Regular Use of Ivermectin as Prophylaxis for COVID-19 Led Up to a 92% Reduction in COVID-19 Mortality Rate in a Dose-Response Manner: Results of a Prospective Observational Study of a Strictly Controlled Population of 88,012 Subjects

Abstract

Background

We have previously demonstrated that ivermectin used as prophylaxis for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), irrespective of the regularity, in a strictly controlled citywide program in Southern Brazil (Itajaí, Brazil), was associated with reductions in COVID-19 infection, hospitalization, and mortality rates. In this study, our objective was to determine if the regular use of ivermectin impacted the level of protection from COVID-19 and related outcomes, reinforcing the efficacy of ivermectin through the demonstration of a dose-response effect.

Methods

This exploratory analysis of a prospective observational study involved a program that used ivermectin at a dose of 0.2 mg/kg/day for two consecutive days, every 15 days, for 150 days. Regularity definitions were as follows: regular users had 180 mg or more of ivermectin and irregular users had up to 60 mg, in total, throughout the program. Comparisons were made between non-users (subjects who did not use ivermectin), and regular and irregular users after multivariate adjustments. The full city database was used to calculate and compare COVID-19 infection and the risk of dying from COVID-19. The COVID-19 database was used and propensity score matching (PSM) was employed for hospitalization and mortality rates.

Results

Among 223,128 subjects from the city of Itajaí, 159,560 were 18 years old or up and were not infected by COVID-19 until July 7, 2020, from which 45,716 (28.7%) did not use and 113,844 (71.3%) used ivermectin. Among ivermectin users, 33,971 (29.8%) used irregularly (up to 60 mg) and 8,325 (7.3%) used regularly (more than 180 mg). The remaining 71,548 participants were not included in the analysis. COVID-19 infection rate was 49% lower for regular users (3.40%) than non-users (6.64%) (risk rate (RR): 0.51; 95% CI: 0.45-0.58; p < 0.0001), and 25% lower than irregular users (4.54%) (RR: 0.75; 95% CI: 0.66-0.85; p < 0.0001). The infection rate was 32% lower for irregular users than non-users (RR: 0.68; 95% CI: 0.64-0.73; p < 0.0001). Among COVID-19 participants, regular users were older and had a higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes and hypertension than irregular and non-users. After PSM, the matched analysis contained 283 subjects in each group of non-users and regular users, between regular users and irregular users, and 1,542 subjects between non-users and irregular users. The hospitalization rate was reduced by 100% in regular users compared to both irregular users and non-users (p < 0.0001), and by 29% among irregular users compared to non-users (RR: 0.781; 95% CI: 0.49-1.05; p = 0.099). Mortality rate was 92% lower in regular users than non-users (RR: 0.08; 95% CI: 0.02-0.35; p = 0.0008) and 84% lower than irregular users (RR: 0.16; 95% CI: 0.04-0.71; p = 0.016), while irregular users had a 37% lower mortality rate reduction than non-users (RR: 0.67; 95% CI: 0.40-0.99; p = 0.049). Risk of dying from COVID-19 was 86% lower among regular users than non-users (RR: 0.14; 95% CI: 0.03-0.57; p = 0.006), and 72% lower than irregular users (RR: 0.28; 95% CI: 0.07-1.18; p = 0.083), while irregular users had a 51% reduction compared to non-users (RR: 0.49; 95% CI: 0.32-0.76; p = 0.001).

Conclusion

Non-use of ivermectin was associated with a 12.5-fold increase in mortality rate and a seven-fold increased risk of dying from COVID-19 compared to the regular use of ivermectin. This dose-response efficacy reinforces the prophylactic effects of ivermectin against COVID-19.

Russian MoD: US to Move Unfinished Bio-Weapon Programs From Ukraine to Elsewhere in Eastern Europe

Russia previously discovered signs of several bio laboratories in Ukraine, which were seized by Russian troops and were reportedly working on pathogens that could be used in the production of the banned biological weapons. Moscow also found documents indicating that the US, namely the Pentagon, funded this research.

