If any anons have federal student loans, and made payments after 3/13/2020, you can call your student loan provider and have payments refunded (takes 2-8 weeks). This is basically a way for people who recently paid off student loans to get the $10k-$20k (up to $20k if you also had federal Pell Grants when you got the loan, and you meet the income requirements) loan forgiveness that Biden just implemented. After you get your loan payment(s) refunded, you will have to apply for the loan forgiveness. The paperwork for this is not ready yet, but should be available some time in October. You do not need to wait until October to request payment refunds, you can do that now.

It’s a college student bailout essentially. As a responsible person with strong conservative values I have a problem with the whole idea of discharging student loan debt. With that said, I would rather see individuals get a “bailout” than corporations. Either way, this will ultimately prove to be disastrous (most likely).
