It doesn't end in hell, it IS hell on earth for that period, you're correct in that billions will die. The devil will be chained for a thousand years afterwards.
Jesus Christ comes to save His people and then the Millennium reign begins, after that comes the Great White Throne judgement, which precludes the destruction of Earth and Heaven. God then forms a new Heaven and new Earth wherein He dwells with us forever.
My theory is that once the evil satanic deep state is exposed fully to the people of the world there will be a mass awakening to the 'Truth' which is Jesus Christ. Many souls will be saved in this harvest before the 'Tribulation' aka time of 'Jacob's' troubles. Gives a whole new meaning to WWG1WGA if you believe in the rapture, which I do.