The Pentagon is planning to move unfinished programs for the development of biological weapons from Ukraine to other countries in the former Soviet bloc and Eastern Europe, Russia's Defense Ministry has stated during its daily press briefing.

The ministry said that it had evidence that tissue samples and dangerous pathogens are being moved from Ukraine abroad, noting that the process threatens the well-being of those regions. The Defense Ministry added that it plans to present evidence that the US and Ukraine are violating the international convention banning bioweapons in Geneva next week.

"Right now, we are seeing several publications in the foreign press with a nervous reaction from Washington to the release of extremely sensitive documents by the [Russian] Defense Ministry. Journalists note that the American intelligence services are taking unprecedented steps to prevent Russia from having access to potential witnesses close to the implementation of the classified military biological projects of the Pentagon in Ukraine," the Defense Ministry said.

The Russian Defense Ministry pointed out that instead of focusing on the research of the pathogens that were of social importance for Ukraine, such as those triggering measles, rubella, tuberculosis, or AIDS, the Pentagon invested in the research of cholera, tularemia, plague, and hantaviruses. The Russian military believes that the US was interested in this research because these viruses are endemic to Russia and any outbreak caused by the use of biological weapons could be misidentified as naturally occurring.

During the press briefing, the ministry also unveiled that it became aware of Kiev's request for the Turkish Bayraktar drone manufacturer to equip some of the UAVs with aerosol spray systems that can hold and disperse up to 20 liters of substance. The request was filed on December 15, 2021, ahead of the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry noted, calling out Kiev's attempts to prepare for the use of biological weapons against Russia.

"With a UAV flight range of up to 300 km and their equipment of containers with biological [weapons], it created a real threat of large-scale use of biological weapons in Russian territory," Chief of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kirillov said.

'The Serpent Is the Messiah’s Secret': The Key to Rabbi Berland's Toxic Charisma

Not even the gravest accusations against Rabbi Berland – or convictions and imprisonment – have shaken the faith of his pious believers. To understand why, one needs to examine the theological justification for his acts, and his use of the serpent motif to satisfy his cravings

In a recording made without her knowledge, one of the women who claimed to have had sexual relations with Rabbi Eliezer Berland describes how “he told me that only through the secret of the serpent… my whole matter with him is this… The whole matter of the serpent is Messiah’s secret, and the Messiah arrives by prohibition. It is impossible to bring him with permission […] Only from there does his light descend, from the secret of the serpent, as though it arrives in the uncleanest way.”

Israeli diplomat ‘appalled’ by Marjorie Taylor Greene comparing Biden to Hitler

Jewish groups also blast Republican lawmaker after she calls US president ‘Nazi Joe’ and shares doctored video of him surrounded by swastikas

An Israeli diplomat on Friday said he was “appalled” by US House Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene comparing US President Joe Biden to Adolf Hitler, warning that such rhetoric fuels violence.

“I am appalled by this cynical use of Nazi imagery and Hitler comparisons by a member of the United States Congress,” the diplomat said.

“As we face a rise in antisemitic incidents, in the US and around the world, rhetoric like this only fuels the persistent threat of hatred, extremism, and violence,” he said.

The diplomat spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the criticism. It is highly unusual for an Israeli diplomat to speak out against an individual American lawmaker, especially on an issue not directly related to Israel.

Greene, a Georgia Republican with a history of inflammatory rhetoric and antisemitic comments, was reacting in a series of tweets to a speech Biden delivered Thursday in Philadelphia.

"Europe On The Brink:" 70,000 Czech Protesters Flood Prague Over Energy Crisis

More than 70,000 Czechs are protesting in Prague, the capital, demanding the ruling coalition take a neutral stance on the Ukraine war to ensure energy supplies from Russia aren't cut off ahead of winter. Protesters are outraged at the European Union for sanctions against Russia that have sparked soaring electricity bills and triggered a cost-of-living crisis.

