so shit by that standard i have sold more of my own books and art than 24k of people Penguin and Random House Publish. HOT DAMN IM SUCCESSFUL.
i remember seeing when i was looking at places to self publish that if you go through certain places they will put you in a catalog and list to be shard with librarians. SO most of the published books are the ones that are really pushed to these places so you would be right. This is why Gender Queer ends up in a school library. The publishing game is fucked and rigged against creators on all sides from books to comic books.
I am no tom clancy but damn. But by selling 15 books i bitch smacked half of penguin publishing authors. that is crazy. Thy still got the pay off though.

these numbers are reflective of comic book publishing also. The high numbers that were seen in the early 90s nothing has been close to that for decades and with Warner BROS possibly shutting down DC Comics the publishing world is getting ripped a new one. Just looks at people doing it thmselves like Eric July or Ethan VanSciver.

it sucks but i have known for years i am up against a monolith. When you realize what publishing is and who is in charge. Not trying to make it that issue, but there are elements to it. Then when you look at publishing they are printing each book for pennies on the dollar, which a independent creator can not do easily. Print costs are terrible and to even get close to a price point that is affordable for people to buy its not really competitive . This is why your RH/penguin books are so cheap. Part of this goes back to Newspaper Publishing, it was so costly to stop the presses they kept printing things to keep the machines going this is how comics were partially started back in the 30's. Then they found out they make money, but the only people being hired were living i NYC or LA so artists like myself have a harder time breaking in and back down to the bush leagues trying to self publish. There are so many scams going on in publishing to the printing, to the talent involved and then expanding even out to the over abundance of artists now competing in some fields. It just a mess i guess is what i am trying to say..need more pots.
just a thought, smarter anons may have already commented. But the other day when Trump said the FBI were mobsters, can that be tied back to Nancy. I know she is a mob princess and all that but is the FBI acting under her direction? Who is directing them. Doubt they get walking orders from soros directly.
yeah that is prob the more obvious answer. Just was thinking about mobsters and then how far back the corruption goes with the FBI since its founding and then the involvement with them and the mob in the kennedy murder. Obvious answer is obvious just looking for other vectors i guess. That is a super sad and revealing video.
Trump is pretty selective about his language, and coding and all that. There was a reason he said mobsters in that truth he sent. ( god that name is retarded ). I know he is a new yorker and it could be just be a metaphor but, no he is calling the FBI and DOJ mobsters. Which makes me wonder what their purpose ever was because this infestation of corruption is not new the rot was there from the start. That is why i was thinking about nancy and her mob connections. Then you get back to Godfather 3 stuff and thinking.
