong. It was way better than that.

The backlash from the apparent shift to a moderate editorial direction under new CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht has clearly struck a nerve with its diehard, shrinking progressive audience. They’re absolutely steaming mad.

You don’t have to take my word for it

What few viewers the news network managed to retain are now running away faster than a prairie fire with a tailwind.

Kristen Browde, reportedly one of the network’s original staffers, as she claims on Twitter, pleaded with her former network colleagues “to express their serious concern” with recent changes made at the network, presumably changes related to editorial direction and a shift back to the middle from the radical, far left. Her plea was retweeted thousands of times within a few hours.

Not only are those former viewers tuning out for good, but they’re also using their Twitter accounts to tweet and retweet the hashtag as a call to arms to other once-loyal liberal viewers to trash the network for good, with many claiming MSNBC is the only source of news left to be trusted.

Only in 2022 would liberals be leading the way in trending a social media campaign to boycott CNN.

In their numerous rants included with the trending hashtag, countless CNN viewers pointed out a few recent events that confirmed rumors that the network would make a move to the middle or even to the right in an attempt to cash in on Fox News’ lucrative demographics.

One of those events was the shocking and sudden firing of Brian Stelter, the former host of Reliable Sources. CNN’s viewers made clear on social media that they weren’t happy with that particular move. Viewers also previously expressed their anger with the usually White House-friendly network when host Don Lemon questioned White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the subject of President Joe Biden’s mental fitness.

A few other instances of some of CNN’s hosts taking it easy on Republican guests has also seemingly triggered the network’s steadfast viewers, all culminating on Monday night in a call to boycott that’s continuing to pick up steam.

CNN was already struggling in the ratings department, and the network is consistently swallowed up in nearly every timeslot by Fox and MSNBC in the weekly rankings.

As PJ Media’s Rick Moran previously reported, CNN also stands to lose big money:

Licht discovered, to his horror, that the network was massively dependent on Donald Trump for ratings. Without Trump to headline CNN’s news coverage, no one was very much interested in the biased commentary and left-wing slant to the news that became CNN’s hallmark.

CNN’s profits are expected to fall below $1 billion for the first time in many years. And its prime-time coverage is drawing less than 700,000 viewers a night. Clearly, Licht had to do something.

Licht appears to be attempting a course correction, to some degree. It’s not surprising, as he is a businessman, and he presumably wants to helm a business that makes money. Garbage radical progressive propaganda won’t get him there.

It definitely feels like one of those situations where it’s going to get a whole lot worse for the network before it gets better, if it even manages to survive the metamorphosis.

This is funny because CNN taught to radical viewers, how to lue, smear, condemn and hate viciously; and now the radicals want the hate back otherwise they will burn the place down.

Moderates will have to start watching to make up for the 10% of radicals in the nation.

I hope just for the sake of driving the radicals nuts, CNN gets more market share at least to survive!

The USDA Approves $500K in Climate Change Money to Repair Parking Lots

Lincoln Brown

Obviously, people in power do not have problems with playing fast and loose with the dictates of climate change, but what happens when federal money earmarked for climate change does not go for climate change?

Just the News has the story of $740K in USDA grants for rural Pennsylvania that are designed to help communities fight climate change. In fact, according to a press release, approximately $195,000 in federal funds did indeed go towards decreasing carbon footprints and saving the planet. Much of that money went to solar panels and related photovoltaic systems. Fair enough. Whether or not you agree with the concept of climate change, at least that cash went for projects designed for that purpose.

But the town of Bloomsburg, PA, was the recipient of $500,000 to repave four parking lots. According to the release, this will benefit 30 businesses that occupy the surrounding areas. And there is nothing wrong with that. I’m all for local businesses succeeding. But how do you get $500,000 in climate cash for parking lots? Are they only for EVs and green vehicles? Will there be signs banning cars and trucks with internal combustion engines? Again, nothing wrong with parking lots. Most cities do not have enough of them. But I thought that one of the goals of combating climate change was to cut down on the number of cars and make mass transportation a reality for more people.

Actually, I have a pretty good idea of how this happened. I have spent a little time in the world of procuring federal grants and believe me, when federal cash is on the table, it is dog-eat-dog. Every agency has a wish list and I have sat in meetings in which I was told to go pound sand because a larger agency than mine wanted it and needed the money. There are no friends in a federal grant meeting. And in many cases, success or failure can depend on how well you write the grant. I’ve done it before and it is a slice of hell I never want to experience again. And someone, somewhere figured out how to write an application to take money meant for lowering the amount of CO2 in the air and use it to improve parking spaces. Hey, it happens. When it comes to federal grant money, there is a quasi-unspoken maxim that if you don’t use it, you lose it. On one level, the people in Bloomsburg who saw the opening and made their move really can’t be faulted for working the system. And something tells me the system isn’t about to change any time soon.

I wonder how many meals $500,000 would provide to people that are struggling and starving because of dementia resident?

our government thoroughly sucks!