"The aim of our demonstration is to demand change, mainly in solving the issue of energy prices, especially electricity and gas, which will destroy our economy this autumn," event organizer Jiri Havel told local news iDNES and quoted by Reuters.

The protest, held at Wenceslas Square in the heart of the capital, comes one day after the Czech government survived a no-confidence vote over opposition claims of inaction to protect citizens against energy hyperinflation.

Emerging political instability shows how Europe's energy crisis fuels discontent among households. We noted a new study Friday that warned civil unrest could flare up in parts of Europe over the next six months because of the deteriorating macro backdrop of high inflation.

Czechs are tired of Western sanctions on Russia that have sparked a devastating energy crisis. They want Czech interest first over the EU's and demand cheap Russian gas and neutrality.

Prosecutor for State's Child Protection Division Arrested on Multiple Charges for Preying on Children

"It seems especially disappointing given the nature of the work that Mr. Bell was involved in…fighting against the very thing he was involved in doing.”

For 12 years, before he retired without notice in 2020, Gary Lee Bell was the assistant attorney general from the Utah Attorney General's Office where he worked in the Child Protection Division, prosecuting individuals who harmed children. His years of service are now being called into question, however, as he was arrested this month for that very act.

Bell was arrested on August 24th by Utah County sheriff's deputies and charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. According to police, the investigation into Bell was launched on May 22, 2022, after they received a tip about child sex abuse material being uploaded to social media.

According to the tip, submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Bell was distributing images and videos on an unnamed social media app of children under the age of 10 being sexually abused.

Bell’s probable cause statement confirmed that “Gary is a retired Assistant Attorney General from the Utah Attorney General’s Office where he worked in the Child Protection Division and prosecuted crimes against children.”

“It's bad when anyone gets involved in this kind of stuff,” said Sergeant Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Department, who investigated the tip. “But it seems especially disappointing given the nature of the work that Mr. Bell was involved in…fighting against the very thing he was involved in doing.”

Bell's own wife told police that her husband was a danger, claiming that he had attempted to secretly record her without permission while she was in the shower.

The nature of the material found on Bell's devices was so disturbing that the judge has ordered him to be held without bail, referring to him as "a substantial danger" to the community.

"There was some concern because there are grandchildren who are cared for in the home there," said Cannon, pointing out that Bell's wife babysits young children during the week.

"At least for now a judge has determined he is to be held without bail," he added. "That could change in the future, but for now he's being held without bail."

After his arrest, a spokesperson for the Utah Attorney General's Office issued this statement:

“Mr Bell deserves his day in court, he is innocent until proven guilty. Our office works diligently to fight the kinds of sexual exploitation Mr. Bell is accused of in the charging docket. We will continue to bring justice for every sexual exploitation case investigated and prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Bell’s prior connection to the Office will in no way prevent the course of justice to prevail.”

Netflix Film ‘Athena’ Depicts Violent Migrant Uprising Against French Police, Government

The Arab and African rebels are portrayed as heroes rising up against a racist country

The new Netflix film Athena centers on a Paris housing project comprised of predominantly African and Arab migrants who rise up against the French police and government following a police incident similar to the death of George Floyd. The migrants are depicted as heroes rising up against the racist French police. During its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Athena received a lengthy standing ovation.

According to Vulture.com, the main character is a soldier named Abdel who learns that his 13-year-old brother has been killed at the hands of the police in the opening moments of the film. A gathered crowd of foreigners — who reside in a public housing building — soon becomes violent and begins throwing Molotov cocktails at police. The mob soon overruns the police and manages to secure a stockpile of guns and ammunition before torching a besieged police station.

“It’s still the first shot of the movie. The van, filled with gleeful kids, speeds down the highway, flanked by motorcycles popping triumphant wheelies and bystanders cheering in solidarity,” reads Bilge Ebiri’s review with Vulture. “The camera spins all around them as the kids wave the French flag and chant the name of their housing project, which has now become to them both a nation and a joyous symbol: “Ath-e-na, Ath-e-na, Ath-e-na!”

The group of migrants — now organized into a paramilitary force — soon return to the housing project and begin to fortify it.

Film critics have heaped praise upon the film for its “anti-racist” message. At its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the film received a four-and-a-half minute standing ovation. “The French film had people applauding and whooping from the start of the end credits before the crowd stood for the ovation,” wrote Nancy Tartaglione of Deadline.

GOP: Treasury ‘runs cover’ for Hunter Biden as it withholds banking docs

The US Treasury Department has formally rejected a Republican lawmaker’s bid to examine “suspicious activity reports” on first son Hunter Biden — because the request wasn’t okayed by Democrats in Congress.

“It’s unacceptable,” Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, wrote Saturday on the committee minority’s website. “The Treasury Department continues to run cover for the Biden family and possibly hide information about whether Joe Biden benefited financially from his family’s business transactions.”

Comer has been trying for months to wrangle the reports, known as SARs — anti-money laundering reports generated by banks that flag suspiciously large transactions — out of the Treasury Department.

At least 150 SARs have been filed against President Biden’s son and other Biden family members relating to their questionable foreign business deals, Comer has said.

In the past, such reports have been made available to congressional investigators of either party — but “the Biden Administration changed the rules to severely restrict Congress’ access to suspicious activity reports in the dark of night and with no explanation,” Comer wrote Saturday.

In a letter issued Friday, Treasury official Jonathan Davidson wrote that the department will only provide SARs based on “appropriate requests from committees of jurisdiction” — an unlikely prospect, as long as the House remains in Democratic hands.

The Post has reported extensively on Hunter Biden’s shady overseas business dealings, beginning with a series of exposes in October 2020 based on documents, emails and texts found on a laptop he abandoned at a computer repair shop in Delaware in 2019.

BLM Leader Accused of Syphoning $10 Million From Charity Donors

The head of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Global Network Foundation has been accused of stealing more than $10 million in donations given to the Marxist movement for “on-the-ground work,” according to court documents.

Shalomyah Bowers, who serves on the foundation’s three-person board that acts as a fundraising umbrella for BLM activism, has been described in a criminal complaint filed by BLM Grassroots as a “rogue administrator” and “middle man turned usurper.”

The grassroots group, a California-based non-profit made up of BLM chapters across the country, said Bowers was hired to help collect and distribute donations for expenditures within the foundation, but he instead used the organization as his “personal piggy bank.”

Bowers’s actions prompted the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and various state attorney generals to lead “multiple investigations” into its financial accounts, “blazing a path of irreparable harm” to the BLM movement in less than 18 months, according to the complaint.

“While BLM leaders and movement workers were on the streets risking their lives, Mr. Bowers remained in his cushy offices devising a scheme of fraud and misrepresentation to break the implied-in-fact contract between donors and BLM,” the lawsuit states.

When Bowers was confronted about the raised allegation, he changed the passwords of shared social media accounts, email groups, website portals, and other tools the movement had built over the years in order to continue “fraudulently raising money from unsuspecting donors passing himself off as the organization,” it added.

William Barr Skeptical of Trump Declassification Claim; Trump Responds

The claim by former President Donald Trump that he declassified the documents with classified markings found at Mar-a-Lago was challenged Sept. 2 as “highly improbable” by former Attorney General William Barr.

“I can’t think of a legitimate reason why they could be taken out of the government, away from the government, if they’re classified,” who was attorney general during the Trump and George H.W. Bush administrations, said during an appearance on Fox News.

“I frankly am skeptical of this claim that ‘I declassified everything,’ because, frankly, I think it’s highly improbable and second, if in fact, he stood over scores of boxes not really knowing what was in them, and said ‘I hereby declassify everything in here,’ that would be such an abuse, and show such recklessness that it’s almost worse than taking the documents.”

Trump publicly ordered in October 2020 the “total declassification” of “any and all documents” related to the U.S. investigation into alleged Russia-Trump collusion, as well as all documents related to the use of a private email server by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

However, then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said in a sworn declaration filed in court shortly after that the order did not “require the declassification or release of any particular documents” and that Trump delegated the declassification to Barr, whose department ran the shoddy Russia-Trump investigation. The Department of Justice also said it was told as much by the White House. Trump recently pointed to a Jan. 19, 2021, memorandum he issued declassifying other documents.

Other former Trump administration officials, such as Kash Patel, now an EpochTV host, have said that Trump declassified a number of documents, supporting Trump’s claim.

Disgraced Chinese Lab Partner Gets ANOTHER Massive U.S. Taxpayer Grant.

Zero lessons learned.

EcoHealth Alliance – a group whose risky bat coronavirus research with Chinese lab has stirred controversy – received a new $1 million grant from the U.S. government for pandemic prevention.

The grant follows the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Trump administration terminating the group’s funding after it was revealed EcoHealth Alliance had been working with the Wuhan Institute of Virology on bat coronavirus research with similarities to COVID-19. The group’s president, Peter Daszak, also played a key role in downplaying the virus tracing it’s origins to a lab as opposed to nature.

EcoHealth Alliance has repeatedly failed to comply with congressional subpoenas regarding its work in China, which appears to have included gain-of-function research, where by researchers manipulate pathogens to make them deadlier to humans.

Despite these red flags, EcoHealth Alliance, in partnership with Boston University, was awarded a $1 million Predictive Intelligence for Pandemic Prevention Phase I (PIPP) grant by the National Science Foundation.

The National Science Foundation is a multi-billion-dollar government agency, who’s grants, including EcoHealth Alliance’s, are backed by taxpayers.

“Researchers will focus on predictive models of location and likely pathogens. This will be accomplished by first compiling a list of mutagenic RNA viruses with a high risk of spillover based on their ability to spread, cause outbreak, and cause severe illness,” begins a summary of the work researchers will engage in.

“Next, the team will identify locations at risk of spillover and localized spread by assembling a list of animals known to host one or more of the focal viruses.”

The approach is strikingly similar to EcoHealth Alliance’s previous collaborations with Chinese labs in Wuhan, which created artificially deadlier bat coronavirus strains in the name of “pandemic prevention.”

A summary of the joint effort notes that the work will be “drawing upon recent research published in Nature Communications, Sánchez et. al, A strategy to assess spillover risk of bat SARS-related coronaviruses in Southeast Asia.”

It appears that Daszak, whose conflicts of interest with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Chinese Communist Party led to his removal from the Lancet medical journal’s COVID-19 commission, will be involved with the research, commenting the following upon receipt of the grant:

“EcoHealth has championed analytical approaches to predicting pandemics for the last 25 years. This new collaboration with global leaders at BU & our own leaders in emerging disease research takes our work to the next level.”

In the past, Daszak has admitted to faking need for massive pandemic grants, though various federal agencies under the Biden White House have continued to fund him and EcoHealth Alliance.

Walensky on Whether CDC Failed on Schools: I Wasn’t There ‘When Schools Were Closed’

On Friday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Morning Edition,” CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky responded to a question on whether the handling of schools during the coronavirus pandemic was a failure by the CDC by stating that she was “not in the CDC when schools were closed.” And that “starting in January 2021, I have said, and continued to say, schools should be the first place to open and the last place to close.”

After Walensky talked about her review of the agency’s response to the pandemic, host Steve Inskeep asked, [relevant exchange begins around 3:30] “I know you want to look forward here, I would imagine, but of course, you also have to look back, and that’s what the review was. And I want to ask about one specific part of the response.” Inskeep then played a clip of Anya Kamenetz’s criticism of the agency before asking, “Dr. Walensky, do you accept that that was one of the CDC’s failures?”

Walensky responded, “Well, certainly, I was not in the CDC when schools were closed. But let me tell you, what I think people were thinking at the time, which is one of the areas — especially in other respiratory viruses, where there’s high rates of fatalities among children. And so, keeping the schools closed — or closing them originally was really intended to buy a little time to learn about how this respiratory virus was going to spread. I will say that, starting in January 2021, I have said, and continued to say, schools should be the first place to open and the last place to close. So, it had to be the place that we focused to make sure, if nothing else was working, we needed, first, to get our children back to school. We needed it to be a safe place for our children, for our teachers, for our staff.”

CNBC Falsifies Study To Claim Greenland Melting From Climate Change

CNBC prophesied global destruction as a result of “human-caused climate change,” based on a study published by a liberal science journal.

“A massive ice sheet in Greenland is set to raise global sea levels by nearly a foot by the end of this century, in a melting event driven by human-caused climate change,” CNBC freaked out in an Aug. 29 story.

There was just one problem with CNBC’s claim. The original study, published by Nature, never mentioned the words “human,” “people,” “fossil fuel,” “oil,” “gas” or “person” once.

So much for “human-caused climate change.” CNBC appears to have arbitrarily inserted that language into its report.

Climate Depot founder Marc Morano told MRC Business that fearmongering over the Greenland ice sheet is an old media trick:

“Here they go again. When current reality fails to alarm, the media makes scarier and scarier predictions of the future. Hyping another frightening computer model projection of sea level rise is old hat for the media.”

Nature had previously endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020, publishing an editorial two-and-half weeks before the election headlined, “Why Nature supports Joe Biden for US president.”

“We cannot stand by and let science be undermined,” the article whined. “Joe Biden’s trust in truth, evidence, science, and democracy make him the only choice in the US election.”

Sounds like Nature is just another rubber-stamp organization for Biden’s extreme green agenda. More recently, it released a propaganda piece celebrating Biden’s $740 billion “Inflation Reduction Act”: “Scientists welcome ‘enormous’ US climate bill — but call for stronger action.”

On the same day that CNBC published its apocalyptic story, another report came out completely undercutting the eco-doom narrative.

The Greenland ice sheet gained seven gigatons of mass in just one day — the largest daily gain ever recorded during the summer, according to Disclose TV’s summary of data from Arctic research institution Polar Portal.

That fact alone calls into question the Nature study that CNBC mischaracterized.

The research published in Nature predicted that 3.3 percent of Greenland’s ice sheet will melt, which would theoretically cause sea levels to rise about 10 inches between now and 2100.

The outlet continued to push misinformation on the effects of so-called climate change on Greenland. “Climate change from the burning of fossil fuels has led to longer summers in Greenland and accelerated the retreat of glaciers and the island country’s ice cap.”

Again, the Nature study did not once cite the terms “fossil fuel” or “oil.”

Leftwing Guardian Triggered by ‘My Son Hunter’: ‘Stop Trying to Make Hunter Biden Conspiracy Theories Happen’

Britain’s left-wing The Guardian has attacked the upcoming movie My Son Hunter in a column claiming the movie is trying to elevate the Hunter Biden laptop scandal beyond a fringe conspiracy theory. But the article ignores the fact that the laptop and its contents have been authenticated as real by multiple mainstream news outlets, including the New York Times and CNN.

Guardian columnist Emma Brockes describes My Son Hunter as a “piece of political porn dedicated to animating the wildest fringes of Trump chat-room banter.” She also offers a snide piece of advice: “guys, stop trying to make Hunter Biden conspiracy theories happen.”

It remains unclear if Brockes even saw My Son Hunter before she wrote the article, since the movie is not yet publicly available. It is only available now for pre-order until its release on September 7. The article is vague about whether or not she has seen it, though she clearly has seen the trailer. Breitbart News sent separate inquiries to Brockes and The Guardian but has not received replies.

My Son Hunter, which marks Breitbart’s expansion into film distribution, dramatizes the sordid personal life and shady business dealings of Hunter Biden, played by Laurence Fox. Directed by Robert Davi, the movie also stars John James as Joe Biden and Gina Carano as a Secret Service agent.

At the center of the movie is Hunter Biden’s laptop, which intersects paths with a stripper who befriends Hunter and assumes a central role in the narrative.

Explosions Rock US Base In Northeastern Syria Days After Israeli Attack On Aleppo & Damascus

Late on September 3, a series of explosions rocked the US-led coalition Green Village base that is located in al-Omar oil fields in the northeastern Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor.

Fire and columns of smoke were reportedly seen rising from the base after the explosions, which were allegedly the result of an indirect fire attack. Coalition drones also flew over al-Omar oil fields and other parts of the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The US-led coalition is yet to clarify what exactly happened at the Green Village base. Usually, the coalition acknowledges any attacks on its bases in Syria within 24 hours.

The mysterious explosions came just three days after a large-scale Israeli aerial attack on Syria that targeted the airports of Aleppo and Damascus. The attack wounded five service members and caused considerable material losses.

If confirmed, the attack on the Green Village base could be a response by Iranian-backed forces in Syria to the last wave of Israeli strikes.

A recent report by the New York Times said that Damascus and its allies, who are known as the “Axis of Resistance,” have agreed to respond to Israeli strikes by attacking US bases in Syria.

Iranian-backed forces have already responded to a series of Israeli strikes that hit air defense bases in Tartus and Damascus on August 14 by targeting the US-led coalition garrison in the southeastern Syrian area of al-Tanf with a number of suicide drones on the very next day. However, the drone attack led to a confrontation with the coalition, who responded less than ten days later by striking positions of Iranian-backed forces in Deir Ezzor.

A new attack on one of the coalition bases in Syria is guaranteed to provoke a fierce response from the US, who appears to be determined to deter the Axis of Resistance.

Facebook Fact-Checkers Are Now Dropping by the Comments Sections of Your Posts to Re-Educate You

Facebook just keeps finding new ways to be awful. The latest stunt is to jump into the comments section of your posts to insert some approved agitprop that stays near the top of your feed.

This particular “fact” check concerns an estimate from a car dealership showing that a customer would be charged nearly $30,000 for an EV battery for his Chevy Volt. A Facebook page called Car Coach Reports, which focuses on auto news, posted a picture of the invoice on August 29. Two days later, PolitiFact waded into the comments section to add their take on the story—namely that the battery in question was for a 10-year-old vehicle with 70,000 miles that is no longer under warranty. PolitiFact wrote, “The battery had to be purchased from a third-party supplier because General Motors discontinued the Volt in 2018 and no longer makes the battery.” They quickly added that newer batteries “cost much less.”

On the “fact” checker’s website we learn that “The average cost of a replacement battery in an electric vehicle is about $6,300… though that price can be higher depending on the vehicle in question.” Prices can range anywhere from $6000 to $20,000.

As an aside, this is more proof that EVs are mostly for elitists with lots of disposable cash. Your average plumber or third-grade teacher is never going to be able to afford a new EV, let alone pay for maintenance on the vehicle. Setting aside the planned obsolescence of fossil-fuel-powered electric cars, how many average Americans can afford to shell out $6000 (at minimum) for a battery every ten years? Our family has never owned a car that cost more than $10,000, with the vast majority of them coming in under $5000.

But getting back to that fact-check comment, Ayobami Olugbemiga, from Meta’s Policy Communications department, told PJ Media in an email, “We have launched a pilot program on Facebook that aims to show people more reliable information and empower them to decide what to read, trust and share.” He explained that “A small group of our US third-party fact-checking partners has the ability to comment in English and Spanish to provide more information on public Facebook posts that they determine could benefit from more context.”

Olugbemiga referred us to the company’s recent Community Standards Enforcement Report, which explains the new program. According to the report, the effort is “separate” from Facebook’s third-party fact-checking program: “The comments aren’t fact-check ratings. They won’t result in any enforcement penalties for content owners, nor will they impact a post’s distribution or the overall status of a Page.”

Average Child Spends Less Than an Hour a Day Doing Physical Activities, Parent Survey Shows

Forget staying at home – nearly four in five parents would rather catch up with their family while doing a physical activity together (78%). It might be the best way to get kids to exercise more, according to a new poll, considering the average child isn’t even spending an hour a day being active.

The survey of 2,000 parents with kids under 18 finds that parents really do have the most fun when they get to spend time with their kids (83%). Moreover, a whopping 89 percent like to be active with their kids by playing sports or spending time outside. According to the survey, parents’ favorite physical activities to do with their kids are playing basketball (36%), dance (34%), and swim lessons (32%).

Let’s get outside!

Conducted by OnePoll in partnership with Life Time, the survey shows that four in five parents want to inspire their kids to try more physical activities throughout their lives. While the average respondent thinks that it’s best to introduce kids to more physical activities around the age of 7, a third of parents think it’s important to do so even earlier.

Spending more time outside may also be the answer for the 76 percent of parents who are looking for new ways to connect with their kids. Half of parents think it’s difficult for their kids to enjoy an activity without getting bored (51%), but 73 percent say their child is fearless when it comes to trying something new.

They won’t have to do it alone, since 79 percent of parents are willing to try a new activity alongside their kids.

“Pickleball, swimming, group exercise classes – the list of healthy activities parents can enjoy with their children is virtually limitless,” says Alicia Kockler, senior vice president of kids and aquatics for Life Time, in a statement. “Teaching our kids about the benefits of an active lifestyle is so important, and exploring new ways to play together creates memories that will last a lifetime.”

1 in 5 children needs some more exercise

Most parents add that seeing their kids being active inspires them to get active as well (78%). A fifth of parents would rate the physical health of their kids as “average,” “poor,” or “very poor” (22%), which may be why nearly two-thirds of respondents wish their kids were more active than they already are (64%).

On average, parents estimate that their kids spend less than an hour a day being active, with nearly half sharing that their kids are less active than this. Thirty percent shared that their kids are more active during the summer than during the school year.

However, 38 percent think their kids are just as active when school starts up and seven in 10 say the beginning of the school year is a good time to make healthy lifestyle changes (71%).

“The start of a new school year is a great time to develop new family routines,” Kockler says. “We suggest designating one or two nights a week when the whole family participates in a fun activity together – like basketball or a family swim at an indoor pool. Families that spend more active time together, and less time staring at screens, tend to be happier and much healthier.”

MSNBC Guest on Trump Voters: “We Are at War with These People; These Folks Are Evil”

MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross along with her hate-filled guests on Saturday doubled down on Joe Biden’s attacks on millions of Trump supporters.

Joe Biden Thursday evening delivered the most divisive and evil speech in US history.

The imagery was shocking.

The red glow.

MSNBC guest Roland Martin on Saturday demonized millions of Trump supporters.

“We are at war with these people. These folks are evil. They have allowed evil into their house with Donald Trump,” Roland Martin said.

“This evil is spreading. And when you are in a war footing, you have to respond accordingly. It is about time Joe Biden got tough. Stop being weak, stop being impotent, quit not fighting back. What these people want to do to this country is destroy democracy,” he added.

MSNBC host Tiffany Cross chimed in and said Republicans are “the biggest threat to democracy.”

“Obviously Republicans are, I think, the biggest threat to democracy. We don’t separate right-wing extremists and Republican Party anymore,” Tiffany Cross said.

Investigators seize over 2 dozen antiques from the New York Met in looting investigation

Artifacts sent back to their countries of origin.

Investigators with the Manhattan district attorney’s office have seized nearly 30 ancient artifacts from the city’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, with the seizures coming from a special investigation unit dedicated to stolen antiquities.

The artifacts—from ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt—were reportedly valued at around $13 million, the New York Times reports. The investigations were carried out over the past six months involving three separate search warrants.

The majority of the 27 items seized will be repatriated back to Italy, while six will be returned to Egypt.

The Met told the Times that it was fully cooperating with the investigations.

“The norms of collecting have changed significantly in recent decades,” the museum told the paper, “and The Met’s policies and procedures in this regard have been under constant review over the past 20 years.”
